You nosy bug
OOC:I do not actually mind :3
Agnes leans back from the question. While they were neighbors, they had not really interacted since the landing. And yet Agnes had been fiercely proud of the poem he had made that had done Bo justice against the Void-Eagle... Agnes seems to visibly give up. Bo and Hilda immediately look up at her in concern, while Aino looks around in confusion. She looks down at them fondly, before kneeling in front of Bo.
"Why not try and find Sindri, Bo? Maybe you can find if Halfr managed to make use of that list you made." Bo grinned before dashing off. She turns to Hilda, "Please take Aino to see Hrafn. He will be under the table inside," While not a question, Agnes did look up in confirmation that her children could play inside. Ljufa was surprised, but nodded. Agnes looked back at her daughters, "ok?"
Hilda pouted, but agreed. Once secure that the children were taken care of, she turned back to Moli and Ljufa, her face set.
"Back in Gotland, we were primarily artisans, Cabinetmaker and Seamstress, plying the same trade that we do here. But my Erik was special, for he was also the son of
Bo Dragonteeth." Nodding at the shocked gazes in satisfaction, Agnes continued, "A slayer of dragons and Hird of Hallr Blackhand himself, Bo was as courageous and fierce as a man could be." Agnes snorted, "Had a fierce craving for caramels too. So imagine his surprise when he found out that Erik did not share his passion at all for monster-slaying but in humble whittling and wood carving?"
Agnes softened, lost in her memories, a smile growing on her face.
"Imagine my surprise when he gave both his blessing and greatest treasure at our wedding? He gave Erik his axe, forged by the dwarf Svarthi and made of Egg Iron with designs of dragons on both sides. The most beautiful weapon I have ever seen and he gave it up so Erik could keep us safe. Erik had nothing but affection and love for his father. So even when he rather scratch new designs in the ground he would practice hard with the axe and shield day in and out. He was happy."
The smile disappeared on her face.
"Then the Jomsviking came. You know much of the rest. By the time the news reached us, it was already too late. We tried to save what we could, but in the end we all ran, all while the Dragonkiss lay clean and bloodless on his back and it has continued to be as if mocking him. It has been an unhappy weight ever since." Bitterness enter her voice, "Imagine that, a wedding gift that ends up being the very reason my husband leaves his family. What a sick twist of fate."
Wiping her nose, Agnes refuses to let her tears drop. She stares fiercely into the eyes of Moli, uncaring of how brightly they shined.
"So you ask why Erik
wandered off? My Erik left on a quest to break that Hel-wracked curse that is on the only thing he has left of his father. My Erik is going on a journey just as his forefathers did and become a warrior as great as his father was! My Erik swore that he would come back when he become worthy of me. H-he
swore he would come back to me. So I will wait for him and make a home fit for the man I know he can be."
Agnes leans heavily on her bladed staff, spent. "I hope that story was worthy of your service Moli Spotlight. I am...not sure I have a better one."
