The judges have convened on the matter of dibs in an incursion to our lands. After a quick look at both sides, it was decided that something better was to be put forth.

As such:

"If an incursion from outside the settlement is fought on a landholder's land, then the landholder gets first pick of the spoils, provided that they fight in the defense against that incursion. This holds no matter how the incursion came, whether by sky, by sea, by tunneling, by passing over the borders of the land, or by some other means."

"Those who unreasonably damage the property of another through their efforts to fight off invaders will be responsible for providing compensation for the damage caused."

So it be.
Sorry for tagging, but huh, that's interesting. Question: can the loot be given to the landholder after the defense provided said landholder fought in the first place? If not, could the loot be given to the communal stores or whatever? In theory anyway?

[Social] Poetry!

Rangers reave shadowed leaves
Reaching sites of blessings
Sordid barbs, hidden source
Sieve soil, secret entry!

Spirit proud, bellowing
Swift, burning undoing
Cunning eyes see flagrant lies
Culled this dull tongued guard!

Helpless, now, powers seized
Hallowed moonlight below
Wraith pleads mercy, swiftly
Waylaid against stern blade!

Ward struck down, wonders scoured
While mystery lies bare
Old Greek cove, fierce oni
Our longships wandered…

…where?

(Barbarian, is it? Arrogant furniture!)

Edit: Closer to Skaldic rules now, I believe.

Tradition is that the loot from fighting monsters or other enemies is divided up among the warriors who actually fought that specific opponent. The question of who gets "dibs" on the best parts of the loot is generally resolved by informal methods, sometimes escalating to violence, as we saw with Kare blowing Grid's arms off just now.

Here, we are formalizing that the dibs on the best share of the loot, though not the entirety of the loot, goes to the landholder in cases where the landholder and other warriors fight off an incursion on the landholder's land.

What each of the warriors involved does with their share of the loot is their business. For instance, Erik and Bjorn came back with a dead storm-toad and a whole lot of dead time gators. The gator carcasses were given up to the seeress and shapecrafter in payment for services rendered, while the storm-toad was butchered and taken home to be eaten by Erik and Bjorn's families. In theory, either of them could have disposed of their share of the loot otherwise, and that would be their business and their alone.

A Family is A Mother, Son, and Snake (Aria the Mage)
A Family is A Mother, Son, and Snake

Njáll crawled around near the earth, covering his hands in mud as Katla giggled, watching her son play. She got back to work, though, leaving her fylgia to watch over the boy as she began to transplant golden grass into beds. She frowned for a moment, considering, and began to plot out locations. Every other bed seemed reasonable. But it probably wouldn't play nice with everything. She'd have to be careful with that.

A few hours later, and a small child being pushed away from the most poisonous plants by a long beleaguered snake, head pushing the boy every so often, though very carefully as to avoid any bites that would have to be treated, and Katla dragged out a basin and started washing off the toddler. And herself. At least her fylgia could take care of itself.

As a hungry child began to cry, she pulled aside her dress, using one hand to guide Njáll and the other to monitor his health. The poisons of this place might resist kunna, but that just meant she had to pay more attention.

As her fylgia slithered up her leg and back to perch on her shoulder, Katla smiled, a bit more snakelike than some might be quite comfortable with. She missed Einar, but she was happy. Her son was happy. That was enough. And she would protect that with everything she had.

Note: I envision Katla walking around with a snake on or curled around her shoulder if they aren't doing anything that makes that unwise, such as combat.

I am falling on my Backup option of

[X] Major: Investigate the local spirits in our village/beach. See what spirits are available here and now.

So just as a due diligence thing, if we can't sense it, how do we know it's still poisoning us and we haven't adapted? What are the symptoms?

We have no actual idea. That said, we know it did exist and that Golden Grass works to counter poisons in general, including this one even as Poison Kunna fails. That makes gambling on 'Oh we're becoming immune' really dicey, so we're going the Golden Grass route for now. If you want to gamble with not doing that, nobody will stop you, but we're in 'better safe than sorry' mode in regards to our children's health.

Oh, that's quite reasonable. I was just wondering if people had been starting to feel any symptoms of the poisoning, and for that matter what the symptoms are and how we know what we think we know about the poison. Just in general.

We do not know, though it's not necessarily death. The prevailing theory is, well, are we sure the creatures here were always like they are? Are we sure those crabs were always crabs? Or always this kind of crab anyway? Add in that the shapecrafter said the locals were unusually pliable and it being a mutagen seems very plausible.

That's pure pie-in-the-sky theorizing though, we don't actually know anything.

Event - Skeleton Army
Coming from the East is an army of Skeletons. They click and they clack as they march, their weapons clubs of bone.

There are too many to count. At the very least, two-hundred.

Organize yourselves well, for you have 12 Hours before the Event begins.

All adventures have been put on hold, you are assumed to be here at this time. Major actions are refreshed to deal with the incursion.

@DeadmanwalkingXI , you are the Hersir of Rekavidr, which means that you have a major say in military operations. You are in charge of organizing the proceedings.

You will need to send scouts to find out information
