You all know...
Lapis and Lazuli were Earth natives. They know how Ki works.
Think about that for a second.
Only very few Earthlings knew about ki, much less how it worked.
And they were one of those few.Only very few Earthlings knew about ki, much less how it worked.
There's a big gulf between "she picked some things up" and "learned how to do ki like them". She never seemed at all interested in it, and what she picked up probably would've been at most to around the level as what the rest of the galaxy had achieved.I mean, yeah. They were cyborgs, true, but 18 was married to Krillin. If she didn't pick up even the slightest thing about how ki works I'd be astonished.
Ah. "Picked up," vs. "Understanding the principles of." The latter, they most certainly achieved. There's a big gulf between "she picked some things up" and "learned how to do ki like them". ...folks, is the "Recruit Sensei" option somehow unclear that he's being recruited whether or not it's you being the one to bring him in?
[ ] Recruit Sensei Carrick (1 action): Your Sensei is a Seer, like you, and seems sensible. The Conspiracy Council, on your recommendation and his opinions on mind control, decided that he should be brought in to more fully collaborate with you on the matter of breaking the Seal. If you don't do this, one of them will, but you are already there...and he'd probably think better of you if you told him personally, from his ranting on how you should make up for visiting Jaffur's mind. Effect: Bring your Sensei in on the conspiracy personally. Probably has positive effects on your relationship with him in addition to hopefully gaining his full and informed support.
A lot of people have been talking as though there's some doubt whether or not he'll be brought in this year. Y'all already voted for that in, "The Rush To the Bottom."
Typically you would have, but the results are meaningfully different in "Kakara is the one telling him," vs. "Kakara lets one of the co-conspirators handle it." Those results aren't immediately obvious from your position, but the difference exists and is at least theoretically within the range of inference based on available information, so I elected to leave it up to the players..... Ooooooooooooooooooh.
Was not aware that happened. Figured that we would've seen the scene of Kakara recruiting him had it won.
Well, that's own thing out of our hands, for better for for worse.
He's rather fast -- abnormally so for his power level, at the cost of some physical strength -- but no IT, no.@PoptartProdigy : Can Yammar use instance transmission? The current plan is to kidnap Jaron and replace him with a double ganger. Yammar would be perfect for that. He can take care of himself if found out.
Shame, still best person for it. He isn't really needed anywhere else that I can see for the plan and he is better at taking care of himself. Also it might be a year or two before the plan that should give him time to learn. He's rather fast -- abnormally so for his power level, at the cost of some physical strength -- but no IT, no.
Mind, I'm confirming nothing about what they may have done with that knowledge.
No, but I wish it did! :lolI can hazard a guess and say that it probably didn't go down like this:
Random Alien: "Please teach me the secrets of ki use."
Eighteen: "No, go away."
Alien: "Pretty please with sugar on top?"
Eighteen: "Kid, I will blast you. Go away."
Alien: *makes puppy dog eyes* "I'll buy you two feasts worth of food."
Eighteen: "What do I look like, a saiyan?"
Alien: "Well you are blonde and from Earth and really powerful, so I just assumed..."
Eighteen: *Shrieks in incoherent rage and starts ranting about stupid supersaiyans and them ruining it for all the normal blonde people.*
Alien: "Aww shucks. And the only other thing I have to offer is this strange asteroid my ship picked up the other day, made of some worthless yellow metal called... gold, I think it was."
Eighteen: *Stops mid-rant* "And what's the size of this asteroid?"
Alien: "Oh, you know, not very big. Only a couple dozen meters in diameter. Pretty small for a asteroid." *presses a button on his bracer and a robot rolls out this absolutely massive sphereoid of gold.*
Eighteen: *eyes change to zeni signs* "Kid you got yourself a deal."
*Eighteen utilizes the power of greed to rip a hole open in the space-time continuum and grabs a bunch of copies of Gohan's how-to-ki book from the Dragonball Online universe. She throws them at the alien and then grabs the hunk of gold and runs off, holding the gold above her head like a giant beach ball.*
Eighteen: *as she's running off* "Rich rich money money, money money rich rich!"
Alien: "Earthlings are weird." *Starts reading one of the books*
We are already training mind projection, it's the locked-in Sensei option.K, so the important difference between the two plans is that Sucal tries to recruit Sensei, studies Jaffur's Form w/ Mato, and Tien's Styler, while DbB tries contacting Jaffur (without training Mind Projection? Is that correct?) and attempts researching Perfect Multiform with added postcognition scrying.
On Sensei, I'm hesitant. He seems like such a powerful precog and usually knows a lot of what we do, but he was (apparently) blindsided by the fact that Jaffur's Sealing went wrong. He saw us ascend to be Lady Goku, so how likely is it that he's completely unaware of our plans to destroy Jaffur's Seal in actual rebellion against Daddy? And remember, he apparently actually depowered and threatened our parents with death at his hands if they didn't make us Scion. So I'd wager that he isn't overly concerned with being less than a law-abiding citizen. That said, doing this carries a tangible risk that a) Sensei doesn't know what we're planning and b) will report us to our Dad and blow the whole conspiracy open (minus what the Senzu's can protect with their shield). This will be a hammer blow to the conspiracy, will destroy our diplomatic standing with everyone and our own family, and will be entirely our fault. Otherwise, the potential risk of not recruiting him (minus not having the added help of a powerful precog) is him being annoyed we didn't trust him, though the magnitude of that risk is a bit questionable.
Recruiting him probably won't change his true allegiance. Since he probably doesn't know of our plans and oppose them, since we'd be dead in the water already, three possibilities exist. If he knows and supports it, he won't act against us either way and will actively help when we finally make that leap of faith. If he doesn't know and supports it, we get to fill him in and get his active assistance. If he doesn't know and opposes it, worst case scenario, our leap of faith dooms us, the conspiracy is exposed, every involved Head is implicated, only the Senzu's shield will save anything. This has a potential benefit, but if we hit that third and final possibility, we're fucked. And so, I'm nervous.
I definitely approve of studying Jaffur's Form w/ Mato. That has serious combat potential, a real force amplifier. Plus the relationship boost for our brother.
Tien's Style, while an odd choice with a Lifeforce-sacrificing bent to it that makes me super nervous, will give us an actual Style. And if we're continuing down the Road of the Multiform, we will need Tien's Style anyway, so might as well make it our primary right now.
Onto DbB, I really like the Perfect Multiform, since that's the part of Multiform that I want. We actually get huge combat boosts there, we can multiply our powers and fight together (and for real if we can sacrifice the life force of clones then I'm so done). That's gonna be Kakara's Thing, and while it's certainly unexpected, I do approve. However, I don't think that we're at the point where we can succeed in this Research Project. Also, do we need to contact Jaffur now to keep on schedule? I though we were gonna wait.
...What if Jaffur's style isn't new? We already know it can condense your ki to make you stronger than should be possible. And some of it's attacks are downright lethal. That's one possible (if ruinously expensive) method, although not the one Endivan used. Good guess, though
"Some?" As for the rest:...What if Jaffur's style isn't new? We already know it can condense your ki to make you stronger than should be possible. And some of it's attacks are downright lethal.
Did Endivan use/know Jaffurs style?
No@Sucal, what do you think about adding this subvote to the scouting? It's a little wordy, but I think it's pretty in-character and could pay some interesting dividends (information, dealing with prisoners).
-[] Develop a plan that involves minimal loss of life, for the sake of gaining information (and your personal ethics). You (and Dad) can use Instant Transmission and/or Solar Flare to move in and incapacitate the scouts, while the rest of the group makes sure no one gets away or gets off a message.
--[] This probably isn't Plan A, especially before you have an idea of how easily the enemy can sense you or send back info. But it's worth having a plan at hand in case the opportunity presents itself. (And boy, do you hope it does.)
Oh hey, @Sucal's around again. Any chance you could put Training Multiform in your plan? It's one action, and I'm pretty sure if it's specified as after Flight we'll hit Exceptional and get another action per turn.
Sorry to hear your Saturday sucked.I don't have any points to spare and the only one I'm prepared to possibly surrender is one of the scouting ones, which everyone else wants.
and I just had my monthly shitty Saturday at work, so I'm not the most cheerful person right now!
