I think my vote's gonna look like
[-][ORDERS] Do as Dad said, and glue yourself to Jaron throughout the fight.
[-][IFF] Engage only those scouts which you can confirm as actively hostile.
I am very much torn on the AIM vote. Still open to suggestions and ideas.
Aw man. At least we tried, and as long as we don't take civvie casualties, I'd still call today a victory.
Yeah. Especially since we
didn't get mobbed and beaten while stuck at low power levels.
Jaron has enough Power to not get oneshot, but he has very little combat ability and I don't really trust him in a fight. Honestly, I don't see how Jaffur's magical empowering of him wasn't a mistake. It didn't really help anything since we were gonna lose the fight either way without really powering up, and there is going to be some very uncomfortable questions.
One, asking Jaffur to stay out of the fight entirely would be more than he could bear, given that he has some ability to act through Jaron as a proxy. Two, the powerup at least ensures Jaron won't go 'splat' if hit by a stray ki blast, which is frankly a very real risk even with Kakara playing bodyguard- and Jaffur wouldn't have wanted to assume Kakara would be playing bodyguard.
Didn't we convince four? Either way, definitely only engage those that are hostile.
Looks like out of twelve scouts, we
convinced three. We got another four to have major second thoughts to the point where they might surrender without being beaten into submission.
We're going to have to protect Jarod. Despite the convenience of 300,000, he's still squishy.
Also, in a combat situation, Dad's our superior. We're just going to have to trust that he knows a hell of a lot more about this soldier business than a barely pubescent teenager.
While I support this idea for now, I will note that Berra
is in the process of teaching Kakara everything he knows about tactics and troop command (a fair amount, but not a lot). Arguably he has already done so. The main area where Berra had a huge gap of knowledge compared to Kakara isn't tactics, it's
politics.
As to Jarod? No, he's not squishy, not in the sense that we've been using the term in this thread. 'Squishy" means you can die or be crippled just from a stray chunk of rubble, that a single punch or blast from a ki warrior will pulverize your body before you can even perceive it. "Squishy" is what you get when your power level is, say, 1% of your opponent. At 50%? Not so much. That's
vulnerable, but it's not
squishy.
