Seriously, that's 1.25 free expand Econ actions every turn. It's insane.
Yeah, that's my current thought right now. Thus not attacking the Trelli right now. We are unprepared for ship to ship combat. Go for the Northern Trading Post first as that would help build better boats.
Allows for building of larger ships and helps in the discovery of pitch, also helpful in shipbuilding.Does anyone know the exact benefits of northern wood over what we currently have? Especially as related to shipbuilding?
Yeah, that's my current thought right now.
I'm with you on the last two, but I'm really not ok with blowing out our martial cap that hard.[] [Exp] Integrate the Stallion Tribes
[] [Diplo] Tie everything further together (Main New Trails)
[] [Int] Party! (Main Improve Festival)
I think this would be the best narrative actions we can take.
Mmm, with ongoing city costs, it is only a 3 point movement a turn. I'm reasonably confident we can find ways to spend at least that much every turn. Also umm... we need more Expansion Slots. We're about to go through them fast.
I find that highly doubtful.Things like that only happen if our stab is negative, which it's currently not.
That matches my understanding, yes.I thought for sure that having red martial just meant having more soldiers than the state can properly control, and that they usually did something regardless of Stab.
As much as I'd like to get on top of the ongoing situation, I think we'd be better served by finishing our current round of major problems. Not exclusive. Trade post west + boats, but I need to work out the costs and make sure we got the palace covered still.
... Keep in mind the Trelli have been forming mercenary companies. Multiple companies. We will explicitly be sending the red banner to protect the trade post anyway. At that distance to the Trelli, they could potentially just take the land route for retaliation...
Why? Were you people not planning to go all out on the Palace next turn? That would put us at 9/8-10. It does not need an action right now.@Sivantic I'd actually recommend a Palace instead. Both the north and competitive boats are long term plans, which would ultimately benefit greatly from finishing our palace next turn.
What we need on the Trelli front is better boats. The east trading post is easier to support, and as such has smaller risks of Failure to Properly Support our Subordinates Sudden Death Cascade Syndrome (or FPSSSDCS) developing, while still pushing some progress on the Trelli front.
You might be being pessimistic? But pessimism is a good tool to have for this kind of situation. Counterweights any reaching for the stars some people(me for example) may have.Losing the naval battles with such large distances involved will hurt though. It means supply will be risky, and our logistics has time and again been a major boon for our armies. While I'm pretty sure we will beat them on land battles, there isn't much we can do other than defend ourselves on land battles.
To win this, we need to win some naval battles, and as we are now I'm not sure we can do it. Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but the prospects of a war with the Trelli don't seem like a good idea right now.
Which is basically what I was getting at. Good raiders, thus win the land battles, bad sea fighters thus probably lose the naval battles.Longships are awesome for ship to shore, poor for ship to ship.
Extremely long single planks of wood. This makes shipbuilding easy.Does anyone know the exact benefits of northern wood over what we currently have? Especially as related to shipbuilding?
Yeah, that's my current thought right now.
ehhhhh would it?Why? Were you people not planning to go all out on the Palace next turn? That would put us at 9/8-10. It does not need an action right now.

We plan on building both anyway, so why not grab the Northern Trading Post in preparation of grabbing the Southern One? You don't get as many benefits visa versa. You might be being pessimistic? But pessimism is a good tool to have for this kind of situation. Counterweights any reaching for the stars some people(me for example) may have.
Actually, since we set aside space for them, going over the required action in megaproject support might just have them build the Great Hall expansion or Gardens right away, if we have the stats for it.Why?
