Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

I think it was brought up that his New Yorker accent has been thinning out, though when he gets angry it's Irish.

As for looks, between I guess? I mean, considering we're likely to have him try for Heavyweight after Lightweight, he's likely getting a massive frame on him, so...Red Hood Jason Todd, is the closest appearance-wise we've been picturing.

A mix of jason todd and bruce wayne according to magoose we also need to play batman one day.

The Olympics
The Olympics:

Trying to calm your nerves was something that you really did not have to do before because you were not really on the nerves… But you were about to be on screen, live for a billion people. And that was something that was incredible.

Your chest pounded as you looked at the red white and blue banner that was attached to the pole, and took a moment to take in something great in your heart. You looked at the thing, and wondered just what the hell you had gotten yourself into.

You were used to playing all sorts of roles, and instead, you were not in something that was pretty much incredibly… new and foreign to you. This wasn't a role anymore, it was something else. And that was it. Really, you were an outsider… that was only here because you somehow managed to keep people talking about you, and trying your best.

Your best was always punching people. Being someone else, but being yourself to the world was not something you ever expected or wanted to do.

So you did the only thing you could do. Played a role. One that was not hard to get into, but also not one that anyone would ever expect.

You.

And as you walked forward, carrying the flag of your home, you could only look around and see all the people there. There were thousands… tens of thousands of people finally cheering.

You were quiet, you just smiled and waved as you took a position where the USA was supposed to be staying there.

And you looked towards Her Majesty the Queen… and she proclaimed the games of Quebec open.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

The First Fight: D100 + 160 => 228 vs D100 + 100 => 106

The first round, nay the first fight was something of a wake-up call. Not because of how hard it was, you had been punched in the face numerous times and honestly that was almost a normal wakeup routine.

And it was more how quickly and how afraid people were. You moved fast, crossing the Canvas of the Ring in less than a second and unleashing a flurry of strong jabs, before delivering devesting crosses and uppercuts.

And honestly, when the man, who had been training his entire life, fell flat on his face, blood on the canvas.

It made you feel good.

No really, people weren't chanting your name in awe and acceptance, not yet. They were horrified that the match lasted not even one minute.
--------------------------------------------------

The Second Round:D100 + 160 => 254 vs D100 + 120 => 121

Drug Test Result Fuckery:99

However, the second round made everyone play you up as an American Superman. And maybe the Olympic committee wanted to do a drug test.

Hell, you actually submitted to a drug test after you threw one punch and it was a goddamn knockout. The man collapsed like he was a house of cards.

And Team USA went out of its way to offer the drug test for you so that you would be able to continue.

So you did what you had to do… and then you waited. In fact, it was almost impossible to do anything that could have made you look good…

Yet you had your suspicions that something was wrong. And you followed the drug tester when you were released.

And you saw him talk to several people. Men in suits that were angrily shouting about how you could be so clean, and still knock a man out with one punch. As the tester said without any doubt you were clean, they just handed over a large leather briefcase of us dollars.

After that you ran like hell to not only the Team USA coaches and doctors for an independent drug test but also called up the Olympic panel in Quebec, threatening them that one of their people was claiming you were on PED's.

That you were not, and if they did anything that could jeopardize your ability to compete, you were going to raise all sorts of hell.

The team understood and got other doctors, independent of the Olympics and them, to conduct several drug tests on your body.

When the Olympic committee claimed you had PEDs in your system, that you were to be immediately disqualified and banned, the other doctors and team stood by your back, because everyone knew that the results done by that doctor were phony.

In fact, he was stupid enough to leave the Blood type, AB+ on the paper. That was impossible, as you were O- and last you checked, you didn't have superpowers to change blood type.

You got another test and they found nothing on you...

After clear embarrassment, and a police raid of the tester's apartment showing clear gambling and foul play… you were allowed to continue to compete.

Good thing too, because Team USA was about to raise all sorts of hell.

And the Olympic committee were clearly ready to have heads roll.
---------------------------------

The Final Round: D100 + 160 => 222 vs D100 + 160 => 221

Sixto Soria was possibly the greatest boxer that wasn't you in the Olympics. That was not arrogance talking…he was that damn good.

And he drove you to the end. All 15 rounds went down to you both beating the shit out of each other.

He had completely worn you down, the only reason you were not knocked down or knocked out was because of the round 15 bell.

Going the distance was unlikely, and you honestly lost count of how well you did.

Yet you won. By one point.

And you collapsed when you heard the news and had to be helped to the podium, while the flags raised overhead.
------------------------------------------------------------------

At the end…

You had enough bruises and welts on your face to be out of work to heal.

But meanwhile with the enemy, the-

The Soviets: 52

They god dominated by American Fists. Really it was pretty much just…

They lost confidence. Hell, they didn't win as well as they thought they would.

The Americans: 92

And To say that the USA Swept many of the Boxing medals was an understatement. They dominated behind you. Because they knew they had the Emerals splash on board.

And if he won… they would win as well.
---------------------------------------------------------

Reward: Bruce has Won Olympic Gold, though by the skin of his teeth, and by decision. Really making it like Rocky.

Only the underdog won.

And then Team USA dominated the Medals winning 6 weight classes, including heavyweight… and beating the Soviets handily in every match.

You have also, unwittingly uncovered a tampering scheme within the Olympic committee, which wanted to rig or disqualify people and matches from taking place, most likely for financial gain. An investigation has begun.

A major victory for America has been won.

Opinion from the US Government has increased substantially.

AN: Well that happened.

Oh man we're now Fully the Inspiration of the USA as a whole everyone loves us and we made the Soviets embarrassed and made the USA win so much more then them

For anyone wondering about OTL, wiki says that in the 76 summer Olympics the soviets got 49 gold medals and the US got 34. So the Soviets did a little better but DAMN the US did so much better it's not even funny*.

*Ok, I lied it's funny.

We did it and we gave it a hell of a show compared with the rest who jobed hard

i mean we went from this:

To this:

Ha hahaha hahaha their fucked well lets see if we can remove the rot atleast for a while.

So erm, in part because of how the focus is on the Boxing bit and because i stumbled on the series recently.... Has anyone watched the Netflix Korean Drama "BloodHounds"?

I'm asking mainly because even though the plot was pretty meh, i found the action scenes really really good in terms of selling Boxing in a street-fight context. I'm sure there are many shows and movies where Boxing was one of the main-stays of action design, but this was the first one in a long time where i could actually see Boxing principles like jabs, hooks etc being used in a non-sport focused action moment.

Tie-ing this back to the Quest, i'm wondering if Bruce could do the same with his action choreography as a kinda counter-point to the Kung-Fu style choreography that is coming from Hong Kong. Same Camerawork, but building on his rep as Boxer after winning the Olympics

P.S: I highly recommend people watch if for the Boxing Choreography. It's really awesome in terms of Action Scenes using said sport

Everywhere Bruce goes he just gets involved in schemes and reveals conspiracies.

You'd think people would stop doing it at this point. The guy is like a curse to all who target him.

Man that was a hell of a good update. Bruce continues to be a Chad and cements himself as a boxing legend and the real life Rocky. Hell of a run that is definitely going to go down in history and be a highlight in his career. Literally faced some of the world's best and won. The Goose has flown far and continues to fly higher.

Magoose you did seem to miss the Quarterfinals and Semifinals but I presume that was skipped over with the presumption that Bruce got two more 1 round KOs until he met Sixto Soria? Crazy that it's twice now that Bruce has gone the distance against one of the best and the rolls were literally just decided by one point. Looking forward to any and all of Bruce's future fights.

Poor Bruce though, the man can't even go to the Olympics and have some simple fun and sportsmanship without third parties trying to fuck up his life and make him look like a villain. Good thing he at least managed to report the fuckery and the IOC is gonna see some justice implemented, also this is some fantastic drama material for an episode of Bruce's biopic series.

I actually got a theory on who did it, I think it's the Soviets. You see, I did some research and if Bruce fought all the rounds that Leon Spinks did OTL, then he fought the Soviet athlete Anatoliy Klimanov in the second round. First off, that alone is a HUGE propaganda win for America in the Cold War. Their shining hero and all-American Bruce O'Brian went against the USSR's best and literally knocked him out in one punch, it's the stuff of legend and a nice little victory to triumph over Soviet athletics. My bet is that after the loss, Team USSR got so pissed that they went full ballistic and tried to rig Bruce's drug test to show positive as the only way to save face and prevent America from having a One Punch Man. If this is true and it pops up, there's going to be major reprecussions and it's very likely that Moscow loses its spot hosting the 1980 Olympics as punishment, meaning we see 1980 Atlanta Games or some other alternative.

For anyone wondering about OTL, wiki says that in the 76 summer Olympics the soviets got 49 gold medals and the US got 34. So the Soviets did a little better but DAMN the US did so much better it's not even funny*.

*Ok, I lied it's funny.

Considering we're the flagbearer and made that amazing documentary, I'm willing to bet we gave some Shonen boost to the rest of Team USA and while we probably didn't do a clean sweep like Atlanta, it was probably enough to push us as the medal leads over East Germany and the Soviet Union.

I can already imagine bruce all beat out screaming carrie with all his lungs

I am deeply ashamed in Magoose that he didn't have Bruce and Carrie recreate the ending of Rocky.
