*day after the party*

Harald frowned, as he looks through the field he worked on Ragnar's land.

The flax harvested and drying, the cast-off from it laying still in the field where they would remain until spring.

The vegetables and golden grass, almost ready for the harvest.

He was so proud of it just a week ago.

He still was, but less. It was hard to feel pride when he knew it wasn't enough.

He still remembered the stony resolve behind her words.

"I'm going to fight the Onigar. I'm going to free the people they've enslaved. I'm going to make sure they can never threaten our village"

He sighed.

He would have been perfectly happy with Gefjosa Villagefeeder, but it wasn't that time in her life yet, and he had to accept that.

If he would have to stand at the side of Gefjosa Beastkicker before he could give Gefjosa Villagefeeder everything she deserved, he would need to get started.

Harald put down his adze, and picked up his shield and axe.

@I.F. Ister

How many sacred sites do we need to uncover before the Seeress gives us a Benny?

I don't mind if the answer is 'she just won't'; it's a gift, not a payment, and I'll do it anyways for sake of the village. I was just curious.

(Sorry for the Ping)

@DeadmanwalkingXI pretty sure I get an extra 2 Ordstirr between my land's Prestige and the regular +1 Ordstirr every season, so that is 30 Ordstirr, which I will convert to 10 PT. I will put 5 PT into Martial Style - Charging Ram to level it up to 3, 2 PT into Swordsmanship to hit level 2, 2 PT into Excellent Reflexes to hit level 2, and 1 PT into acquiring the Shield skill.

Ragnarr nods and looks sympathetic but very tired "Son, I am not the hersir because I am the greatest warrior in the settlement, I'm good but not the greatest by any means. Being a leader is not about being the greatest warrior, or even ordering people around really, it's about being the person they look to solve problems. If you're not the leader, it's not the fault of anyone else, and being fearless on its own does not a leader make. I'll work on helping you become a better leader, I honestly should've already but it's been a busy time. But, and this is key, what did you say or do to Bo about this? Because we need to right the balance between our family and his, and what you did to him is important in that. Him hitting you like this is not acceptable, and his family will likely need to pay a fine, but I suspect you both owe each other apologies and maybe a chance to fight it out for things said and done before that. So what have you said and done, so we can resolve this fairly?"
Geirfinnr looks like he's about to cry--it's never easy to be scolded by a parent, or anyone really. His eyes are reddening and his jaw sits clenched, but he keeps it in regardless. A jerking nod heralds his words, "I understand, father. I.. I was just trying to make your job easier... I'm sorry."

"Gefjosa, having a nice night?" Anja tries always to speak quietly, but her voice has a deep rumbling that carries. Two of the smaller children seem to have made a game of climbing her braids but it seems the long energetic day has caught up with them and they've fallen asleep draped over her shoulder.

"Any boy in particular or just the existence of boys in general?"

Ragnarr hugs his son. "It's alright, nothing here seems like something that can't be mended. And we all make mistakes. Even the Gods make mistakes! We just need to work hard to fix them."

OOC: Erik is not as good with children as his wife is. So while he backs Bo up on his word, he also did not get the full story. He believes the series of events was that Geirfinnr tried to take the ball from Bo and and he retaliated by accidentally hitting him across the face. He does not know about the task Hulfr had set his son on.

He is disappointed at Bo, but also irritated at himself for not specifying that certain places are off limit to hits.

Gefjosa tries to take one of the children (gently) as she pouts at being asked questions. One eye blinks and then the other as she tries to herd together a coherent thought through the fragrant, corn-flavored soup that has replaced her brain. Eventually she leans in and "whispers" only slightly more quietly, "'wanna talk about Harald... who d' you wanna talk about?"

I don't think my passives got a response. Though I might be wrong.

They did. This was the response:

Basic House Acquired
You notice that any interaction between local wildlife is a competition--and an active one at that. Sometimes you'd wake up to find that a plant you'd been studying the day before had withered away overnight--drained dry by a rival.

Also, relevantly, you have 1 Shapecrafter and 1 Seeress Reward still coming...we were wrong that we only got one of each from the Western Trip. You can't upgrade your Fylgja again, though.

@theknightofiron

Ooc: Gefjosa responded to Anja, if you see my action/words from Harald in thread I'm fine with those happening after yalls exchange, it's funnier.

Edit:
this tag was only done because the thread is busy, I'm very invested in this scene for numerous reasons, and I wanted to make sure knight caught the reply.

"Here, drink" Anja places a large glass of what turns out after the first gulp to be water. She inclines her head "we can talk about Harald, he's my neighbour, seems a good man, fair and honorable. He offered to marry me to settle a conflict we had, but I got the feeling he'd heard about it in a saga so I didn't take it seriously." She leans in close "the two of you would be a good match I think"

You have, unleveled things are still in parentheses after character names, only traits with levels and shapecrafts are listed under Traits. Literate is unleveled.

7 PT -> 5 -> 3 -> 1 leftover Ordstirr = 4
Nav 2
Spear 2
G-L 2

Can I request everyone stop doing this until season end? We're not actually done with the season yet and so I can't do the changes immediately, which makes keeping track a huge hassle.

I have the requests from the people who've made them, so no need to repost, just please nobody else join in quite yet.

Gefjosa giggles into the drinking glass, spilling about half of it, "He does act like a hero from the sagas, doesn't he! AND he smells nice." Gefjosa giggles again and says in a singsong whisper, "If I was Harald, I would have asked you to marry me too! But you said no and now he's gonna marry someone else!" She pushes playfully against Anja's bicep, misses first, then hits it on the second try. Anja doesn't move. "You didn't answer my qqqqqqqquestion , though! Do you wanna talk about any boys?"

@Sivantic

Ragnarr will step forward toward Erik and say in a weary but matter-of-fact tone "I think our sons have been having a bit of friction and, from what my son says, yours was asking what toys all the children wanted, but left him out intentionally. He then tried to grab the ball since he was being left out, which was admittedly wrong in a childish wat...and your son hit him in the face with a wooden ball. That's a shaming strike and a real escalation. We're gonna need a fine of some kind from your family to settle this without violence, though I'm willing to be reasonable about what. That said, I also think my son has been...unkind to yours prior to this, and I'll be talking with him about how to be better about that in future. The two apologizing to each other for any unkind words exchanged might also be good, maybe after they've cooled down, if you're amenable and we can work out a suitable fine."
