Greater Good Fuses with Protective Justice!
Protective Justice -> Greater Justice
Justice exists for the good of all, protecting the community from the depravity of those who would do it damage.
Pros: Justice is a community objective that can be served through the careful application of punishment
Cons: The needs of the many can outweigh the needs of the few

Enforce Justice - The king is a servant of the law, and he can use the army to remind people of that fact [GJ]
* S: 1 Stability, +1-3 Centralization
* M: 1 to 2 Stability, +2-3 Centralization
* the more settlements with walls outside of the capital, particularly large walls, the less effective this action is
*Max Stability: Legitimacy
Oooh, shiny.

Can think of a few ways incorporating Greater Good's disadvantage could go wrong, though. Need to keep an eye on that.

Enforce Justice is probably a fair bit better an option to be doing at the same time as a law change, which could be relevant this turn.

Yeah, that econ value isn't fun. Not a good time to switch off of Balanced. Can't Grand Sacrifice this turn either, which doesn't make me happy.

It should recover quite quickly, though.

* 6 Econ Expansion available (max 11 to keep Valleyhome True City status)
Max number of Econ slots to keep our City went up. 6 is ... actually kind of awkward for our provinces to meet, depending on Admin rolls, I think? Two secondaries -> a main, doubled, gives us 8 econ with only six slots, if they haven't been increased first.

@Academia Nut What traits differ between the TH and the TS? What will it take to get Hathatyn traits? What traits do the MW now offer that they didn't before? Will the XS still be Greater Good?

Okay everyone I think we should take the new option out for a spin what do you all say to a double secondary enforce justice? Also should we choose once agin the dead priests to get back greater good?

Also according to AN econ isn't actually 2 it's 8, he just made a mistake. Also something to keep in mind is that it's possible that some other civilization has unlocked spies if so this is terrible as they might be able to cause shit like this and also steal our tech.

Alright, Hereditary Nobility was the hill i decided to fight and die upon ages ago, so thats a no-go. And the system was demonstrably not working before, so its down to geographic or occupational.
Either we have the guilds fucking shit up, or redistricting fucking shit up. Redistricting is more noticeable when it fucks things, so
[X] [Clan] Roll back, institute geographic administration within Valleyhome (Possibility of stability loss)

People, seriously, please, no guilds. Don't stifle the civilization. Occupational assortment doesn't offer anything that geographic doesn't, and it always leads to serious ossification.

Well. It's rather seeming like either this whole thing is a hilarious comedy of errors/judgement or there's someone out there with actual espionage tech built up and isn't afraid of exploiting the weakness of others with it.

At least no war with the Highlanders. We should really think about sending the Highlanders a salt gift.

What it sounds like is the thread's decision to turn Valleyhome into backstabbity Venice unlocked the Intrigue stat just like the invention of the king unlocked the Legitimacy stat, and an intrigue hero cropped up. They wouldn't be much of an intrigue hero if we were sure they even existed, would they?

Now, look. I know that people are wary of the idea of guilds, since they do tend to stifle innovation. HOWEVER! We are get automatic innovation bonuses from our Mysticism anyway. More, the guilds can act as back ups for the practical knowledge of our civilization; letting it survive even if our current People don't. So vote Occupational today!

guilds... caste systems... what's the difference when as a result our entire civilization is structured by the job you have?

QM's already told us what the results of each option would be and what they would turn out to be, Guilds are the least corrupt, most meritocratic and most effective of all the options,

Simple: You can change guilds. Castes are forever. Saying that Occupational is a Caste system is like saying that Geographical is a Serfdom system; entirely over-dramatic.

Edit: It also means a lessening of the warrior stratification that's already started to creep into our system, since no other guilds are going to just let the warriors gain full power-and with our Yeomanry system, they have the ability to push back if the warriors try to push the (spear)point.

I'm sure we wouldn't step into caste system. (Even if some of our people are trapped in half-exile duties for generations.):p

Hereditary nobility is ok too. <-- might flip to other side.

Also, HK being greedy stealing our iron weapons tools of peace.
