My plans/hopes and dreams for Agmundr:

I was hoping to pick up Iron Kunna, Fire Kunna, and a Muna to let me do combat-speed smithing at the end of this season.

Next season, I was going to make some magic blacksmithing equipment that would let me smith even better. Then I was going to start working through the Priority Projects that I owed to Hulfr, Amerion, Moli, Ravensight, and Smargneisti, and then start taking commissions.

I was going to thoroughly search through Agstrond with a shovel in hand and using my fylgja's new powers of treasure-finding.

I was going to start hunting new creatures with my fylgja's help and giving them to Hrolfr in return for improved Speed and Reflexes.

I was going to work on getting my Hand Kunna, Multiweapon Fighting, Glima, Speed, and Reflexes all up to rank 3, as well as make 27 swords, including a few magical ones. Then I was going to pit my swords against one another, until just one remained. Then I'd go hunt a full-horn Onigar on my own, using their whole body other than their horns to empower the reforging of the champion-sword, sacrificing the remnants of the 26 other swords in the process, then using the leftover horns to decorate the reforged sword's guard and hilt.

After that, I'd alternate between doing commissions, going on adventures with my blodar, and going on personal quests to acquire high-quality materials and toadvance my skills and traits.

Oh, also at some point I would have worked it out with Jaguar whether Agmundr and Grid would get married.

I was also thinking of building a nice house on top of my platform, and a fence, and eventually some walls and floors for the platform's structure to make it into a sort of tower.

Erik Away Poetry Bits (Shard)
Erik Away Poetry Bits

The Erik Away adventure was inspiring and got me to write up a whole bunch of poetry. Here they are from the PMs.

Rekavidr's Winter Rain

Sun-dawn spring fawn summer,
Still to winter we till.

Nothing be we saw before,
Not snow now we saw fall,

Chill flesh it chose in flash,
Clatter clap ground splatter.

Rain felt pain, railed against,
Rather now steam streaming.

---

Erik's Journey (Pt 1)

Proof of praise-worth for roof,
Pushes him through bushes.

Mountain monster-fountain,
More prey to slay and flay.

Onward on that trail drawn,
Only lonely end saw:

Bathe in fine battle-wine,
Born anew and blade-worn.

---

Explosive Karta

Crowned crest freed drowned aground,
Caught scent by unsought foe.

Wrought offer of peace naught,
War swore came crashing club.

Blood-glory glow shrouds step,
Buys lies of bleak weakness.

Slice arm slit up step twice,
Sudden heart goes and blows.

---

Hulfr's Wooden Ball

Swish of hand, swap and shown,
Shaped hollow good-wood sphere.

Gifted dreams to see drift,
Gave instead swift-form-rift.

Fight for fore-might it made,
Fateful fathers fought fraught,

All for wonder ball-wood,
At day's dawn fades away.

---

Hunt for Eric (Originally Here)

Your leal tale leaves me pale,
You'll see husband by Yule.

Will chase space with traced pace,
With whift of drift-word guide.

Through trembling trees I'll breeze,
Tear through proud's shroud in rags.

Dragonteeth, Dragonkiss,
Dream son's dread, I'll deem found.

I think most folks know what Harald's dream was:

He was going to marry the only farmer his age he'd ever met better than him.

He was going to build the house that the Jomsviking burned, and he was going to fill it with everything he missed from home.

He was going to give him and his sons a place in the story of this place by making a generational oath to guard a spiritually significant site.

The last one started because after Torgarr died, he desperately wanted to teach Gefjosa the first lesson of Soil: Death Feeds Life, but he knew she couldn't hear it. So he was going to build a memorial next to a garden and he was going to Show her.

@CoatRackRanger , @theknightofiron , thought you two'd get a kick out of that out of that last bit up there.

So basic overview of Harald's backstory in case anyone's curious:

Fundamental conceits of the character, starting with the two things that I think are most important for playing a teenage boy
1: Who was their childhood friend/crush/obsession: Astrid Ingridsdotter, child of the second largest landholding farmer in Gotland. Spunky, confident, little crazy. Grid reminded Harald of her so much he couldn't bear to be in the same room with her aside from big gatherings. They were each others first love, and it was Both of their dads finding them in the barn that caused Harald's celibacy oath. (Note: yall it was normal middle school makeouts like the cool kids were doing in 8th grade, nobody freak out). He lied when Gefjosa asked him what he left behind in Gotland, he was thinking of Astrid's corpse laying in that field and using flowery language for first partner. This was almost completely healed, besides the lightening of the scars that would come with time.
2: Why didnt it work out: I didnt have to come up with this one, IF softballed it to me. She died. How do I make it traumatic though: They were building a rabbit hutch for their new farm after Harald has a succesfful raiding season and they married, and he forgot the nails. Because he forgot the nails, he and Logar were on the wrong side of the farm when the violence started. It was a big farm... This was most of the way to healing.
3: Harald was born a rich boy, raised a rich boy, and he fundamentally didn't know how to operate without that structure. This is the core reason he lived with Ragnar for 2 years instead of clearing land and building a house. Fundamentally this wasn't gonna be fixed in less than 5-7 years.
4: Harald feels unworthy of his father's inheritance, because he was so busy crying when he landed on the fleeing ship that he didn't stop almost all of it from washing into the sea. His father sent like 800 pounds of Soil from Gotland with him to start a garden and build it into a farm over time, Harald ended up with a single handful to keep his Style alive. This was just starting to heal.
5: I'm....keeping this one secret for a little while longer. As a treat, and in hope.

3 and 4 were the ones being triggered to make him consider going to try fighting something stronger than him alone.

For the remainder of Erik Away, Moli would have returned with Erik - Plus an Onigar Lady to introduce to Rikard. Given the number of calls for an Onigar Waifu it seemed pretty likely we would have gotten a whole lotta duels soon after. Though I think Rikard would have gotten the win.

After that adventure Moli would have spoken only in poetry form, which would have been fun deciphering.

For the record, IF has also made some Discord statements about doing another, different, Quest in the NorseQuest universe, NorseQuest: Outlaw, a more traditional Quest featuring an Icelandic man who has been framed for theft and outlawed, and intends to prove his innocence. He'd be an existing guy with existing preferences and abilities which would constrain our choices (though I imagine we'd get some input into how those abilities increase). The mechanics would likely be somewhere between the original NQ and this Quest, but leaning more towards this one.

That probably happens sooner than a return to the main Quest, and should be fun for people who enjoy the Norse and their cultivation, though he obviously won't likely be traveling to Haskistadr.

Speaking of this, it's started.
