also there's that whole shortage of wood situation

Yeah. That's a factor.

@I.F. Ister given that the wood is enough to make a house, would it be enough to make the full kits Hulfr is suggesting per unit? 1 Kit per unit that is. And could we get more than one per unit if we were making less stuff? Like...would it be more suits of armor and shields per unit if we were just doing armor + shields?

Enough wood to make a house is kinda a lot of wood. You'd think we could get a fair number of things like suits of armor out of one.

-[x] [Minor 7] gather wood from claim

[X] Amlóði Tooth-taker's plan

[x] Gefjosa Aslaugsdottir Winter 2 Actions
-[x] [Major] Join the expedition to the mountains with Anja, Igrunn, Ivor, Kare, and possibility Krakr. Hopefully Seeing Eyes will keep us alert to obvious spiritual dangers, Improved Durability will mitigate physical hardships, Plow Kunna can clear blocked paths or make new ones, and semi-magical farming will help... somehow.
--[x] [Villagefeeder Minor] Build a farm on my land, incorporated into the terraced fortifications that Harald made last season. Ox Fylgja and Improved Durability should both let me work long hours on this. Plow Kunna 2 counts as a Tier 2 Farming Implement. Combined with Farming 2, hopefully I can make something very productive and impressive. Use bonemeal. Leave room to grow Three Sisters in the future but try to see if any of the local stuff can grow in this weather and farm that.
--[x] [Minor 1] Go with Akali (@Abensur ) to provide Seeing Eyes for his claim investigation. Farming expertise may help identify useful plants. While working with him, ask Akali about the things that he remembers and misses from Gotland.
--[x] [Minor 2] Assist Ragnarr (@DeadmanwalkingXI ) with the excavation by hauling stone back to the village. Already discussed factors that aid with manual labor should come into play. Spend a little more time than needed near where Harald (@OneArmedYeti ) is working.
--[x] [Minor 3] If anyone dies during the season, Gefjosa will spend time taking care of their land and property. If there isn't a farm, she will make a small one.
--[x] [Minor 4] If given egging-frogs, put them in the coral pond and do my best to make the habitat harmonious and beneficial for both lifeforms. Farming has husbandry components and should be relevant. Plow Kunna may also be useful in terraforming the shape of the pond, if necessary. Should anything start going wrong, go to Liv Tiffersdottir (@Nando ) for water, Amlóði Hårekson (@wabbitking ) for swampiness, or Akali (@Abensur ) for animal advice.
---[x] [Passive 1] Practice Glima with Uncle Njal (@mythfan12 ) and Agmundr (@Aabcehmu ). Eventually invite Akali (@Abensur ) to join after he walks pasted, pointedly whistling, for the nth time.
---[x] [Passive 2] Approach Gunnar Toad-Terror (@Guest99 ) and ask about training under his increased gravity field. She has an idea for a martial style that such experience would be crucial for.
---[x] [Passive 3] Help out with Uncle Njal (@mythfan12 ) improving my shack. Hide the snot blanket.
---[x] [Passive 4] Wander near Moli's (@Shard ) house whenever I get the chance to see if he's done anything with the coral yet.
---[x] [Passive 5] Help out Fernweh (@Ralakesh ) with growing flowers around my plot. Try to incorporate flowers into farm into trenchworks in to pond irrigation and so on and so forth to create space the displaced spirits might want to return to.
---[x] [Passive 6] Somehow, in between all this, find a little time to spend drawing, gardening, sparring, or just talking with my two best friends.
---[x] [Passive 7] Visit Uncle Torgarr's (@Sirrocco ) grave. Tell him about friends and adventures and boy troubles and all the things I wish he was here for. Weep about the same amount as before but smile a little too.

Okay... a bit of a dozy of a season, sorry.

Just for reference, I know that isn't really the way that the game works but I've been structuring my actions as Major, Minor, and Passive. Major is obviously major, the big thing I'm doing the season. Minor are smaller things but ones that I still hope to have some mechanical effect. Passives are actions that are intended either to be purely roleplay or justifications for future traits. IDK what the point of explaining that is but I sure did do it. Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk.

@I.F. Ister

Hey, so @Walliseatscheese and I have a clan name for Bjorn Bjarnesson and Erik Hardhead.

Clan Hœttrlág, that is, "Clan Danger Log."

Actually a happy coincidence that the two of us are known for the Time Gator hunt; the clan's named after Great-Grandpa Hróarr Woodchucker, a man deadly beyond plausible belief with a tactical assault caber.

Grow Three Sisters, mostly, but also try more of the strange local stuff we've found.

The rain is currently killing anything we plant due to steaming it to death. Please do not use our limited supply of maize while that is ongoing. You can still definitely make a cool plot, and could aim for solutions, but best not experiment with a limited resource.

Also, I meant to ask, @DeadmanwalkingXI @I.F. Ister @Guest99 , did the time I spent working on Gunnar's plot last season upgrade it at all beyond baseline?

IF's decision, I just put the results he posts onto the sheets, mostly.

Already added to the sheet, for the record. I'll add the translation.

Erik Hardhead, this winter, delivering a piece of furniture:

"Hey, Moli, ever heard of anybody growing plants in a glass box?"

@Shard

[X] Bjorn "Bone Tyrant" Bjarneson, Winter 2
-[X] Major: The Crab Hunt Begins: Alongside Gudrun Rekavidrsdottir, meet up with Crablone and his new blood to go track down and Hunt the Bounty Targets he's identified.
-[X] Passive 1: While out and about, collect Wood from the trees as we pass them by and stuff them into my Fylgja Storage.
-[X] Passive 2: Guard Duty, Watch Duty, etc etc, join the rotation as usual.
-[X] Passive 3: Spare some time to help Cousin Erik on his Land Walking, see if an extra hand and a keen nose can help out.
-[X] Passive 4: Check in with Ma, see how she's been holding up. Try to impress her with my latest Hunts, fail, per usual. : V
-[X] Passive 5: Check in on what the Twerps have been up to. There was something about two boys getting into trouble with each other to the point that there was a duel over it! They weren't involved in that, right? Also what's this I'm hearing about you playing with bones until they break and not bringing them back to me to get them fixed up!
-[X] Passive 6: Go over the Skeleton Army Fight Locations and see about collecting as much of the Bones as remains, and shape them into Cubes for later use. They might as well be used for something helpful now that they've been put to rest.
-[X] Passive 7: Visits to Cousin Erik and his family! How has Cousin Trym doing? We should arrange for the entire family to meet up, exchange stories and food and the like!
-[X] Passive 8: While About, set up some traps for various game, small and large, and make sure to visit them at quite regular intervals on, stealthily, to get a sense of how quickly other predators move in on trapped prey and "free" corpses.
-[X] Passive 9: Properly process whatever kills I get this season, for their pelts, skins, meats, organs, offal, and Bones, and see about turning any bones into tools that might be wanted or needed. Bone Needles last a bit, and Bone Nails might not be the worst option available to us.
-[X] Passive 10: Take inspiration of Cousin Erik's own pre-planning system and see about preparing fields for the Three Sisters (plus Maize?) and Flax as well, if those seeds are being shared around next growing season.
-[X] Passive 11: Continue taking the time to Walk his own Lands while Sniffing about. Maybe he doesn't find anything. Probably he doesn't find anything. But a walk about is useful for settling the mind and for showing the flag as it were.

-[X] Passive 6: Go over the Skeleton Army Fight Locations and see about collecting as much of the Bones as remains, and shape them into Cubes for later use. They might as well be used for something helpful now that they've been put to rest.

For the record, we have almost universally reduced the bones from the skeleton army to bonemeal, which we will be using as fertilizer, so there won't be much left.

Erik Hardhead, this winter, delivering a piece of furniture:

"Hey, Moli, ever heard of anybody growing plants in a glass box?"

@Shard
...
-[X] Minor: Moli will make an experimental mini-Greenhouse (connected to his main house) and tries growing Golden Grass inside, with the hope that in doing so he can grow plants without the Winter Rain murdering everything inside. And possibly other plants in time.

You know that does sound like a good idea. In fact,

-[X] Minor: Moli calls on Erik Hardhead (@Simon_Jester) to fulfill his offer of making furniture for his home.

I think I can see where you got it IC :p

[X] Kare Sky-Dancer's Actions, Winter Year 2
-[X] Major Action: Accompany Anja Giantbone on her Lightning Punching adventure
-[X] Minor Action 1: Scout out the Oni's Quarry from as far away as possible while still getting a decent understanding of what's changing over there, flee immediately if discovered.
-[X] Minor Action 2: Take lumber from my uncleared plot of land and deliver it to Hulfr Hardwood, avoid clearing the entire area and leave some trees for next turn.
-[X] Minor Action 3: create a pair of compasses like Grid's, giving 1 to the general public in case of another Void Eagle attack and keeping the other for myself.
-[X] Minor Action 4: Create a rune inscribed wooden amulet with the words "The wearer of this amulet can never have their bravery or their wisdom taken from them by external influence" and "Harmful Magic will not effect my wearer."
-[X] Minor Action 5: inscribe "Arrows shot from me will always strike exactly what Kare Sky-Dancer wants them to" and "Magic cannot turn aside my attacks or afflict others with them." on my bow.

In the end, it was only over a bit of ribbing. The typo was unimportant.

I wonder Moli can do tempered glass though.

I wanted to use it for thematic reasons, but if he is too busy, wood shrine it is then.

One kit per unit? Yeah, that's entirely valid. It's 1 unit of material for 1 end product, that's the rule

Well, it's certainly used for communication over long distances. Marking up a copy of the local map, the Seeress makes a note of three locations that show some resonance with the orb. She mentions that there are others, but none nearby.
I'm not sure why I felt so gratified when my map finally got used IC for the first time ever. So warm.
@Shard are you still cool with Moli helping Valo with his Runestone plan?
Yeah, Moli is still cool with it. Will go edit in a bit.
Oh no I was poking fun at Moli's insecurities that are entirely inside his head :V
Moli taking Glima 3 next season confirmed.
moli first drengr to break the lvl 3 barrier just so they can be better at glima than anyone else
Moli: What did I hear, ears mine must be lying!

Sounds of sharpening glass in the background.
---[x] [Passive 4] Wander near Moli's (@Shard ) house whenever I get the chance to see if he's done anything with the coral yet.

Moli: I heard a man called Spotlight might be trying it out!

(Greenhouses! Glowcoral Aquariums! Just need fish to complete it!)

He probably can.

Moli is in glass mass production mode. You see, the maternal side of his family (Valo, Stonelicker, Hardwood, Hrolfr) have.. charming eccentricities to them. Moli's is glass, something he hasn't been able to.. work on.

Until now.

Hey, I do not know if you saw my request earlier.
@Shard I wish to purchase some glass made from the sand here for construction purposes. Alternatively a glass figurine?
I am hoping to build a shrine to Catl-Ossi, and felt it would be thematic to be built it out of material found on the beach. Can I ask you for help?
