I was also working on helping with the house building but that's probably rolled into the other housing activities?
Right

So, for everyone who is working on houses, you've managed to get some Tier 1 Houses up at the main settlement. These aren't especially pretty, but they'll keep rain off your heads, wind off your backs, and your food--and children!--from being nabbed by the pesky wildlife.

Unfortunately, one of the ships--which had already been damaged on the way over--was irreparably damaged during the construction period by rot. Salvaging it will leave you with sailcloth, quality nails, and potentially some quality wood, though it will require an action to dismantle properly.

Regardless, much praise is levied on the shoulders of those who built shelter, giving each house-builder +1 Ordstirr

A question to other players (and I guess any NPCs in the settlement): is anyone willing to lend Agmundr some swords (or other weapons, if need be) so that he can practice his multiweapon fighting over the winter?
Moli would be willing to make Hugareida-Glass Weapons for Agmundr (background to be clear), but then you'd be training with ultra-fragile weapons.

I mean, if we're in an equatorial climate, what we have to worry about isn't cold, it's the air becoming liquid and hellstorms for days.

Moli Spotlight brings together anyone who would listen to him.

"My raven has brought me a vision. I saw an army on the march, clicking and clacking as they went. From the reports of those who went East, I believe the crab-people are on the march. Possibly to our new home here." Moli Spotlight spoke.

Mm, delicious 'not sleeping in the rain', and ordstirr!

Given the lack of identified iron bogs and also the absence of a professional smith, Agmundr thinks that getting used to fragile weapons would probably be a benefit, so he'll happily take that offer.

True...if we don't have any xianxia weather. The fact that there was an ice-element eagle just hanging out ready to snatch babies as soon as we showed up indicates to me that we might be close to the border with a much cooler region, maybe north of the mountains.

yeah, we should probably deal with that this winter.

Backstory: A man of 26 years who spent the last couple of years of his life on one boat or another traveling from place to place. He has shown great talent for ropework and sailing while out at sea and took to those skills with aplomb.

This should work as a new character I think. Tell me if I need to add anything more or expand a bit.

In doing so, you stumble across a small cache of silver--presumably left there by the old captain. Not much, only a few ounces, but it's more than what everyone else has. The wood is worthless, though, but you do pull the nails out and collect the sailcloth. The silver belongs to you and technically so does the rest, though others would likely be frustrated if you didn't give the resources up.

+3oz of Silver
+A building's worth of nails
+Sailcloth

You make plenty of rope and can do with it as you will.

+3 Units of Quality Rope to you

If you're alright with Bone Swords, or Bones roughly in the right shape and size, I think I can conjure or alter some of our existing bone stocks into things that are Sword Shaped?

Agmundr feels a little uncomfortable with using weapons that are made from...I guess not technically actual human bodies but sort of the reified concept of human bones?

But he'll get over it, and will take this deal come winter.

I will note, they are in a hilarious coincidence actually Dinosaur Bones.

Unless we use the humanoid skeleton we brought back to camp from the East Scouting Trip to make your swords instead, but I think you'd prefer Dinosaur Bones :V

Okay, so, let's have a look at a problem list for our community, and some ideas about how to solve them:

#1: So far, the only food we've found is poisonous. Only slightly, but we definitely need additional sources. Fishing, farming our existing small amounts of grain to get that amount bigger, and hunting are all very relevant activities. We can also rune-up dishes to deal with poison, though that doesn't work well on the fruit.

#2: We appear to very possibly have a Crab Army coming for us, and even if not this place is dangerous. Additional defenses seem like a must-have.

#3: We lack a lot of basic building materials like metal and cloth. Finding or creating alternatives is a really good idea.

Brynjar could also help out with the bone armaments plan, though he'd need to study the dino bones a bit since he's more used to working with his own bones and occasionally that of common animals. Doesn't really do the conjuration stuff either, but can probably duplicate bones by just splitting them in half via Bone Kunna and regrowing the now 'missing' halves.

One morning, Rikard was found in a staring contest with the skull of the dead one brought back, squinting suspiciously at it.

"Thing looks damn shady" He'll admit after a moment. "Why did we keep it here anyway? Doesn't seem proper to have someone's bones here. Take it out, bury it, or burn it, and be done with it properly. Leaving it here is just asking for Draugr"

Ragnarr shrugs "Bringing the ex-draugr skeleton back was Bjorn Bjarneson's idea. I think burying it sounds like a good idea at this point. Actually, thinking about it, I re-killed it so I think my vote is probably controlling."

@Walliseatscheese Ragnarr would at least talk to Bjorn first, but since it's been brought up, he's pretty insistent we get rid of it.

"Any possible use we might have gotten out of them is pointless since you brought back the two locals [and I learned how Kunna actually worked OOCly], a proper burial is for the best."
