-[X] Passive 2 - Survey his land for exploitable flora, ESPECIALLY a novel color of dyes so his commision with Agnes would have another option, harvesting a single piece of Wood after making a small offering to the spirits of the Land and delivering it to Moli.
-[X] Passive 3 - Assign Mushroom Man 1 to the the Tier 1 Farm plot on Ragnar's land to care for Winter Farm tasks such as he be able, plant Mushroom Man 2(Harald asks Hrolfr if they can be grown in Winter and if they can care for planting another of themselves first), and stand by at Ragnar's house to compress soil that they're excavating in The Quest for Stone for transport to Harald's land for a future project.
-[x] Passive 4 - In a small bit of dirt right against the side of Ragnar's house, Harald will plant some of the seeds Agnes gave him for yellow dye. He does not care if he has to bring it inside, or move it to other sides of the house with his Kunna, or start a fire next to it, or sleep huddled around it, or dump half of his glory into Farming Tricks each day to keep it alive through Winter: In the name of his father He Will Have Yellow Dye By Summer. (Enough for one article of clothing and its embroidery)
-[x] Passive 5 - Harald will help Moli process wood, using his Kunna as an abrasive tool to help literally sand wood by spinning sandy loam at high speeds.
-[x] Passive 6 - Harald accompanies Agnes to hunt for driftwood and protect her. As he will be on *dead(but not the good kind that brings life), still, inert, worthless* Sand he ensures to bring extra Soil in case he has to fight and to store the wood. -[X] Minor Action 2: Take lumber from my uncleared plot of land and deliver it to Hulfr Hardwood, avoid clearing the entire area and leave some trees for next turn.
-[X] Minor Action 3: create a pair of compasses like Grid's, only using the Void Eagle feathers I found in the mountains instead of using skin with the modified wording being "Will point in the direction to the closest alive beast that is the same race as the beast's feather that is attached to this compass" giving 1 to the general public in case of another Void Eagle attack and keeping the other for myself.

I'm doing this one very quickly, please poke me if you think it unfair
I think it is fair. Sigmund is a lot stronger than the other two so getting less Ordstirr is reasonable. That said, do we get anything for my boasting and truthful embellishments of how the hunt went? Especially since we killed a beast without suffering any injuries at all while the last hunt of one, which was of similar size to this one, killed half of the hunting party, a hunting party that was twice the size of our own hunting party.

On wood supplies: I think everyone who gained 1 Tier 1 Wood did so with the understanding they were adding it to the communal stockpile based on my PSA we were running low and/or to build things they built this season. If anyone wants to just keep the Tier 1 Wood, say so and I'll add it to your sheet, but otherwise I'm not adding all that just to then delete it and put it back in the common store.

Other stuff from Passives and the Hunt has been added.

@DeadmanwalkingXI bjorn comes up to ragnarr
"hersir, i have found strange tracks near the village."
he will point out the tracks he found.

Ragnarr will nod and suggest maybe getting some people together to investigate. He has no skill as a tracker personally, and will be busy dealing with the crabs soon, but if people found a strange beast it's likely either useful in its own right or could be given to the shapecrafter for a reward.

Kol and the Cow (Guest99)
Kol and the Cow
(A side story to build up story for my back-up character, who lives with his cousins Gunnar and Liv)

In the hills of Gunby, home of Gunnar Toad-Terror, set in the Settlement of Rekavidr, in the land of Hakistadr, there lived a boy named Kol. Red of hair and strong of arm, Kol was said to have been the spitting image of Thor himself, able to lift an entire cow over his shoulder by the time he was 8.

Alas, though great in strength and girth, Kol was a lonely child, even those twice his age struggling to match his incredible might, many of his fellow children had been injured in their games in the past, causing them to grow distant and afraid. Such it was that Kol's only true friend was his cousin Gunnar's cow, Njalla.

One day, as he took Njalla out to pasture, the young Kol cried "Oh Njalla! Whatever am I to do! The other children are too small and frail, and break so easily when I play with them! However am I to make friends?"

In reply, Njalla, the gentle cow, said "Oh Kol, sweet and gentle soul, here, climb upon my back, and hold tight, and we shall show them a sight that they shall forever remember" And as he did so, Njall began to buck and skip with great vigour, flattening the earth as she did so. So mighty was her step that all the children of Rekavidr came out to see what was happening, and what they saw was Kol, strong of arm and red of hair, holding on tight to a wildly bucking cow as she bucked and thrashed, attempting to throw him from her back, but still he clung on.

"Me next! Me next!" Came the cries of the children, and so it came to pass that many of the children of Rekavidr rode upon the back of sweet Njalla the cow, but none could ever match the length of time for which Kol could stay on, for he possessed a stronger arm than any of them, and, more importantly, a greater bond with the cow. From that day on, Kol was famed among his fellow children as the CowRider, and never again did he struggle to make friends.

Decided these today in Discord:

Agmundr's plot is named Agstrǫnd (Edge-Shore), his house is Hatimbradr (High-Timbered), and the forge is named Gneistahus (Spark-House, because Smargneisti lives there now).

-[X] Passive 4: Explore the surroundings for anything that might be usable for brewing (berries and other fruits, herbs and stuff). Maybe someone has a nana they're open to pass along?
Passive 5: With permission from Fernweh (@Ralakesh) Liv will harvest one unit of lumber from their plot, and add it to the communal stash. In exchange she promises "any part, any time [she] want[s ]" of a future kill of hers, to be a sacrifice to the jungle spirits.

-[X] Minor 4 - Harvest 1 Wood from Steinarr's plot as long as he doesn't object @Ulvlar
-[X] Minor 5 - Spend significant time helping Hulfr make shields, armor, and other stuff.
-[X] Minor 6 - Rune up my own spear (likely one of the ones Hulfr is making, as they are high quality) with "Like Gungnir, I never miss the mark." on one side of the haft, "I am as difficult to break as the boughs of Yggdrasil" on the other side, and "Armor never slows or bars my way." on the spearhead.
-[X] Minor 7 - Make an amulet with the following rune phrase on it: "My wearer is swift as Sleipnir's step."
-[X] Minor 8 - Make a sacrifice for the gift of Runes. Probably Ordstirr, but exact amount depends on various factors.

-[X] Minor 2- Materials. To do maintenance, Stigg needs to get much raw materials, suck as rope, tar, nails, and lumber.
-[X] Minor 3 - Weapon Upkeep. A blade (or axe) is only as good as it's wielder, a normal blade more so than a enchanted one. It must polished and kept sharp, so it doesn't not fail it's user in their time of need. Stig takes some time to do just that.
-[X] Minor 4- in exchange for Runes being drawn on Stigg's Axe, he will be teaching Astrid, Kare Skydancers adopted daughter, about Axeplay. Axeplay 1.

@I.F. Ister I'm about to send my PM to you.
I just wanted to see if anyone could take a once over on my idea for a runic inscription.

Be they upon the waves or under. Be they man or monster. Be they clad in scale or shell. Should they wish death upon seedlings of ash and elm, may they be confounded and turned away by Net-Holder's domain. Yet, be they kith or kin. Be they friend, not foe. Be they lost, not found. Let them be guided to Driftwood's home.

"Be they upon the wave or under or inbetween" is my first suggestion for a correction, unless that loophole is intentional.

I am uncertain how Rune Paragraphs work compared to runic running sentences, but you might want to have each sentence have a much more direct and obvious connection to each other, as technically speaking if we're going by Literal Genie Computer Language rules, the first three sentences don't quite do anything or provide any definitions, leading to the fourth sentence to be immensely vague in its defining parameters for "They", with the fifth, sixth, and seventh sentences having the same connection issues and leaving the eighth sentence be just as vague in its defining parameters for "They".

If you're allowed to be Poetic As Shit about things though it looks good.

Announcement of Quest Closing
First things first, I would like to say that I'm sorry for the disappointment this announcement will bring.

Second things second, I am no longer having fun running this quest. It has simply gotten too out of hand for me to deal with--even with helpers--and my stress level is rising quite dramatically.

As such, I am going to step back from control over this quest. I encourage others to follow in my footsteps and create their own versions of NQCE. The community was great and the fun I had was a lot, it's just that the stress isn't worth pursuing it further.

In short, thank you to everyone for participating. An extra big thank you to those of you who volunteered as helpers and, though never used, the co-QM team.

Thanks for giving it a go at least! It was an ambitious project, and there's no shame in stepping it down when it blew up beyond all reason!

I'm still excited to see NorseQuest return in the future!

Damn. It was fun while it lasted.

Player comments: It was an amazing quest idea and execution. As you said the pace was...hectic to say the least. I think this could be feasibly run for a long time. If it'd had a bunch of Co-QMs from the start with their own characters with built-in responsibilities/spheres-of-control it could've smoothened out some of the rough spots and divided up the burden.

I look forward to the mainline quest's return.

Thanks for being a wonderful GM to this absolute logistical nightmare of a riot.

Definitely did something i dont think many other quest gms could do. ❤️

This Quest was super fun, and we got to the point where our community was basically self-sustaining and stable, so I feel like this is actually a fine ending? Like...not everything might go our characters ways, but the refugees of Gotland likely continued to live in these lands for some time and became a regional power.

Or that's my headcanon anyway.

My headcanon is that this place is free of the reach of the Enemy and of Steel and probably also Odr, and we were Odin's cheatiest cheaty cheat that he's gonna whip out of his back pocket in a few centuries after our society will develop.

He also gets to farm more dead soldiers for his army on the way.
