Four-Witches was family related. No four witches or taioken? Tien knew them in the 22nd tournament so presumably he learnt them from Shen.

Four-Arms was Tien's clan technique, though I forgot about Solar Flare. Though the main is that this isn't the original Crane School, but an Exile version of it. The Exiles have a certain disdain for the original school which the Z-fighters passed on.No four witches or taioken? Tien knew them in the 22nd tournament so presumably he learnt them from Shen.
No, checked the wiki to make sure. During Tien vs Yamcha In the former's first appearance, Yamcha uses the Kamehameha which explicitly surprised Roshi and Krillin. The implication is that he practiced it in secret and mastered it.Fairly sure he did eventually pass it on to Krillin and Yamcha?
So basically exactly like Goku, who just copies it the first time he sees it rather than actually being taught. Then in Chaotzu vs Krillin, the latter needs a ranged attack to beat the former's sky dance and basically learns it on the spot, though it's not as powerful as a proper Kamehameha.
Gohan, maybe? I think he started using it after training in the time chamber. He defaulted to masenko before that.So basically exactly like Goku, who just copies it the first time he sees it rather than actually being taught.
Man, was anyone actually taught that move?
I'm not sure exactly, but canonically Tien is half-alien and is the only one who can use the four arm and multiform technique as they are tied to his physiology.Where is the family technique bit from? It isn't from the anime or manga.
Maybe Grandpa Gohan? Though I'll note that the ox king who was also roshi's student at the same time didn't know the technique. So basically exactly like Goku, who just copies it the first time he sees it rather than actually being taught.

I think that might actually be a feature of the Turtle School: figure it out yourself, or invent your own stuff. Ask if absolutely required.

That's anime filler only. Never happened in the manga. Both Piccolo and Krillen use multiform on the show, while fighting Nappa.
That's not it. Turtle School, as explained by Master Roshi at some point (I may be getting a detail wrong here) is just basic kung fu coupled with some serious body training. Figuring things out isn't part of the school itself. The fact that basic kung fu and academia are both taught as part of it actually implies the opposite, that things which need learning in Turtle School are taught, it's just that it doesn't need a lot of learning. The only reason Roshi never taught the Kamehameha is tied, I think, to why he kept on thinking his students would die whenever he saw them use it for the first time: he thought they weren't ready for the technique and that it would kill them.I think that might actually be a feature of the Turtle School: figure it out yourself, or invent your own stuff. Yeah, any universe where I can't use the version that made it popular to determine "canon" but have to wade through guidebooks and WoG interviews to find out stuff is one where I say "screw it, close enough" and just treat each separate instance as it's own canon. Thus manga!canon can be totally different from anime!canon, either of which can be completely separated from the "complete Slump-/Jaco-/Dragon Ball-/Nekomajin-verse"!canon. And GT and Super can have their own little universes and you can actually like both without "ruining the franchise."That's anime filler only. Never happened in the manga.
It's not Toriyama canon.

So, having caught up on the Tournament of Power...
Do Saiyans still remember how to turn their aura into a defensive barrier, like Goku and Vegeta did early on? Yknow, when instead of having the big flaming aura it was just a skintight glow.

Contradiction in terms detected. :lol
More seriously, go and have another look at my statements on what is and is not canon. Either the OP or the Rules Screen.
"Early on?" In regards to what?
During the early fight with the Trio De Dongers/u9 in general, Goku and Vegeta did a thing where they compressed their aura around themselves, allowing them to fight them without being overwhelmed by the enemie's tricks. Ya know, like the poisonous energy thing.
See?
HmmWasn't sure if you were talking about, "early on," as in, "early on in the series." No, the Exiles never passed that on, although they still have the stories.
Fifty-fifty. What he does is plainly a different effect, but it's aesthetically similar, so maybe he was shooting for that and got his trick by accident.Hmm
In that case, likelyhood of that being where Jaffur got the basic idea for his style?
Really? I would have expected mind delve to be a very useful tool for any therapist.Nah, just plain old therapy.
Thing is, it's difficult to motivate saiyans to enter a field with so little prestige attached -- with so little fighting or demonstration of ki skill, psychology, psychiatry, and its doctors and nurses are not held in high esteem, even ignoring the prejudice that exists in real-life against such arts. That there are as many as there are is actually the result of a years-long campaign on Berra's part to de-stigmatize it by reframing it as just another part of the medical field -- which is much more respected, likely due to the prevalence of ki healing.
Not as much as you'd think. Oftentimes, therapy is a matter of getting patients to trust their therapist. Very few people would be comfortable going up to a therapist and saying, "Yeah, go ahead and rummage around in there until you find what's up." Sure, it'd help once you reach that point, but even then that's only one part of a many-staged process.Really? I would have expected mind delve to be a very useful tool for any therapist.
You go to a therapist to figure out and work through your problems not have someone force fix them, if you can't talk about the subject you have to work till you are. Plus mind delve is a invasion of privacy since there are always things you want to keep private.Really? I would have expected mind delve to be a very useful tool for any therapist.
Completly true, but I am talking about the reputation of the profession. Not as much as you'd think. Oftentimes, therapy is a matter of getting patients to trust their therapist.
