Welp... thinking back to the last couple of posts, what
did we learn in that conversation? Better start up that there ol' assumption machine and try to hash out things way above my pay grade.
Sophie is spying on us. Chances are (inferred from the verbal poke from Jenny) that it is because she sees us spending a lot of time together without her and fears that we might abandon her. This is apparently A) a big deal, B) something at least common knowledge amongst the female misfits, and C) A really sore point for Sophie, since when Jenny makes her quip Sophie flinches and Gemma snaps at her. So Sophie
probably has abandonment issues.
Jenny has blue-ish hair. Don't know if we knew that and I just forgot or if we just learned it, but figured I'd note it down here too. Personally, I think this was the big reveal that got lost in the update, and is probably going to result in some earth-shattering revelation, like that she's actually Arale who somehow over the ages managed to learns some restraint and... yeah, I can't even go on with this train of thought, laughing too hard.
A rift is forming in the misfits, with a weak us-and-them feeling coming down as we spend lots of time training Maya and not as much time with our other friends. While for the moment they seem content to trust us, except maybe Sophie, (who, as I postulated earlier, probably has abandonment issues) the longer we go without addressing the issues the harder it will probably be to do so. Again, this is just me postulating, but as the years go by, we might end up having problems if this rift grows any wider... especially when we free Jaffur and "Jaron" joins in on the secrecy.
Honestly, I have a feeling that unless we want these relationships to fall apart then we're either going to have to dial back Maya's training or bring the rest of the misfits into the secret of ki use. And while I'd want to make sure Berra doesn't have plans for revealing ki to the the humans, at the same time I'm thinking that the longer we put this off the harder the reconciliation will be. I mean, they already don't trust us to tell the truth if they ask us why we're spending so much time together. Admittedly, part of that may be that they're thinking about crushes and no one like to be embarrassed about their crush, but still...
Jaron has been included into the group well enough that Gemma expects him to comfort Sophie after Jenny messes things up. Don't really have anything to say about this, just thought I'd point it out.
We see a bit more of Gemma's nurturing side as she scolds Jenny and convinces Jaron to comfort Sophie, who is obviously hurt. This just further feeds my theory that Gemma is Hermione Granger's spiritual reincarnation. Either that, or... okay, now I know I'm paranoid. I'm suddenly seeing Gemma as a plant there to guide us and Jaffur/Jaron.
Also, we found that even untrained sorcerers can feel being spied on by (at least at least somewhat untrained) seers. That'll make spying on Dandeer harder, as that means that now we can't just astral project to follow her around and see what she's doing... at least, not without chancing getting caught.
Okay, that's about all I got in me at the moment, though I might be back later if I think of anything else...
One last thing before I go: with how often we're swearing to the Kais, wouldn't it be hilarious if the East Kai telepathically contacted us and told us to shut up because all our yelling to her (or the Kais in general, but since she's in charge of our area of space it's all probably funneled through her anyway) is interrupting her beauty sleep?
