Shoot, I'd forgotten that you had specifically requested that Geirfinnr be kept away...

Perhaps Geirfinnr had snuck off anyways?
Just rewrite it so Geirfinnr wasn't there? Him not being there to step up doesn't really change much compared to being there and not stepping up.

Ragnar discovering, in front of everyone, that his son had gone off to do dumb norse shit while he was trying to stop all the players from doing dumb norse shit would be a neat story beat.

I'd personally find it really frustrating, because it presents Ragnarr's wife as incompetent and means we can't actually say things like 'my kids are going to the shelter during the attack' and have those statements mean anything.

It hamstrings our ability to actually take precautions or care about our characters NPC family.

Like, him going and doing stupid stuff is not the issue (that's arguably this whole incident, and is acceptable), it's the ignoring me taking specific precautions.

"I thank you for your kind words, Singer of Songs. Though, I can see you do have something besides water to drink this night."

Liv does take a sip of the strange brew, trying to discern what, besides water and maize, might be used in its creation.

"I'll be glad to know you amongst those that'll stand with me, when it comes to fighting those threats."

"Heh aye, I'm afraid unlike your kinsman or any of the others I'm not one for many pursuits besides fighting. Though I might have to change that if I wanna trade for as much of this brew as possible!"

Downing another mouthful of his drink he savored it on his tongue; knowing the season that awaited would be long and full of work. The taste carried a hint of the same as the Golden Grass they'd become accustomed to mixing with everything over the past seasons, sweeter however and with a provided numbness that made him giddier than he would naturally be outside of his comfort zone amongst family.

"Tell me" His voice seemed to carry a bit of wonder as he took a spot besides Liv "How is the view from atop your watchtower? I was accustomed to a grand sight of Gotland back home but obviously the sights higher up are barred from us, would you be willing to allow me to man it for some time to stay up there?" Silent as he was amongst the villagers he had no reason to hold back his natural rapid mouth loosened by the drink as it was.

"The sight of the sun rising above the horizon, be it in Gotland or here I believe any amount of work would be worth such a sight."

"I'm hoping to avoid a feud between your family and Clan Jarnblod. There has been an incident between Bo and Geirfinnr with your son choosing to inflict Nid on Ragnarr's son. Ragnarr is getting Geirfinnr's side of the story and I was hoping to get Bo's so we could find out what is going on and figure out a way to resolve this without escalating."

Sigmund is not one to mince words. That is the job of Ragnarr and Moli.
Erik furrows his brow for a second, but keeps his smile up.
"Really? That is a mighty serious claim and hardly sounds like my boy. Bo may be the talkative sort, takes after me and all, but he knows better than to to insult someone to their face for no reason. Now I know kids get into mischief and bandy some words every now and then, but I am sure that it is not anything so Nid-worthy.

"Now, have you seen what Harald has gotten into? He was halfway to dreamland before he disappeared and guess where I found him...?"

"Ah..." Liv looks into her drink, around, at the closest flame, back into her drink. "The sight is...nice? I wouldn't mind sharing the duty of keeping a watch-eye out for any trouble, but...while mine hands raised the tower, it does rest on land that, by rights, is my brother's, and so it is his right to invite others onto it."

Liv glances at Akali, back at her drink, at him again. Takes a sip.

"But feel free to tell him, I invited you."

"And the fact your son remains silence while Geirfinnr has a bruised face is rather indicative of who is at fault, Erik. As is your apparent desire to just brush this incident aside."

Edit: OOC reasoning at the request of Discord. Sigmund knows that Geirfinnr has a bruised face while Bo isn't answering his question while Erik has come up and tried to brush things off as not being a big deal. Because of those factors, he is starting to make a guess at who is at fault and, well, he is a warrior not a diplomat.

-[X] Minor Action: Attend Moli Spotlight's post-battle celebration.
-[X] Minor Action: Help guard the Jarnblods' homes and family while Sigmund and Ragnarr are away on the expedition to the west.
-[X] Minor Action: Whenever I have the free time (probably not much, between clearing three square miles of jungle hills and then also helping guard Sigmund's house), rather than just brooding like normal, I'll be heading back to my hovel on my platform and manifesting my fylgja to discuss how things are going, what I should be training and how, working through some emotions I've been feeling recently about Grid and maybe helping me figure how to talk to her about it.
--[X] With regards to training specifically, I've been taking with two ideas recently: using my Hands to staunch my bleeding and in general help me hold my body together, and trying to develop an Iron Kunna to let me manifest some temporary blades so that I can actually use Multiweapon Fighting without having to borrow other people's weapons.
-[X] Minor Action: Try to actually implement the training that I and my fylgja figure out.
-[X] Minor Action: Help Harald with landscaping.
-[X] Minor Action: Help Moli with surveying.

3. Planner-Buck says that it's a good idea to train Glima, specially since you've got so many hands to use it with. With regards to Grid, he says that you should probably kill something impressive and offer her its heart alongside your declaration of love. She's the kind of woman that values a powerful partner as it reflects well on her. He also says that perhaps Agmundr should take a couple steps back to make sure that Grid is the person he wants to marry--even though they can divorce, that has its own hoops to jump through wealth and status.

"Aye," answers Sigmund, his posture softening, "Geirfinnr came up with a large bruise on his face and claimed Bo did it. Ragnarr is speaking with Geirfinnr and I decided to get the other side of the story for the sake of fairness."

OOC: This is how it went down from Sigmund's perspective: Sigmund went up to Bo and asked a question. Bo doesn't answer while Erik comes up to Sigmund and starts trying to downplay what happened. So Sigmund starts to put together a picture from his limited view of the situation.

Akali will notice a random stray Goat giving him an evil look, as he talks to Liv, it's horns looking like Iron from this distance. A common sight, at least back in Gotland, it is rather odd in the New World. Where could it have come from?

Where did Harald go? The last thing Gefjosa remembered, they'd been talking about frogs and how to keep them moist and that probably hadn't been a euphemism for anything but also maybe?! it wasn't IT WAS! Then he was just gone?! To be fair, they'd been drinking this corn stuff, which smell great and tasted better, all night and everything was starting to go a little soft at the edges.

Okay. Find Harald. He's wearing that blue glowing thing. He should be easy to find. Retrace his steps. He came to the party and then he went and talked to that girl! he talked to that girl before you. he likes her more. TEAR HER ARMS OFF AND WEAR HER FACE! That girl! Maybe she knows where he went.

Anja Giantbone (@theknightofiron ) was easy to find even amid the crowd of... almost every who lived in their village... since she was taller than almost everyone except Uncle Njal. Gefjosa pushstumbled her way through the throng until she was in front of the other girl and looked up at her face. Up and up and up... huh? Gefjosa made a sound like someone punched her in the chest and all the indignant, drunk rage that had been building up inside her puffed out like so much hot air. She collapsed into a a seat next to Anja.

"Hi. I'm Anja. Y'er Gejfosa" That came out backwards. That's okay, she knows what I mean. "Wanna talk about boys?"

Harald snores softly, surrounded by moving dirt in the shape of regular sized frogs that occasionally squeeze out massive eggs.

He wakes with a start, and remembers what he was doing, standing up.

*Where did Gefjoza go?*

He started to walk off, before noticing that someone had left dirt all over the floor. Picking it up with his Kunna and storing it at the bags at his side, Harald slowly walks off, shaking his head at the impropriety of all these drunks.

*OK. Find Gefjoza. She's wearing that ridiculous outfit she thinks hides her figure, she should be easy to find. Retrace her ste....Gefji!!*

Harald sees her on the other side of the room, and goes cross-eyed for a moment trying to path out a clear way to her. After only a minute of firm concentration, he nails it, walking over to her smoothly, almost completely hiding his stumbling by controlling the soil tucked into his shoes.

"Gefjoza, I'm so glad I found you, I've been thinking about the directional moisturization problem and I realized that with a mill and some flax sponges we could..."

At that point, Harald's peripherals slowly filtered information to him about things besides Gefjoza and obstacles to reach her, and he. noticed who was sitting next to Gefjoza.

His words froze in his throat as his thoughts and words sharply diverged.

He looks slowly between Gefjoza(@CoatRackRanger ) and Anja(@theknightofiron )

*Lady Freya, I have sacrificed to you in two lands across five years, should this have instilled in you any regard for me I ask that you are merciful in your judgements for any crimes against woman kind that I've committed. *

"Oh, you two know each other.

Neat!"

Sorry about that.

Deciding that Erik and Ragnarr can handle their kids and the fallout from it better than he can, Sigmund steps back to spend time with his wife.

OOC: It is after midnight for me and I want to start relaxing my brain for the night rather than keep it active dealing with this drama so Sigmund is stepping back to let the parents handle their kids

[X] Passive Actions: Take the time to help accompany Moli's Skaldic tellings with song, gather reports from each battlefield and give each warrior the tale they deserve.
-[X] Prepares his siblings for their future duties by offering them to other households to help grow Golden Grass for the year.
-[X] When provided time offer assistance on construction throughout the village. Repairs, new builds, give us much time to the Main Hall as possible excluding other actions.
-[X] Ask Hulfr Hardwood for specially made blocks of wood and begin carving wooden statues to leave by the homes of other villagers. (A statue of Grid in mid flight for her, the Void Hawk injured and chest burrowed crying out in pain for Kare, a nondescript one armed man grasping a sword for Sigmund, a pile of Storm Toads dead with a man standing atop them for Gunnar. For the sea facing warriors give a carving of them individually against a rising tidal wave. Amerion gets one of them holding their flame sprite in their hands. Gefjosa and Njal each get a carving of Torgarr as accurate as possible. Finally the men who he fought besides at the main wall each get a small carving of a tree with Hulfr's shield in its front.)

[] Alyssa Worldwalker Passive Actions
- Take care of and teach children useful skills.
- Do household/ agrarian tasks for Clan
- Clean up the village post battle.
- Experiment with ways to cook golden grass/ maize/ other seemingly toxic forage and fauna, trying to make them edible and palatable.
- Help take care of our native guests, keep them out of trouble, and give them something useful to do while they stay (making gambeson, maybe? If they can make a shirt, it should be teachable). Work on learning their language.
- Continue patrolling the settlement surroundings for danger.
1. You attempt to, but as most parents teach their own children you don't have a lot of takers
2. You do so
3. You do so
4. With the guidance of the Feeder-Ones, you make a number of nice recipes
5. You learn some more of the language
6. You do so
-[X] Passive Action: Put together a hearth in Clan Farfaxung (White Horse)'s home (the house Gunnar made on Tile C3) to honour Smárgneist and to provide the Fire Spirit with a home safe from the elements should something happen to somehow put out the unsheltered flames in Rekavidr proper.
-[X] Passive Action: Try and get their hands on the Necromouser's Notes and spend whatever spare time they have looking them over and trying to make heads or tails of the Necromouser's inscriptions. A pattern, a repeating phrase, a lexicon-- anything. If they have to share the notes-- so be it-- but they will absolutely oppose any attempt made to get rid of or destroy the Necromouser's Notes.
-[X] Passive Action: Spend some time each day communing with Smárgneist and try to deepen the connection between them and the Nascent Fire Spirit / hone their Fire Kunna in the process.
-[X] Passive Action: Inscribe several torches with Smárgneist's name and the runes for fire and protection, and then plant them around the runestone Steinarr made to commemorate those that fell with Gotland. Light said torches with their fire-kunna (to help give Smárgneist a bit of a foothold), and then offer up the flames to Smárgneist as both a home and responsibility, pursuant to the contract made. Ask Smárgneist to additionally use the flames provided by those torches to create a wall of fire encircling the Runestone and its torches if anyone or thing tries to desecrate the Runestone.
-[X] Passive Action: Reluctantly join the celebration-- mostly to look at the glowing lights, and mope about the fact that their one attempt to torch a Goliath got shrugged off and that they couldn't join in torching the Draugr Cavalry due to being reassigned from the pursuit-force to the wall right before the pursuit-group set out by the Hesir himself and... internally scream as they make the connection that they were the only one to be reassigned from the pursuit-group the Hesir had assembled... and that mere hours ago-- they had made a fool of themselves in front of both the Hesir and Valo Halvarson...
-[X] Passive Action: Call upon Alfatella the Askefroa's favour, and ask for repayment in the form of an Ash Seed in the memory of Gotland, one adapted to the local climate and Sedir of the region, and capable of (eventually) bearing its own seeds and growing big enough to tower over/encompass the entirety of Rekavidr and its surroundings. (Mini-Yggdrasil-esque tree idea from the discord). If Alfatella is willing-- ask the Askefroa where in Rekavidr would be best to plant the Ash Seed, and plant it there. Otherwise-- ask the Jarl/Seeress/those with Plant-Kunna if they have any idea of where the best place to plant the Ash Seed is.
1. You do so

...I'm just gonna start only responding to the parts that actually need me to respond to, I reckon.

You receive an Ash Seed from Alfatella as well as her well-wishes--it seems that asking that favor of her has earned you her respect.

-[X] Passive: Begin construction of his farm prioritizing the house.
-[X] Passive: Time for planting. After planting any traditional crops are planted try his hand at growing some of the local edible stuff.
[X] Passive: Plant golden grass preferably in a sheltered area. Which as his Blood Brother Ragnar tells him is the best place to grow it.
-[X] Passive: Have playdates between his children and appropriately aged ones from his blood-brothers and any family who are interested.
-[X] Passive: Practice with his Kunna and see what he can do with it. See if the muck has any uses outside of combat (fertilizer maybe?)
-[X] Passive Observe and study local flora and fauna on his property.
Basic House Acquired
You notice that any interaction between local wildlife is a competition--and an active one at that. Sometimes you'd wake up to find that a plant you'd been studying the day before had withered away overnight--drained dry by a rival.

-[X] Minor Action: work with Hulfr to begin surveying my plot and Hulfr's for threats and interesting details.
-[X] Minor Action: collect a few good smaller logs for use as weapons as well as any rocks big enough to fill her hand.
-[X] Minor Action: spend some time with the orphans in the main hall, help with its construction too.
-[X] Minor Action: attend the party, mostly sticking to the outskirts
Your land doesn't seem to have anything overly interesting on the surface. Though... Looking up in the sky, you notice that there seems to be a weird dark smudge that doesn't like to move.

Weird.

Passives 2 -- Once more, only responding to that which needs it. Everything still happens regardless of that.
-[X] Passive: Rework fields to grow triple the legal minimum of Golden Grass, work with Cousin Erik regarding the necessary Sheltered aspects of it.
-[X] Passive: Teach the twerps how to whistle using lengths of grass, Golden Grass in specific once we get a crop of it.
-[X] Passive: Chat with Ma about how she's handling the new hunting area.
-[X] Passive: Visit Cousin Erik's family, bringing the Golden Grass Pastries Ma forced on Bjarneson to share.
-[X] Passive: Maintain Guard Duty Rotation.
-[X] Passive: Walk Claimed Lands, Sniffing For Opportunities.
-[X] Passive: Occasionally chat with the Locals, when they're still around, to help improve fluency with their language. Also ask about what they know about the crab people.
-[X] Passive: Check in with the family in the aftermath of the Skele-War. They're all obviously physically okay, but how are they mentally?
-[X] Passive: Necromancer Notes! Those sound neat as Hel, if there's a study group going on for that Bjarneson wants in.
Local Language improves

You realize, as you start to study the Necromouser's notes, that you still don't speak the language.

Drat.
[X] Mine stone? I'm not sure if you can mine from the quarry the same turn we took it but yes make it so!
[X] using the best material available minus the nails build a home. If it is practical construct it on the very top of the highest hill.
If the quarry action goes through wait until we have stone to build the house.
[X] Help to clean up the village
[X] Gather Tar for the village
[X] Chop wood for the village
[X] Look around to see if there is any hill dwelling animal that can be tamed to be livestock in the future
Basic House Acquired
+3 Units of Tar
+5 Units of Basic Lumber

-[X]Minor Action: maintain equipment, craft arrows etc
-[X]Minor Action: hunt some of the milder game in the jungle

-[X]Minor action: build a small tannery
Basic Tannery Acquired

-[X] Minor actions:
--[X] Erik and his family sow grain in various patches scattered across his land that were cleared over the summer and winter, hoping for a decent harvest but mostly trying to get a sense for where it will grow well NEXT year. Would do the same with flax, but instead...
--[X] Cultivate golden grass in a sizeable fenced enclosure near the house. (Micro-omake here).
--[X] Erik makes a few home improvements around the house- proper sleeping cabinets, for starters.
--[X] Make sure to keep an eye out around the settlement for threats near the main camp, especially at times when relatively many of the other warriors are away on hunts and raids.
--[X] Erik is going to have to lay his hands on some good stone for the runestone. After negotiation with Steinarr Stone-Licker, who had previously purchased the only suitable stone in town from Ivor Name-Giver, Erik agreed to help Steinarr build a 'building about stones' or something weird like that.
--[X] Make some spare shields to replace some of the ones smashed up in the skeleton fight.
Basic Furniture Acquired

-[X] Passive Actions
--[X] Build a hidden sod house on the highest, most defensible hill around.
--[X] Set up places for Golden Grass to grow similar to those where it is naturally found and plant it there.
--[X] Work on building defenses around my home, including runework and the like.
--[X] Find carnivorous and otherwise dangerous flowers and cultivate them. Present them to the shapecrafter if they are interesting enough.
--[X] Set up a shrine for jungle spirits.
Sod House Acquired (No Materials Used)
Basic Defenses Acquired
Jungle Spirit Shrine Acquired

--[X] Minor Action: Assist Uncle Njal with the clearing of my land. While we're working together, I'd like to ask him questions about his life back in Gotland and what my father and Uncle Villagefeeder (@Sirrocco ) were like before all this.
--[X] Minor Action: Assist Harald (@OneArmedYeti ) and Agmundr (@Aabcehmu ) with fortifying my land. Try not to stare too much. Fail.
--[X] Minor Action: Attend Moli's (@Shard ) dance party with Harald. When she arrives, she hands Harald a palm sized hunk of glowcoral that has been inexpertly carved into the shape of an axe. Her fingers are bandaged. "I couldn't figure out how to carve the first field you'd ever tilled or a suit of armor or a bedbox, sorry, but I hope you'll keep this until you can make a replacement." Gefjosa tried to make it capable of absorbing a little bit of Sorrow every time its touched. Gefjosa doesn't know if she can do that but she tried.
--[X] Villagefeeder Ox Minor Action: When Gunnar (@Guest99 ) returns to life, he will find that someone has taken very good care of his land and farm while he was away. There is also a small lump of glowcoral left on his window sill. When turned at just the right angle, it looks like a child's crude attempt at carving a toad.
---[X] Passive: Spend time at Uncle Torgarr's grave.
---[X] Passive: Check out if the coral is funky or evil with Seer Sight.
---[X] Passive: Weep some but less.
---[X] Passive: Gather rocks from the Quarry after it is cleared.
---[X] Passive: Take possession of Torgarr's field's worth of flax seed and "loan" it to Harald.
Coral doesn't seem evil or anything, which is good

Flax "loaned" to Harald

-[X] Grid has been busy establishing a place in this lands and has not spent a lot of time with her younger brother Vlos, spend some time with him.
-[X] Ask the seeress to take a look at the Black Communication Orb Grid got from the Necromouser and ask what it does and how to use it
-[X] Since Grid has the ability to go the to Spirit World now with Void-Step, ask the seeress what to expect in the spirit world and what important information she is aware of, also if Grid should bring anything for an adventure to the spirit world
-[X] Hunt minor beasts and store their blood as blocks in my flygja to use to power my rune items
-[X] Create a Rune Compass with wood and blood/paint to locate the Void Eagle
