While I would want to build more chariots I would rather we continue studying metal so that we can get that as soon as possible because even MORE war will be on the horizon pretty soon.

It would stop some corruption but would take up more of the king's time hmm this may give us a chance to once again gain an admin tech innovation

Whelp, time to establish a court of appeals/establish the king as the highest authority in the Land. In the short term it might cause us problems, but in the long term this is a good precedent.

Art- better pottery is awesome, no ifs ands or buts.

Warriors- I'd prefer Chariots here, but warriors are also needed and it's only one martial less.

Yeah, but we need to main the Art if we want the bonus (potential innovations), and all of our military developments suck unless used as Mains, which means that we can't due to the required secondary war mission.
We have a special, I don't imagine it necessary
Special: There are some interesting kinds of pottery being brought by lowlander refugees, perhaps Art Patronage might be useful?

Guys...there is a mandatory war mission for defense.
Dammit. Military has to go up immediately. If they can no longer easily afford to raid us without getting themselves cannibalized, they can't raid. We have clear statements in the update now, absolutely proving that high military=deterrence.

Spend our econ, lock down the Northshore for foreseeable future.

Keep in mind province actions will likely have at least one war related action and we must have at least one war misson against nomad.

So guys do any of you think that the tech improvement for black soil is gun powder? I mean didn't nobunaga manage to create that using our method i.e fermented piss and shit

Yes, I am for getting main Chariots after that.
This is exactly the situation we could have needed them in.

Also, given our boats have come up with the idea of flags, I'll bet that Redcoast decides to expand snail cultivation so that we have enough amounts of dye to both trade AND create flags with

I'm betting on province expanding warriors.

Why Main Warriors? Main Chariots is far better in this situation, we've seen how effective they are vs. nomads. They also flat out give us more martial and guaranteed other effects instead of just possibilities.

They're gonna build a wall this turn on their own.
Because we need more guys in general. More Chariots just puts more of our guys on chariots, rather than increase the number of warriors

Is mainlining the war riskier? Also, we lost a martial. We were siting pretty with 8 martial the previous turn... :(
Mainlining the battles with the Nomads is definitely not riskier? From the update we have near parity/close loss with them, on turf that has not been en-forested. So by taking a main Warriors we solve the problem so we can go back to doing other things.

Plus Northshore should be building walls on it's own.

I fear one of the challanges if we stay at yellow econ is excess. Gluttony and Sloth would be the end of us.

Because we need more Warriors than we do Chariots.
he People had sophisticated scouts and could reinforce villages with warriors drawn from the other provinces, but the nomads were fluid and could pick when and where they wanted to strike. The People had to defend everywhere, while the nomads could attack anywhere and needed to be nowhere. Massed strikes by entire tribes could overwhelm local defences, although the People made it just enough trouble that the chieftains had to weigh the gains carefully, lest the losses they took in attacking make them prey to their kin.
The problem isn't striking back, but having enough bodies to guard our towns.

Holy f*ck bunnies batman is that a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong way away.

It's the right path but we are not getting that before Iron Age.

Oh and in case people didn't notice, we have a new megaproject: Place to the Stars. It sounds awesome, but we obviously can't afford it right now.

We need both, but chariots are super-effective vs. nomads. We currently have no chariots, getting them would make us far more effective at hurting the nomads who hurt us. Instead of defending we'll be able to strike back and shift their cost/benefit analysis significantly further than simply improving our defenses.

Honestly, I would guess the Black Soil innovation would be sewer systems. Garden megaproject may give us that also as a bonus in addition to whatever else it gives.

You ninja'd me.
Here it is:

Place to the Stars - The shamans have noticed deeper patterns among the stars than they ever imagined, and setting up long term memories of where things should be could be intensely useful, if also labour intensive to get sufficiently durable markers in place [King] (7-10? action commitment, -1 Econ per action, some Mysticism commitment)

Hallo, Stonehenge!
