Following up on this current discussion... is the amount something Byrnjar can feasibly contribute to by just amplifying the rate at which his own body produces blood, to as extreme an extent as he can feasibly maintain?
I don't think you're reasonably going to be able to cheat the metaphysical aspects of the sacrifice, unless you want to be stuck using Orthstirr to replenish your missing blood or something similar in the future.

I mean. Who ever said i'm sacrificing the blood instead of just giving something i have excess of to someone in need? Like, blood and bones are Brynjar's whole thing right now, and I already confirmed I can produce both outright courtesy of the northern expedition.

Blood is only as powerful because you're literally sacrificing your life force, if you can just make more it devalues the blood and therefore the magical potency of it.

To be fair, the request is large quantities of preferably fresh blood, and not blood from any specific source or harvested in any special way. The quantity seems to matter more than the potency right now.

Beyond the blood thing, we should make some fortifications and/or a way to alert the settlement's people of an attack. The big beast only got warded off because we had five people on duty, but there's better things that one can do than just standing guard.

Fernweh Enginweiss (1 PT Flower Kunna, 1 PT Foraging, 1 PT Fey birth)
One day, a poor woman of Gute tribe gave birth to a son. And all was well, until, after a bad harvest, it became apparent to her that the child was a changeling, and her real son, without a doubt, was taken by nisse into their underground lairs. Saying that, she left the changeling in a meadow. Unfortunately, that woman never found her real son. Some suspected then that the woman abandoned her child out of necessity, not having enough food to feed her son, and spun a tale about the changeling to justify her actions. A deed foul, but at the same time understandable and, in a way, unavoidable.

However, the son she left behind miraculously survived, drinking milky sap of flowers instead of mother's milk and eating insects instead of bread. Now, he is a young man, no different than any other Norse of his age. Perhaps then, the poor woman was right, for no human child can survive Gotland wilderness without a home.

I made a character.

[X] Gefjosa second action: I'll take the rocks and trees we removed from clearing the land and put them towards this proposed fortification. Will also clear the land for it with Plow Kunna, if that's going to be required. And do the heavily lifting of putting the raw/worked materials in place.

Report: Northern Marshes Scouted (Guest99)
Mission Report: Northern Marshes Scouted
Gunnar returns from his expedition carrying the body of a horse sized toad over his back, a number of spines jutting from its skin. He tells the tale of how he encountered a great number of the beasts in a marsh to the north, capable of releasing clouds of boiling steam which they then electrify with electricity released from the spines along their back, which then need to be recharged by the newly-dubbed Storm Toad's own movements before they can repeat that trick again.

He regales a number of fascinated onlookers with the story of how he hunted the creature he returned with, of how he learned that coating his knife with the Hell Moss discovered earlier would turn the blade into copper, and how he hoped to use that to trick the beast into electrifying itself. How the blade bounced off its thick hide, but the Hell Moss coating it caused a large portion of its back to dissolve into a puddle of sludge and melt away, before turning into yet more Hell Moss. And finally, how he battled the creature, evading its blasts of superheated steam and finally driving his seax through the roof of its mouth as it attempted to swallow him whole.

Once he is done, he delivers the body to the Seeress and Shapecrafter, hoping that the Seeress can use its blood for her rituals, while the Shapecrafter can use it for… whatever it is he does, though he does claim one of the spines for himself.

+4 Ordstirr for the glory, +2 Ordstirr from the task rewards (6 in total), and a free upgrade from the seeress and the shapecrafter each.
Could I get my Fylgja awoken by the Seeress, and could the Shapecrafter give me stronger bones? I'd ask for improved muscle strength, but I want to get a solid anchor for them first, so I don't snap myself like a twig from overexertion.

Very well done Guest! I think that puts you at the top of the scoreboard for this round of events!

Can I get some of that stuff once I go hunt down The Bird?

I would point out that using this probably would sharply reduce the benefits of the hunt.

"I Win" buttons are generally considered dirty pool to Norsemen. It's not outright Nid to employ them (Unless the other guy doesn't know that you've poisoned your blade or otherwise prepared an "I Win" if I do X button), but it usually costs you sharply in terms of benefits.

And the biggest one obviously being "Super Monsters give Super Rewards". You basically lose all of that by employing Blood Moss as a poison.

You want to get the monster's power? Eat the heart. You want to permanently claim a portion of its nature? Fuse its blood to your own using a little trick that requires good body and mind skills (Skills we should probably have as adults). You can turn the bones to ash and use it to empower tools and weapons, and make powerful relics from its other leavings.

Losing all of that just to kill it dead a little sooner is a disappointment, though not necessarily out of character.

Sure!

I'll work with you in PMs to figure out the details of your fylgja

I was thinking of using it as a last resort, if we can kill it the proper way that's great but since it shrugged off a Lightning Bolt to the chest and then killed me in a single hit I'd like some way of ensuring that the problem is solved even if we can't kill it the proper way.
