Yeah. Less valuable than guns though.
Gunpowder - which we don't even know if this is - is not guns. It would probably be fireworks and nothing more for 500 years.
This smells more of the Highlander's diploannexing us than the reverse, given their probable attitudes towards women.
... But WE don't believe that, and we (the People) are the ones that matter.

Prince Boy is welcome to believe whatever he wants, but we know he's our new Bytah.
[] Forge a new path of war
We are usually against needles bloodshed and combat might not end well, as in hero death.
We voted to put her in the war, why stop now?

Plus the Hat's hero is as old as ours is, while Rolwyna is fresh and vigorous.

I think we can agree whatever the fuck she was messing with that killed her it's something an early iron age civ should not have from an anthropologist perspective. Like those super old batteries archeologists think where used in rituals.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have started towards the path of Siege Craft. Once again we will hold the keys to a new era!

Fertilizer bombs, eh? I like the way you think. And it fits with us as the Farm Civ

Ammonium nitrate is found as a natural mineral (ammonia nitre—the ammonium analogue of saltpetre and other nitre minerals such as sodium nitrate) in the driest regions of the Atacama Desert in Chile, often as a crust on the ground and/or in conjunction with other nitrate, chlorate, iodate, and halide minerals. Ammonium nitrate was mined there in the past, but virtually 100% of the chemical now used is synthetic.

I think it runs into the niter problem again, where did she gets the components for nitric acid?

Note that the youngest boy probably isn't going to be a King, if the eldest son typically inherit the kingship anyway.
"Run away to the Ymaaaaryn, we have high standards of living! Also, bleach blondes."

The HK would trust us way more if they thought we were their 'royal cousins.'

Either she succeeds and capture the power of the gods or die in the process. Win-Win either way.

Even if i had preferred she lived a quiet life. Now what to do with all that wealth?

That's not Win-win. That's win-lose, like everything else.

... Defense policy? Infrastructure? There's no point in speculating, if all the actions are going to get reworked.

Would our people even be OK with explosives? Due to the cultural aspects of our people and respecting nature and all that.

Kind of scared we are gonna critical fail like we did with metal and have to get rid of another horrible thing like "metal bad, curseeeeeee" but you know...with science ..

Maybe she had the wrong combo of salt-peter in what she was making.

Dunno.
My issue with this being gunpowder is we don't have a source of saltpeter except through sheer luck in our cow herds.

Not with Science itself. That flies in the face of LoW so no.

However explosives = bad could happen but I don't think it will since we would have a Hero working on it directly.

Look at it this way, the king and his daughter have accumulated enemies over the years, potentially damaging legitimacy and stability if daughter ascended the throne via the normal way.

Now what happens if she succeeds in capturing the god power? No one will question her rule.

What happens if she dies in the process? The enemies scatter and find other people to target, no more target king and heir; get an average king from the regular process. Much less possibility of damaging legitimacy and stability.

Honour of Elites
The perfection of a skill in service to others, particularly martial skill, is among the highest achievements a person can have. Of course, who can afford to achieve perfection is not always even...
Pros: Increase Martial gain from raising elite units
Cons: Increased potential Martial loss in fighting, increased social stratification
Honour of Elites -> Best of the Best
Whether in war or in art, the People want only the best, damn the costs
Pros: Increase Martial gain from raising elite units, bonus Art and Mysticism for certain actions
Cons: Increased potential Martial loss in fighting, increased social stratification, increased costs
Bonus Art and Mysticism for increased costs is probably worth it. Due to our practice of yeomanry, the social stratification is probably the same - our culture is already tied up with our martial habits.

I suspect that the 4 options might affect our daughter's stats if when she ascends to the throne, and she probably doesn't need any more Martial than she already has.

Next turn, if we don't have any fires to put out I'd like to get to Stability 3. We now know that periods of low Stability lead to corruption building up. I suspect it's part of the reason for this whole "enemies" thing.

Has anyone considered the possibility that Lolwyna just happened have bad testing practice and died in a dust explosion? No power of gods, no gunpowder, just a sad accident.
