Perhaps it was the drinks or the festive atmosphere but for the first time in the year that he'd been around his fellow Norsemen struggling for survival, Akali found himself approaching one for conversation that had nothing to do with battle, or land ownership or sorrowful tales of home with drinks in hand.

"A toast to Liv Sweetwater!" (@Nando) He raised his own glass while offering one to the young slim girl whose brother he'd fallen in combat alongside. "For without her we would taste upon waters most foul and be blind to the coming threats at our backs, from myself to you I give my appreciation." He'd not prepared anything beyond this little speech buoyed by the ale, and his social skills were lacking to say the least.

Thank god his skin didn't blush as a regular person or they'd see his embarrassment in Valhalla.

Bjorn is sitting in his small house, calmly drinking a herbal concoction he brewed from some of the local plants before going to bed. Sleep hasn't been coming to him lately and they help him with falling unconciuous.
After he finishes the tea, bjorn lays down onto his bed to sleep, waiting for the brews effects to take him.

Geirfinnr takes a breath, his back straightening with it, and nods, "Bo refuses to listen to others, always acting like he's somehow better just because he f-fought," his voice hitches and it doesn't escape you that Geirfinnr was there on the day the Void Eagle attacked, "the Void-Eagle and the rest of us didn't... It just... It just makes me so frustrated. He just rushes right in, fearless, while I'm here with soft blood." For whatever reason, Geirfinnr simply struggles with his bloodline--so much so that you'd suspected it had skipped him. Of course, he does have Bleeding Edge and his manipulation of his blood proves that, it's just that it doesn't come anywhere near as naturally for him as it did for you and your generation. "I'm the Hersir's son, I'm supposed to be a leader! But..." He shrugs, his eyes falling to the floor, "But I'm not. He is. And I lash out because of it."

For all his faults, let it never be said that Geirfinnr lacks maturity.

Ragnarr nods and looks sympathetic but very tired "Son, I am not the hersir because I am the greatest warrior in the settlement, I'm good but not the greatest by any means. Being a leader is not about being the greatest warrior, or even ordering people around really, it's about being the person they look to solve problems. If you're not the leader, it's not the fault of anyone else, and being fearless on its own does not a leader make. I'll work on helping you become a better leader, I honestly should've already but it's been a busy time. But, and this is key, what did you say or do to Bo about this? Because we need to right the balance between our family and his, and what you did to him is important in that. Him hitting you like this is not acceptable, and his family will likely need to pay a fine, but I suspect you both owe each other apologies and maybe a chance to fight it out for things said and done before that. So what have you said and done, so we can resolve this fairly?"

"I thank you for your kind words, Singer of Songs. Though, I can see you do have something besides water to drink this night."

Liv does take a sip of the strange brew, trying to discern what, besides water and maize, might be used in its creation.

"I'll be glad to know you amongst those that'll stand with me, when it comes to fighting those threats."

He's only got an Ordstirr advantage because Bo jumped an apex predator with a Knife, Geirfinnr was also there.
I deleted the post you quoted because it felt redundant, but I see you caught it. Anyway, point was at the time that I don't think that Geirfinnr picking a fight with Bo would count as him picking on a weaker kid, the way a nine year old picking on a six year old normally would.

Later events made it clear that this was an irrelevant observation.

Okay, I missed that. Now I'm mildly annoyed at IF because I specifically stated when Akali proposed the plan that Ragnarr's wife would have kept his kids away from it.

Like, I think the sequence of events mostly makes sense without that, but if this is happening purely because my statements about Ragnarr's family not being there were ignored, I'm annoyed.

Erik Olsen , who has been enjoying himself with a cup of maize-beer, mostly with watching the drunken dalliances, notices that a someone has began to crowd his son. Concerned, he walks over and sees that it is Sigmund of the Ironblood clan with a serious expression.

He slides next to his boy and wraps around his shoulder with a smile on his face.

"A ways off from the festivities eh? Have a cup of the maize-beer, we have plenty of it and it ends the dry-spell

"I'm hoping to avoid a feud between your family and Clan Jarnblod. There has been an incident between Bo and Geirfinnr with your son choosing to inflict Nid on Ragnarr's son. Ragnarr is getting Geirfinnr's side of the story and I was hoping to get Bo's so we could find out what is going on and figure out a way to resolve this without escalating."

Sigmund is not one to mince words. That is the job of Ragnarr and Moli.

Erik Hardhead's not even at the party so this is strictly OOC, but... well hell, it probably would've been a good idea for Sigmund to talk to Erik Olsen about this first? Bo's still a six year old, and I can imagine being a mite tetchy about a grown man walking up to my six year old kid and asking him a bunch of questions.

Probably. Honestly, I wasn't clear if they were at the party. And it's not like we're strangers, this is all a community event and he was doing it in public not kidnapping him or anything. Bo wandered up and talked to Hulfr earlier and nobody batted an eye, so an adult talking with a kid is clearly not super weird.

Sigmund is a warrior so a diplomat so he is being blunt and direct. Maybe from a perspective of a parent, approaching Erik or Agnes would be best, but Sigmund wants answers and Bo has them while his parents don't.
