If we go with that list for the hunt, we'll need to do some reassigning. Hmmm.

I think we pull more from the Relief forces, adding Hulfr to Group #5 and Ingunn to Group #3, and move...probably Brynjar over to Group #3, even things out a tad (in addition to the Group #4 reinforcements already planned). That would look like this:

Necromancer Hunt: [Rikard Villeson][Eirny Khairesdottir][Gunnar Toad-Terror][Grid Frostdottir][Dyri Seaborne][Krakr Gudrunson][Kare Sky-Dancer] (4 Aspect Water) (Note: One of Sigmeund's ants would be sent for real-time communication)

Group #1 (Mostly Ranged Offense, Main Wall): [Skuli Draugrhater][Ragnarr Fair-Spoken][Sigmund Sigurdson][Alyssa Worldwalker][Agmundr Idskapadr] (2 Aspect Water)
Group #2 (Defense, Main Wall): [Erik Hardhead][Akali Nightsong][Njal Ulfson][Torgarr Villagefeeder][Harald Logarson][Gefjosa Aslaugsdottir] (3 Aspect Water)
Group #3: (Ranged and Other Offense, Corner) [Fernweh Engenweiss][Liv Sweetwater][Valo Halvarson][Brynjar Bonespear][Ingunn] (4 Aspect Water)
Group #4: (Defense, Sea-Facing Wall)[Bjorn Bjornsson][Erik Olsen][Amlóði Hårekson][Hrósvior Stigandsson][Gudrun ???dottir] (3 Aspect Water)
Group #5: (Ranged Specialists, Relay Killing Team)[Oddr Gunnwaldson][Moli Spotlight][Bjorn Drakeslayer][Steinarr Stonelicker][Amerion Wardson][Hulfr] (3 Aspect Water)

Relief: [Arnleif Whistler][Vatn Galtison][Unnur Clean]

Reserves: [Ake Silverleaf][Agnes Olsen][Lindjorn Torbholm][Runa Venomtongue][Ingegärd Svæindottir][Katla Hrafndottir]

Casualties: [Bjorn Bjarneson][Ivor Name-Giver][Anja Giantbone][Njall Redaxe]

EDIT: Adding Aspect Water assignments.

Does anyone object to their placement here or think there's a better idea?

I think, alongside the necromancer hunt, it might be valuable to build a retreating opponents hunters? I'm guessing the necromancer hunt isn't going to be focusing on killing the survivors.

Having the survivor skeletons get back as we reach the necromancer would be... potentially bad?

The skeleton cavalry are still unaccounted for. This might be a feigned retreat to bait us out of position for the skeleton cavalry to strike.

think there's a better idea?

Harald supports pulling defenders off the northern defenses and creating a small group to harry the retreating force, dealing what damage they can but standing ready to retreat if they're turned on.

By the time the army can make it back to our defenses, hopefully the harrying force will have made it back to their posts.

Sea defenses should be left strong.

They are really slow and we're sending flyers. I don't think this is a realistic possibility.

This, however, is no bad notion. Lemme see if I can work something out.

The Heroic Death of Torgarr Village-Feeder
During the battle, a stray spear came hurtling from the hordes with Gefjosa in its sights. Frozen in fear, there was nothing Gefjosa could do--nothing but watch as Torgarr took it for her. Sacrificing his life for hers, he met his fated day with his head held high.

(Torgarr's player requested to be given his fated day as he could no longer participate)

Well, shit. No way to escape a Fated Day, sadly. We'll honor his sacrifice.

On the subject of tactics, the Harrying Plan would likely look like this, with the harrying force basically consisting of Group #5 (to continue harrying at range) plus Skuli and Agmundr from Group #1 and Akali and Harald from Group #2 added to help in melee just in case. It also adds Vatn Galtison to Group #2, since with Torgarr's tragic death, they need more people.

Necromancer Hunt: [Rikard Villeson][Eirny Khairesdottir][Gunnar Toad-Terror][Grid Frostdottir][Dyri Seaborne][Krakr Gudrunson][Kare Sky-Dancer][Njal Ulfson][Gefjosa Aslaugsdottir] (5 Aspect Water) (Note: One of Sigmund's ants would be sent for real-time communication)

Casualties: [Bjorn Bjarneson][Ivor Name-Giver][Anja Giantbone][Njall Redaxe]
Fated Day: [Torgarr Villagefeeder]

I will say for the record, that I think this might well be a trap, but with that group, I suspect they can butcher most traps...just be aware a cavalry assault from the sea is very possible and plan accordingly.

Do people think that seems good, or what?

Report edited to reflect the loss.

Harald intentionally leaves Gefjosa being the specific target of the attack that Torgarr took out of his report.

He's felt guilty for a kinsmans death before, and if she is to bear that weight publically he will let her take it up herself.

For the record, before he goes over to Group #3, Ragnarr also orders Brynjar to reduce the bones of the skeletons we destroyed to a fine powder. Just in case.

The Harrying Force should also destroy any bones they come close to on their way. It's been suggested that the cavalry might be able to bring back the casualties via their own Relays and nobody wants that.

So I am still catching up with developments since much of the battle happened in my absence because of how work works for me, but I think I need to roll a d6 maybe?

The d6 rolls after the threadmark regarding the Draugr retreat are those with ranged-attacks that are firing parting shots at the Draugr. The first round of combat was resolved via private messages/conversations with each 'battlegroup.' After suffering losses- they're now retreating, so most of us with ranged-attacks are firing parting shots at them as they run.

I believe Group #2, which his character Erik was a part of, also had to roll to avoid injury.

Congratulations, you're somewhere in between "Cosmetic damage to face in one of the places that leaves a cool scar" and "Got stabbed, but only a little".

He was in the Wall Defense group, who actually took enemy contact and got stuck in.
