I am looking forward to the scene where we tell Maya. She is totally going to misunderstand when Kakara says that she wants to talk about something important and has a confession to make.

Your understanding is correct, yes.

And yes, very different gaffes. Somebody with Lethal who botches, for instance, fails because they can't even find the words and break down out of sheer frustration (and often humiliation). Kakara would just find the wrong words to convince her audience.
I kinda imagine that a common Elite/Legendary talent is to always get a minimum result for such a rolls.

I mean with the roll. It's 1d100+X. I imagine that a potential talent is "any roll below y that is not a 1 instead counts as y".

So, if y=20, then a roll of 2 becomes 20. Then you add and subtract the various bonuses and penalties.
Or a talent to roll twice and always take the higher.

Given that other examples of Elite/Legendary bonuses we've seen tend to be very, very impressive, a "floor roll" is possible.

Note that a "floor" result of +X is statistically as good as a +X/2 bonus on all die rolls over the long haul in theory. In practice, worth more than that, because it reduces volatility, which is otherwise an inherent component of the game system.

"Roll twice, take the higher" would be insane in this system, given how it seems to work and the wide range of outcomes likely given the role of d100s.

Update arrives tomorrow, folks! Now, following up on the interview we have the tournament arc. This would be Berra's grand championship to recruit fighters into a quick reaction force for the alien invasion. Kakara might participate, in order to test out these fighters herself, or she might simply observe, at your discretion. Either way, the best and brightest of Exile society are going to be on full display, and as Scion you will be there to witness it. Beyond that, tournaments are quite a hallowed tradition in Dragon Ball, going all the way back to the beginning.

What kinds of things are you hoping to see?

Someone managing to make good use of multiform.
Find out that Dandeer has cheated to rig a match against Yammar. (assuming he would participate)

The Forth has already said about everything I was thinking of.

Almost not tournament in DBZ or basically any anime manages to get to the end without some disruption. I look forward to what happens.

@PoptartProdigy : How does Oozaru get used in these tournaments? The power level different seems to be enough that a non-Oozaru user can almost never beat a Oozaru user.

Forgot about that this is a masked tournament. Also how is gambling managed at these tournaments and how has the existence of seers affected it?

Do will power pushes have a chance of breaking mask?

Gambling is done through designated offices, and people can either bet against the house's odds (which works as normal) or by registering personal bets with the house as arbitrator to ensure that each side holds up their end of the bargain (in which case the house takes a slice). As for seers, there are no restrictions on their participation, although the house pledges not to resort to them since otherwise nobody would bet against the odds. Otherwise, the general sentiment is that anybody dumb enough to make a bet with a seer deserves the loss of money.

They do, but this tournament will also be under power level restrictions.

We have effectively made the multiform cheat public by doing it with Maya. How will that we treated in the rules?
You have not; sparring time with your human friends is not a public setting. It already was public. People figured it out ages ago. Multiform users are to act as though their clones are power-split.

Not that I'm averse to answering questions, but can we save these for when we're closer? I'm using you all as inspiration fodder here, after all. ;)
