For those who say this is Ghenghis Khan, I think your a few century off. It might be the huns though.

[X] [Steppe] Ignore the upstart, he will dash his forces against the People if he dares further action (x8)

I don't like appeasement. And the Ymarin need to be shaken up a bit.

People that's Genghis Khan. If we fight him we're fucked.

Depends, if he haven't snowballed too big it's completely possible to break up his forces with our sheer weight and nomadic allies.

But he can avoid the cleanup crew and sack other polity first and come back to us in his final form too.

Could go either way.

Because their votes weight less not because it's their opinion or because it's their votes, but because they push against the tide. It's harder for a angry character to calm down, and it's harder for an elitist society to not be elitist.

Yes, there are in-universe explanations. I am not denying that. I am saying that I think it discriminates against voters from a gameplay perspective because it suddenly means that you aren't as worth as much as someone else because even if you have a majority of people supporting you, a minority still gets to decide what happens.

The example you just cited doesn't even have multiple people involved.

Which example?

Do you have an argument that isn't fundamentally "I'm unhappy with this system and don't understand the rationale behind it"?

Yes, I think that while you can justify this system change from an in-universe perspective, it is unfair to players from a gameplay perspective as it allows a minority to dictate to the majority.

Jesus Christ, if you want to fight, at least don't go to fight in the steeps.

Lads, remember. Keeping the stagnate game is not going to go well. Remember that Hero Mechanics are a thing here.

Sure, this was never a democracy it's a fucking dictatorship with Academia Nut as supreme leader who has gotten tiered of democracy and is enforcing republica because he wants to.

And every vote I can remember partaking in this thread is had it so that every voter gets an equal say in the matter. Suddenly, we don't get an equal say in the matter.

Really not a fan of the degree of the vote weighting. When a hundred votes for reaching out are outweighed by two votes to purge the nomads it just seems unfair. I could tolerate a degree of vote weighting but a hundred to one is just extreme.

This is my point. Before, each voter had an equal say in the matter. Now one voter can be worth a hundred. Please explain to me how that is fair?

By the time the nomadic hero arrives he could have eaten the surrounding states and bloated to multiple giant forces. So it's either strike to break snowballing or not at all and hope he isn't planning to conquer us.

Yeah I will be honest this seems to hint that the People deserve to get purged for being arrogant SoBs.

We have no IC reason to think that this warlord is exceptional. The only reason to believe that is OOC: namely, we got a vote on this, so "obviously" the warlord is something important.

So my vote is for what I think we should do whenever a nomad starts making demands; either ignore them and kill them at our walls, or send "standard" gifts to them. Giving in to their demands just because they are made forcefully seems like a bad idea.

That's what China did OTL too, and it fucked them over BAD.
Plus a Mythical Martial Khan isn't going to be slowed down by things like "weight" and "allies". Genghis Khan for instance went from a minor nobling to the ruler of Asia.
