I understand your worries, but what can the University group even tell Ueda?
They don't really know us either.
We just barged in and tried to stop the conflict and then trounced Sendai and Fukushima when we got ambushed.
And we can control grief. We are kind of altruistic and like to meddle but are somewhat reasonable and a do-gooder that likes helping people.
They don't really know that much about us, that Ueda couldn't just figure out from our behaviour just now, on her own.
"Um... be ready to antimagic her if she tries to use her powers?" you ask. You glance around. There aren't any particularly deep shadows she could manipulate, so you think it should be OK. Not like she's demonstrated the ability to strangle you with them or something, anyway.
Ueda left the scene before we dropped that line, so they probably won't know about it. And Sendai, well, they already know what Kirika can do after we bushwhacked them at the radio tower, we're just really confirming what the know.As an addition to this:
One of the only important things she maybe wasn't entirely sure of, that I can think of right now, would be the true nature of Kirika's power, which we just now confirmed to all of Sendai. So that probably won't stay a secret for long anyway.
Followed a moment later by a call from Yumi: "Sabrina, I think you forgot to give Sakura back her Soul Gem."The teleporter looks like she's sucking on an entire lemon as she grabs Yumi's hand, glaring sourly at the ground. She frowns, concentrating for a moment, before the pair of them snap away with the familiar noise.
Because, in fact, that is exactly what I was thinking....A stray thought crosses your brain - why don't the pointed bottoms of the Grief Seeds punch holes in the plastic bag?
Yep, she did have questions. Probably better that she's talking to UG than us, really.Noa bows politely. "Thank you. I shall not get in the way, I merely wish to ask a few questions."
She was also extremely careful to stay on our good side the moment we showed up and bagged Akiko. I suggested an opportunity to speak with her ourselves in the last vote, but that was ignored. If we don't care about that, I don't see why we suddenly want to interfere with her talking with other people.Ueda is wondering how the interventionist grief controller is going to change the balance of power in this region. Based on that, she is going to make moves to secure her group's position. We better hope those moves don't involve conflict, but I'm not willing to make that bet. The less concrete information she has, the less likely she is to make drastic moves.
I mean, think about this. She practically jumped on the first opportunity she had to ask questions in private without us.
In the "everything's fine as long as no one disagrees with me" kind of way.
Ueda: "Wait, so you're actually a Witch?"
Ueda: "Wait, so you're actually a Witch?"
Sabrina:"A-ha! Got your powers!"
*Awkward Silence*
Is it the idea of them being getting themselves into trouble of their own making and trying to use us as a trump card? Because we'd probably want to talk to the other side too just like we did here- and we're spelling out our view of needless fighting and how we'd respond to it.[x] Ugolino
Though for whatever reason, it's the emergency call line that bothers me. And I can't put my finger on why...
Firn's description of their planned ambush and such makes them sound pretty strong. I doubt they'd need us for anything that wasn't really bad.Is it the idea of them being getting themselves into trouble of their own making and trying to use us as a trump card? Because we'd probably want to talk to the other side too like we did here in that case.
Again, I don't understand.
@Muramasa: Maybe because Akiko lied to us today to get our help, for example?
Hmm...Can you explain, please? Demanding something back from them might make them leery of accepting, and I'm not sure what we get out of it beyond the obvious (more firepower).@Ugolino: Maybe that should be phrased as mutual assistance pact instead of one-sided one, at least, since they're already getting cleanses.
I'm partial to Dedolere and Tomoe, myself.Last names I like: Tyrannosaurus, Tomoe, Velocity, Victory, Velociraptor, Dedolere and now most recently, Spellman.
Assistance with Wally maybe? We haven't actually brought that up with anybody outside of Mitakihara. More firepower on that monster is never a bad idea.Hmm...Can you explain, please? Demanding something back from them might make them leery of accepting, and I'm not sure what we get out of it beyond the obvious (more firepower).
Firstly, the gains from having seeds cleansed are cumulative, regular, reliable, risk-free, and require no upfront magical expenditure. This is one hell of a big deal. But if we're making not being mercenaries a condition, then that is income they lose directly. I suppose there's an unspoken threat that we'll come and force them to do things our way, but that's hardly something I'm willing to support.
'This region?' She lives hundreds of miles away.Ueda is wondering how the interventionist grief controller is going to change the balance of power in this region. Based on that, she is going to make moves to secure her group's position. We better hope those moves don't involve conflict, but I'm not willing to make that bet. The less concrete information she has, the less likely she is to make drastic moves.
Of course she did! Think about what she knows about this situation.I mean, think about this. She practically jumped on the first opportunity she had to ask questions in private without us.
"just Sabrina" works quite well, though. You need a family for a last name, after all.Sabrina's last name should be Velocity, or at least start with a V, considering the nature of her cognition.
Inferior to "no last name".Sabrina's last name should be Velocity, or at least start with a V, considering the nature of her cognition.
If you're gonna do this, at the very least make it very clear it's a reference. "Sabrina, the teenage witch, please to meet you."
