Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

One more thing:

What do you all hope will happen next turn?
The buildup to our fight with Ali, us throwing the first pitch for the *blergh* Yankees, the Gym getting built ahead of schedule due to increased interest and donations leading to us coaching the Youth Baseball team, Boys Night, Bruce being offered to help write a book on Physical Fitness, us shaking hands with Forrest Gump, an action to dealing revenge on the gangs that dare to fuck with us, us being invited to sing the National Anthem and maybe ending up on the record for Voyager 1 which launches in September, accidentally settling the Taylor Ham/Pork Roll debate in favor of Taylor Ham (which coincidentally coincides with the rest of America adopting the breakfast ham), Bruce volunteering at a soup kitchen to give back for 4th of July (not an action, just something he's doing indepently of us voting), North American tour with the Band for the banger we put out with Queen, an invitation to the Guiness Factory where he have a pint and get our name into the Record Book, a friendly spar with Stallone that accidentally turns into an exhibition match because this is the one and only time the paparazzi finds us out and about, us finding out Bruce's favorite ice cream flavor, a meeting with Elvis, Michael Jackson and Queen, dealing with Robin's addiction, and a turn at being SNL Host.

I guess in addition to Emerald Splash, Bruce will be known as the "One Punch Man" even if it's a hard feat to replicate. Shame that One isn't born yet to be inspired but Japan is a big fan of The Goose so there is that.

My take away from this is that Bruce is totally going to be appearing in all the Boxing Mangas like Ashita no Joe or Hajime no Ippo. I mean i can legit imagine a plot arc where a boxer inspired by him appears in the Manga as one doing boxing as a side-gig to VS the Boxing is my Life protags.

After dealing with the WB thing or after we get the Star Wars money, we may want to have Lucasfilm do some major investing in itself.

Lucasfilm's Marketing and Distribution arm needs further funding. They are understaffed and really should be two fully-funded departments. At the very least, so that we can get a bonus to our audience reception rolls. Also, we may want to create a different name for our imports like "Lucasfilm International" or "Yavin Films" to differentiate other films from the ones that Lucasfilm makes in house.

Lucasfilm needs to get actual studios. Currently, Lucasfilm is an office- but we need physical studios to shoot. Right now we are probably renting other studios, but I am sure that having a local in-house location would save money, time, and would be under our control to test new technologies. We could possibly try for WB's studio. Or, Lucasfilm could try and buy a large amount of land and build a studio there.

Which would lead me to pitching the creation of a Lucasfilm Campus, where we would have all the branches of Lucasfilm have there own space to flourish but also to be close enough to work together (or at least keep in touch). This would take a lot of land- ideally we would want land in a place where zoning and neighbors wouldn't be too big a problem (note in OTL Skywalker Ranch had many fights with the neighbors). An idea is to try and invest in Irvine and get some partnership with the future Irvine Company.

It is an hour and a half away from LA, land is undeveloped right now and could be pretty cheap, the corporation would be in charge of the zoning (and thus we can have a set plan with no future issues) and it is close to a University that could be influenced by grant money to have a good computer (special effects) or acting program. Not a bad place to build an entertainment empire.

A thing to note with the IRL version of the Olympics in this era: The Soviets were constantly doping their athletes to the gills and abusing the system as much as possible to get them through, crying 'capitalist oppression' when they actually got called out on it. Trying to frame Bruce here is a bit of dramatic irony that I enjoy.

Oh @Magoose this would be great to use in the drug roll making them get kicked out

And the fact that despite being doped to the gills, Bruce took out the pride of the Soviets in one punch.

One punch

I now want the drug test to literally get the Soviets sabotaging on drug athletes so they can wil get found out and making them banned from the Olympics ever again

I think I mentioned that a few pages ago when I looked up how boxing for these Olympics went IRL. Just for boxing the US was #1 for gold medals and #2 for most medals. Then the next eight ranked countries are all Communist Blok countries.

Pretty suspicious.

And it's just a coincidence that Bruce was trained by one of the strongest martial artist in the world when he was a teenager.

Yes I consider Bruce Lee one of the strongest martial arts master of this time

I get the feeling that, whenever he wants to absolutely disrespect his opponent, Bruce pulls out the 'ol 1 Inch Punch [when it's a sure win].

Also, wasn't Bruce's gunshot wound completely on display in the Olympics? How'd people react to seeing it?

They thought we were the coolest dude in the Olympics
I'm mainly wondering since this would have probably been the first time anybody's ever seen it, and I'm wondering if it cowed some of the Soviets to see a dude with a straight up gunshot wound near dead center front and back, followed by an act that makes him look like some kind of undead revenant...like Rasputin come again.

That and how many of Bruce's fans were absolutely not tracking about his time in recovery.

Action Sequence: Insurgency
Action Sequence: Insurgency:
Calmed from that red haze that had permeated his being, Bruce rubbed his right eye as the swelling had gone down (that last fight with Sixto Soria having left it feeling slightly distended), and slumped into the small couch next to his bed, feeling simultaneously exhausted and refreshed as he slipped into a pseudo-state of zen, thinking of nothing. He wasn't sure how long he'd been in such a state, when a stray thought at the edge of falling asleep pulled at him, leaving him quite museful as he followed it to through to the end.

And slowly, the end came together as an assault on the enemy fortress, one using close quarters in a confined space that used a blend of modern and medieval tactics that heavily resembled modern breaching and riot tactics.
The Playground: (Heroic Fantasy / Coming of Age / Comedy)
The sound of clashing steel echoed through the courtyard of the enemy castle as a group of warriors, led by the legendary Knight Errant, stormed the gates. The knights were heavily armored, carrying swords and shields, and their tactics swift, proficient, professional.

The enemy soldiers fought fiercely, but the warriors were well-trained and experienced, and they quickly gained the upper hand. Knight Errant led the charge, her sword flashing in the sunlight as he cut down enemy soldiers left and right. Her men followed him, their shields forming a protective barrier as they advanced. As they pushed deeper into the castle, the fighting became more intense. The knights found themselves in close quarters, fighting hand-to-hand with the enemy soldiers. They used a combination of grappling and striking techniques to take down their opponents, using their shields to deflect blows and their swords to strike deadly blows.

At one point, the warriors found themselves facing a group of enemy soldiers armed with long pikes. The knights responded with a modern tactic, using heater shields (type 4) to create a barrier and then breaching the enemy line with a battering ram. The enemy soldiers are caught off guard, and the knights quickly dispatching them with their swords. As the knights continued their assault, they encountered a group of enemy archers. The archers had taken up positions on the castle walls, raining arrows down on the knights below. Knight Errant responded by ordering her men to deploy a smoke screen to obscure the archers' view. The warriors then charged forward, using their shields to protect themselves from the incoming arrows.

The fighting continued for what felt like hours, but the warriors were determined to take the castle. Finally, after a long and grueling battle, they breached the inner keep and slaying the Evil Overlord. Knight Errant emerged victorious, her armor dented and bloodied, but her spirit unbowed, unbroken.

Minimizing Warrior Casualties:

1. Shield Walls: One of the most effective tactics used by medieval warriors was the shield wall. This involved forming a tight formation with shields interlocked, creating a barrier that was difficult for the enemy to penetrate. The warriors would then advance slowly, pushing the enemy back and minimizing their own casualties.

2. Flanking Maneuvers: Another effective tactic used by warriors was the flanking maneuver. This involved sending a group of knights around the side or rear of the enemy formation, catching them off guard and creating confusion. This would allow the main force of warriors to attack from the front, minimizing their own casualties.

3. Cover and Concealment: Warriors would also use cover and concealment to minimize their casualties. This might involve hiding behind rocks, trees, or other obstacles to protect themselves from enemy fire, or using smoke screens to obscure the enemy's view.

Breaking In:

1. Siege Warfare: If the warriors did not have access to a secret entrance such as the cavern attached to the castle's cistern, they could lay siege to the castle instead. This would involve surrounding the castle and cutting off its supply lines, forcing the defenders to eventually surrender or starve. Siege warfare could be a slow and costly process, but it was often effective in neutralizing well-defended castles.

2. Mining: Another tactic that the warriors could use to breach the castle's defenses was mining. This involved digging a tunnel beneath the castle's walls and then collapsing the tunnel to create a breach. This tactic was often used in conjunction with a siege, as it could take weeks or even months to dig a tunnel.

3. Trebuchets and Catapults: If the warriors had access to siege engines such as trebuchets and catapults, they could use them to breach the castle walls. These engines could hurl large rocks, boulders, and other objects at the castle, causing damage to the walls and weakening the defenses.

4. Bribery or Diplomacy: In some cases, the warriors may have been able to bribe or negotiate with the defenders of the castle to gain entrance. This could involve offering the defenders money or supplies in exchange for safe passage, or negotiating a surrender with the castle's commander.

Overall, the tactics and strategies that the knights would use to break into a castle would depend on a variety of factors, including the strength of the castle's defenses, the resources available to the knights, and the overall objectives of the mission. The knights would need to carefully assess the situation and choose the most appropriate tactics to achieve their goals while minimizing their own casualties.

A/N: Wanted to write something to distract myself after a panic attack earlier today, so Imma apologize ahead of time for this being as unpolished as it is.

I really hope that in the future after getting a Gold medal, and especially after Star Wars that Bruce starts getting lots of requests for appearences. It's a bit uncanny that no one aside from Johnny Carson and PBS has asked him to do anything, but I guess that's the price of infamy, but after Star Wars we'll be too famous to be ignored. Hope to show up on Muppet Show, Sesame Street or Mr. Rogers.

How many more turns until Star Wars?
December as done by Mike and the omake rewards and the actions done by you guys earlier in quest.

And proceeds to dumpster said protags whenever they face off.

Bruce has one loss, against a World Champion, and it was by decision. He has a record that many would kill for, even among champions.
