[X] [Main] Census
[X] [Secondary] New Settlement - south of cataracts
[X] [Secondary] Integrate Colony - Hatvalley - Propagate

That update was sad. The life of a former slave is rarely generous as they are inured to a way of thinking. It was a good glimpse into our society, however, and the ongoing problems of our tax crisis.

In the end, however, it's pretty much what everyone else said. Anything else is a bandaid. My biggest worry is our currently red overall martial.

We don't need the Cataracts settlement immediately. The Econ slots will refund due to overflow and for the rest the Baby Boom will be consumed by our 3 colonies.

After The Census we need to do The Law (Iron Age), so the Dam which the Cataracts will be useful for is several turns off still. And The Law has a good chance of needing stability the way we vote for taxes...

Also, we've massively increased our Centralization tolerance and still have very solid ways of reducing our Centralization. Let's use that.

Updating to include Greenshore -> Colony

[X] [Secondary] Integrate Colony - Hatvalley - Propagate
[X] [Secondary] Enforce Justice
[X] [Free] Found Colony - Greenshore

Yes, but that doesn't somehow make it "not corruption".
Idk if employers can be considered corrupt. The tax man was tho.

While what's happening is sad it is not something that can be fixed through knee-jerk reactions. First the census then the law.

Did we find ship ramming?

Conflicted about EJ.

For now, getting the law done is HUGE priority:

[X] [Main] Census

Not sure yet for followings...

Not voting for colony yet to maintain wealth>diplomacy drip

@veekie Wait, @Raichu1972 just brought up a good point. We plan on doing the Law Next turn correct? Would it not make sense to buff up Stability now in preparation of picking the best options?
That's a nonstarter considering the RoO+PG combo costs 2 secondaries and gives 1-3 stab. Assuming the Law is another mega project that means we can start it while still getting much better stab, to say nothing of our more powerful midturn actions.

Please don't convert Greenshore. We need that Diplomacy drip to afford to:
-Propagate Hatvalley - Diplomacy -6
-Integrate Stallion Tribes - Diplomacy -6
-(When they mature as a Colony) Integrate Txolla - Diplomacy -6

Doing this will take 6 turns longer without Greenshore to refuel our Diplomacy score, and will temporarily aggravate Gold and Silver supply problems due to losing the Trade Post buff to Metalworker products, until they expand into new mines.

I am talking about getting Stability right now, so we can start the Law with full Stability next turn.

Corruption gets worse over time, eventually becoming cultural. It will take two generations until the Census and Law are completed. Fighting corruption now means we are spared two generations of corruption worsening our civilisation.

[X][Main] The Census
[X][Secondary] Influence Subordinate - Txolla
[X][Secondary] Enforce Justice

We need to stop this slavery and people as tribute shit that the Txolla are doing, and we need to increase stability while we have a centralization buffer in preparation for the Law.

But we're doing the Census! I'm begging to use one of the Secondaries to help. It won't distract us from getting the census done and doing the law. It's not papering it up, it's a band aid, and it means a lot less people have to suffer. A band aid until things are fixed with the census and law are good. The things I suggested won't merely cover up the issue, it will directly reduce it. It won't reduce it permanently, but it will reduce it, and it doesn't have to be a permanent effect, just until the census and law are done.
What do we do with that secondary, hm? Use up centralization on EJ when it could easily put us over? Use RoO and have our legitimacy drop and make our vassals leaving a huge risk? Have the stability drop that is part of that action cause a martial problem? Use a festival twenty years too late and have it paper over the problems even more?

The only secondary I might change is propagating hatvalley in exchange for a merc company which would mitigate that red martial.

The core problem is thus:

No one in our society thinks it's a problem. It's normal now.

It will not help these people like Naha.

I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do that solves this problem and it's killing me. Now taking EJ so we can handle taking the best options on the Law so we can fix this, that's workable.

...holy crap.

Folks, how do I vote Iron age law? Because we need to kill the corruption NOW!

We are now in the early Medieval age techwise. We must destroy ALL internal problems holding us back ASAP.
