[x] He didn't teach me. I've spent much of the year trying to figure it out myself. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm getting better at it.

[X] I spent a long time studying all the known styles, and by chance momentarily stumbled into the right mindset in that moment. His style seemed absurdly good and I wanted to know how he invented it.

[X] "First. Let me be honest with you. I will always be honest with you. What you did last summer? It was a horrible, awful thing, no matter what you tell yourself, no matter your justification, you did a monstrous thing to your son, his screams haunt me. And I will never forgive you. Live with that. To answer the question asked. I figured it out myself. Can't get help from a dead boy. The walking corpse you call Jaron doesn't even know about ki. What would be the point?"

Let me be clear.

This is quite possibly, the worst choice.

But it's the one I need.

@PoptartProdigy If we want to devise our own style, do we pick the option and then talk about it, or put forward a style and ask if it is acceptable?

The former.

Is this just answering this one question, or should we bring up other topics we would want to touch on?

For now, answering the one question. Given the clearly volatile nature of the chat she wants to have, the whole thing may or may not spin out of control at any given moment.

-[X] Tell her everything you found out about it.

Added something to Terrabrand's vote, explaining how much we know about the style (and how much we don't know) might make her feel safer/less suspicious. Besides, I doubt anyone but possibly Yammar, Berra or our grandmother has the Ki Control to learn it.

Free hint: neither of the last two do. You don't know about Yammar.

Another question, how large is the current Saiyan population?

That is a very good question! Yes, an excellent question indeed. And it has an answer, too. Fascinating answer. Which I know.

...

*frantically mathing*

Roughly three hundred thousand, to answer your question, with a slightly larger amount of Gokuns than Vegetans. Slightly more than the typical Clan structure accounts for, you may notice...

[X] Curious. You're not sure what you think yet, but you'd like to learn more.

I'm not going to have a child's inability to synthesize discordant prejudices shape the species' leader's outlook on their heritage, active, collective, and personal patron, future, and widespread religion.

Curious is judgmentally neutral while promoting the gathering of information on this important institution. -and it is important. It is an enduring, widespread institution which crosses all clan lines and social classes. It appears to basically be the third leg of the Saiyan sociopolitical system. More than that, it may have some pretty important knowledge squirreled away. It has undoubtedly collected and analyzed everything it can get about the history it worships and may even be keeping some of it restricted, or at least wrapped up in parable. Heck, they might even stretch back to Mato's secret message from Gohan.
Son Mato is in retrospect recognized as the first Lord Goku, and among ancestor cultists in particular is recognized as a Moses-equivalent.
Prophet on the mountain indeed.

Perhaps most importantly of all, they may not be content to leave her be. Between her part in the heresy, her role as leader, and Lady Vegeta and Lady Goku she's getting wrapped up in it whether she likes it or not.

Also:

[] "Bitch, who do you think taught him?"

Y'know, the Yamcha style is what Kakara was designed for, and it's weaknesses are all things she is already naturally talented at.

You mentioned Exiles...

You mentioned Exiles as if I wouldn't pick up on it. The Goku leader who forced a break in the masquerade to help them. Expaaaaand.
I don't think it's referring to anyone exiled from Saiyan society (that'd be way too dangerous), but rather to the Saiyans on Garenhuld as a whole, as they're "Exiles" from Earth due to the Enemy killing most people there and Gohan blowing it up.

Is there any downside to learning multiple style other than the time investment? Can we shift between them as needed depending on the opponent? Could we change between learned styles mid-fight?

In order: no, but the time investment is substantial. Yes, you're not perma-locked into any given one. Yes, but unless you're really good at the one you're switching to you'll likely leave several openings for your opponent to exploit as you try and change paradigms mid-fight. Most fighters start synthesizing their various known forms after a while to come up with a unified approach that they can take rather than taking the time to master several to the point that they can use them as easy as breathing.

As Bommelom said above. The Exiles are just the survivors of Earth.

*Still feels empathy for Dandeer*

I'm not sure if stating that we put ourselves into a similar mindset to Jaffur who got his true self sealed away because Dandeer thought he was too violent is a good idea.

Unless of course, you're also looking to escalate, in which case, why stop there? :V

Can we at least cut out the bit about "I spent a lot of time studying different styles"? She's need-to-know, and communicating the thrust of the message only requires telling her "I figured it out myself."

In fact, she's not entitled to anything. The best response right now is probably just, "Tell me your theories."

#DandeerShotFirst

The eight-year-old scion coming out of the private meeting covered in blood and telling everybody that it was a trap and she tried to cast a spell on her would probably go over okay, all things considered. The Vegeta are not happy with Dandeer. The Goku are not happy with Dandeer. The Ancestor Cult are really not happy with Dandeer. Most people would be inclined to believe that the witch would try something like that, and there wouldn't be anybody left with the power, authority, and desire to make problems when three out of the four Super Saiyans on the planet are on Kakara's side and the fourth probably isn't terribly sympathetic towards the woman who crippled his son and grandson because she wanted to play house. Better yet, just Poof her into the sun and pretend she doesn't know anything about the disappearance. There's hardly a paucity of suspects.

I think I'm done arguing about the whole Dandeer thing because I'm obviously in the minority when it comes to her.

[X] "To be blunt? I was trying to figure out what was involved in teaching Jaffur a style that I had never heard or seen of before--and apparently nobody else had either. I'm not entirely sure why you have such a serious problem with this, it's not as though reverse engineering someone's techniques is unheard of."

Try to goad her into tripping, letting something slip, without saying that "Oh, X person taught it to me."

Since if she flips out because "AUUUGH CLAN SECRETS" then that means that she knows who taught him this super powerful, super lethal style, and that she doesn't want this being public knowledge.

She basically gave us an opening a mile wide to probe her with from her own neroses, escalating unecessarily before we're ready to act is folly. She might let something slip that she'd normally wouldn't while being all calm and composed. This is also not something that makes us directly look like we're conspiring against her (More than we already are anyway)

This is also an improvement.
