Social Values (3/3)
Divine Stewards
Through the blessings of the spirits and the efforts of the People, the land is reshaped, and its management and protection is a good above all others. No effort is to great when it comes to the stewardship of the land.
Pros: Bonuses to all actions relating to land management, bonuses when fighting on own terrain, additional Econ and Stability whenever completing a land management type Megaproject, may spend Stability to double the effort of megaprojects and in defensive wars
Cons: Additional strife caused by deliberate environmental disruption unless it is for the long term betterment of the land, or loss of territory to others
Protective Justice
Punishment and retribution are not justice, but tools of justice. Justice exists to encourage desirable behaviours, and thus can be best served by discouraging bad behaviour before it happens.
Pros: Justice is an objective, and thus can be served without retribution or retaliation
Cons: Sometimes the call for justice comes early...
Land of Opportunity
You welcome all, offering food and shelter if they will contribute to your community. Sometimes these newcomers behave badly, and sometimes they bring strange new ideas, but in general they strengthen your community, especially in the long run
Pros: Enhanced absorption of new ideas, +1 social value from current or historical neighbours, whenever a neighbour suffers a stability drop, have the option to also suffer a stability drop in exchange for a large boost to Econ and technological and social advancement by absorbing especially large numbers of people
Cons: Many think you weak, not accepting the needy can cause stability drops, sometimes you get values you didn't expect
The Greater Good (LoO Linked)
The good of the many outweighs the good of the few, or the one. Temporary discomfort is to be endured for future prosperity and safety. And sometimes, more profound sacrifices must be made...
Pros: Any decision that can cause stability loss has a tiny chance of causing stability gain instead, new actions available
Cons: Sometimes people start looking for someone else to make the hard sacrifices, certain bad behaviours are more self-justifiable
Spiritual Values (2/2)
Harmony
To live in harmony with oneself, ones neighbours, and ones environment is to live in harmony with the spirits. To live in disharmony is to invite disaster.
Pros: Bonus to collective action
Cons: Disharmony is to be corrected
Honourable Death (Spiritual/Honour)
Death in service to the People and the spirits is the best death of all, removing the fear of death from the truly honourable.
Pros: Warriors fight harder, losses in battle are less disruptive
Cons: Seeking a good death, and the means to achieve it, becomes desirable
Honour Code (1/1)
Nobility in Humility
True greatness is expressed in quiet dignity and humility. That one's nose is not stuck up and their head not in the ground can greatly prevent tripping, although perhaps their dreams will also be less grand.
Pros: Reduces the odds of critical failures, leaders feel less need to be ostentatious
Cons: Reduces the odds of producing hero units, people find new ways to express pride
Legacies
+2 Centralization Tolerance
+1 Hierarchy Tolerance
Government Type
Early Ancient Provincial Kingdom (Elective)
While a single individual controls overall power, distances and complexity mandate the delegation to other highly empowered individuals. While very effective, conflict between the king and governors can lead to serious problems. In this variant the king is elected by and from the governors
Pros: Access to additional infrastructure projects, bonus to collective action, small number of autonomous actions
Cons: Beware the ambitions of the governors...
We have +1 stability... this would put us at -1... but I really REALLY want the dead priests goneHold on what are our status before we bandwagon the fuck DP train....
I feel the same but... it would have been awhile cause we need siege.I'm a bit disappointed we won't get to tear down their walls ourselves, but meh. I'll take this victory.
What do you mean by panic? I've seen very little in the way of panic and more you (and others) mocking the majority vote for being foolish or not reading what they voted for.Judging by the panic that ensured after the vote was called? Not really. Even though it was talked about several turns ago.
That is the only reason I have an incredulous smile right now.
Still, even as she shook her head, Nomirrah was smiling, and she said, "She just does not want her story to repeat over the generations. She wants a nice, levelheaded man who can take care of our fields and forests and not go anywhere." Her smile turned mischievous for a moment before she said, "Now, if you might like to demonstrate how you would till my fields in the off season, I would be willing to give you an audition, and show you how I make bread." She raised her eyebrows at that even as she ran a finger along the hem of her dress.
We need a new province to continue this economic upping!
People tripping a little and flipping to the double Restore Order vote. What do you mean by panic? I've seen very little in the way of panic and more you (and others) mocking the majority vote for being foolish or not reading what they voted for.
We have 10 economy. We can go for the really expensive stuff now--like mega projects!
Lets get a new province then a mega project, that way the baby boom continues to expand economyHoly hell.

[X] Reinforce Northshore
I reference you to this to old post of mine.[X] Reinforce Northshore
[X] The king will deal with the problems as they come (No change)
[X] Actively encourage the abandonment of the Dead Priest leaders by their people (-2 Stability, -1 Diplomacy, +4-5 Econ, chance to collapse the Dead Priests)
hmhmhmhmmm... Yes. My scenario came true... We waited the DPs out. Literally how our civ kills things: hate it until time kills it.
Not the best thing to post.
Just sayin. No harm no foul intended.
Megaproject time?
