@PoptartProdigy, would the following write-in cost one or two actions?

[] Write-in: Your dad used some kind of technique to rip out Lady Vegeta's location from your mind. If you could do that, you find out exactly what Dandeer did to Lord Vegeta and Jaffur, and, more importantly, how to undo it. Therefore, you're going to find out what it was. Read the library, ask around, and try to find out both what the technique was and if there's anyone who could teach you (if it isn't possible to learn it by yourself).
-[] Be careful, though, you wouldn't want your dad to find out you're learning this. The teacher should also preferably be someone not too fond of your dad or Dandeer (feel free to tell them how you really feel about the Sealing if they refuse to teach you because of that), or, if that's not possible, someone who will at least promise not to tell your dad.

Rather go more standard fighting then monkey, branching off into healing and/or other exotic ki skills.

[x]Attend School (Mandatory): Time-consuming, tiring, and the part that you're most likely to be discovered doing. Unfortunately, you really have no choice. Current grades: trending A-. Effect: Attend school.
-[x] Slack (1 action): You have better things to do! Effect: Slack off on schoolwork to focus on other pursuits. Effect: Possible grade loss. You're smart and this is primary school, you you have a decent chance of not dropping a grade.

Saiyan: While the Masquerade is important, you are nobility. You really do need to pay attention to this stuff.

[x] Training (Mandatory, 2 actions): You have a responsibility to master the transformation you unlocked last summer. Dad's going to require you to train hard until you manage that. It might take a while, though.
-[x] Train Base Strength (Mandatory, counts as 1 of Training's 2 actions): You can hardly conceive of being at 375 million units. But if Dad has his way, you'll get there soon. Effect: Raise your base form's strength by conventional training.
-[x] Train Super Saiyan Strength (Mandatory, counts as 1 of Training's 2 actions): If 375 is a big number, try 750. By undergoing the specialist training required to become a Full-Power Super Saiyan, you just might hit it. Effect: Through rigorous meditation and endurance training, increase your Super Saiyan strength.

[x] A Warrior's Path: being a warrior is about more than brute strength. Master the art of combat to gain your people's respect. Your mindset will hold you back, though.
-[x] Train Hand-To-Hand (2 actions): Jaffur showed you exactly how far you have to go. You've learned your lessons from him in dueling, but you can improve other forms of combat as well. Effect: Train your skill in hand-to-hand combat, and thereby your facility in its involved talents.
-[x] Train Your Tail (1 action): It frickin' hurts when somebody grabs that thing. Even Dad was helpless when Jaffur did it. You don't like that. Effect: Train to overcome and work past the sensitivity of your tail, removing a crippling weakness.

[x] Style Training: The mark of a true warrior is one who unifies their various skills and abilities into a cohesive whole. You're not really suited to fighting, but this could help you.
-[x] Research Styles (1 action): There are many styles out there for the eager student to learn. Effect: Go searching for a style that suits you, gaining a comprehensive list of known styles and their effects and then having the opportunity to pick one to begin training. [Hidden Effect]

[x] The Mysteries: You have always wondered about the strange abilities your people sometimes possess. Nobody expects either of a Scion, and after this summer you feel uncomfortable with sorcery in particular, but you could choose to study here...
-[x] Test for Seer/Magic Abilities (1 action): Do you even have these? Effect: Discover latent Seer or Sorcery abilities. You don't feel quite comfortable with magic after this summer, but you'd still like to know.

[x] The Pulse of Life: You are a part of this society, and it's the people who make it tick.
-[x] A Scion's Duties (1 action): You'll moderate these fractious, violent people one day...you'd better start practicing. Effect: Learn the art of diplomacy and Clan management at the feet of your father, improving your Communication Skill and learning more about Clan politics.
-[x] Making Friends (1 action): You kind of have a small social circle now. Let's fix that! Effect: Take advantage of social opportunities to meet new people and establish relationships.

[x] Personal: Sometimes, you just want to do things on your own time.
-[x] New Tricks (1 action): You are a prodigy in ki use. Surely you should be able to figure out some new techniques. Effect: Discover new ki talents, if applicable. Healing Specifically?
-[x] Gentle Soul (1 action): You don't like fighting, and you don't think you ever will. Effect: As you age and mature, take the time to reflect on your thoughts towards fighting and violence, and what they mean for you and your life. Develop "Gentle" trait.

Oho, ambitious! That'll be 1 action, but yeah, go for it! Mind you, that'll involve a lot of subtlety. There would be repercussions if you were found out, as you note.

*snip*
For what it's worth, I'm hoping to add Ki Healing and more exotic Ki skills down the road. The idea with my current plan is to "lay a foundation"; I foresee things like Tail Training and Oozaru Training becoming more and more difficult as we grow older and more powerful.

....that said, you have 2 more actions you can use. We get 10 Base, 1 for Driven, and 1 that has to be justified along the lines of the "Cause".

Would it cost more if I added something about making sure to especially ask about how to defend yourself from it, so that even if Berra discovers us, we could claim we just wanted to make sure no one never forced their way into our minds again?

Are you hoping SSJ 4 is a thing here? Because if not, Great Ape seems pretty worthless, especially as it doesn't increase speed (so it'd be hilariously easy to use Instant Transmission and then cut off the tail).

Nah. But have some faith that if you make note of a desire for subtlety, I'll interpret your requests in the spirit they're meant. ;)

I am, yes. Or something similar, anyways. @PoptartProdigy doesn't seem to have ruled out the possibility, and the decidedly mythic tones of this Quest thus far lead me to think that the idea of the Super Saiyan 4, the cumulative peak of the raw power and control of the Super Saiyan, combined with the power, ferocity, and endurance of the Oozaru, would fit in rather well. The write-in even suggests there's some value to it beyond being able to become a Kaiju at will.

....Which is admittedly pretty awesome in and of itself.

[X]Attend School (Mandatory): Time-consuming, tiring, and the part that you're most likely to be discovered doing. Unfortunately, you really have no choice. Current grades: trending A-. Effect: Attend school.
-[X] Maintain Grades (2 actions): You're good where you are. Let's just get the effort in to stick it out and then focus on other things. Effect: Maintain grades.
[X] The Power of Learning (1 action): Quite aside from school, the human world has always fascinated you. Maybe you can learn something from them? Effect: Become a bookworm in (insert field of study) or just read as widely as possible if nothing specific catches your eye. This is something you'd be good at.
[X] Training (Mandatory, 2 actions): You have a responsibility to master the transformation you unlocked last summer. Dad's going to require you to train hard until you manage that. It might take a while, though.

'Kay, so here's my take on various things from GT:

I don't think the series was beyond redemption.

Doesn't mean that it wasn't utter shite -- it was -- but there are some salvageable things there.

So I've taken things from it, but here's the thing: I'm not saying what those are. SSJ4 may or may not be one of the things that I've salvaged, but the most I'll mention is that the Exiles sure don't know anything about anything like it. Because while I'm redeeming some things from GT, the run of the show is most definitely non-canon for this quest.

So, if you want to gamble on going for SSJ4 in the event that I've made it canon...well, more power and all that. But don't expect any hints. ;)

Seriously, she is a ki projection prodigy and has "gentle" as a foundational trait. There's a real chance that she could figure out the Power Ball from scratch if she had to. There is nobody better suited to making the most of the Golden Great Ape form quickly and easily.

Also fusion dance. The group is talking about a course of action someplace between a coup and an insurrection. She's already friends with one very strong ally who shares her cause. The ability to secretly circumvent the normal ki limits and share the experience of ascension without technically breaking the rules would be a heck of a tool.

Heck, fusing directly with Jaffur might be the fastest way to break the seal.

Ki healing just isn't that interesting. Having the single most powerful combatant by a wide margin invest in healing abilities is sub-optimal to say the least, and the most obvious allies in the cause are the source of senzu beans.

Are you hoping SSJ 4 is a thing here? Because if not, Great Ape seems pretty worthless, especially as it doesn't increase speed (so it'd be hilariously easy to use Instant Transmission and then cut off the tail).

A Super-Saiyan great ape is capable of curbstomping an SSJ3, and removing a limb from an angry superpowered monstrosity is not an easy thing to accomplish. It does get all the same protections as any other part of the body. Even if she never manages SSJ4 it is still the single fastest way to achieve the greatest amount of power possible short of actual godhood. As one of very few Super-Saiyans, and almost certainly the only one who had trained her natural advantage in controlling the form, it's a massive personal advantage if she can manage the Power Ball.

@PoptartProdigy : we should probably settle the critical factor right away. Is Power Ball on the table?

Anyways, here's my plan. It's a bit more focused on politics and such than KnightDisciple's.

This is primary school, we can always catch up later, and being a slacker in school is not exactly suspicious.

These are mandatory.

[X] A Warrior's Path: being a warrior is about more than brute strength. Master the art of combat to gain your people's respect. Your mindset will hold you back, though.
-[X] Train Specific Skill (Ki Control) (1 action, may be taken multiple times): As you train your skill in an overall field, your skill at individual techniques will rise to match, but maybe you can focus on something in particular. Effect: Choose a specific Skill you wish to train or learn. Crowd fighting? Fighting in a team? Specific ki projection techniques like the Kikoho? (ask your GM for an extended list of techniques if you're not sure) This would give a higher chance of success.
-[X] Command Training (1 action): You will be expected to lead your Clan if war comes. You may as well be good at it. Effect: Learn the art of battlefield command. Gain "Leadership" skill and set your starting skill level. Your mindset won't impact you as badly here.
-[X] Train Your Tail (1 action): It frickin' hurts when somebody grabs that thing. Even Dad was helpless when Jaffur did it. You don't like that. Effect: Train to overcome and work past the sensitivity of your tail, removing a crippling weakness.

At this point, training Hand-To-Hand is unnecessary. Due to our Hand-To-Hand (Dueling) skills already being Exceptional, we're not getting any better at fighting 1-on-1. We could get better at fighting as a group or fighting multiple opponents, but anyone who isn't a Super Saiyan is mook tier to us and the only person there'd currently be a point in ganging up on is Berra, but currently there's no one on our level we could gang up on him with.

We're a prodigy at ki manipulation, so we should definitely train something that has to do with that, but I'd rather focus on Ki Control than train the whole bunch. Since our Ki Sense is already Exceptional, I very much doubt we'll be able to increase it through training, so trying to train all three ki abilities would be a waste of time, and while improved Ki Control should make it easier for us to master Super Saiyan as well learn techniques and we should therefore improve it as soon as possible, there's no benefit to getting better at flying now rather than in, say 2-3 years.

A non-trained tail is a crippling weakness, and if I had known Berra hadn't trained off his tail weakness, I'd have gone for his tail rather than teleport away. In addition, as Goku demonstrated in the 22nd budokai against Tenshinhan, you can actually use a mastered tail to fight, so training off our tail weakness should improve our Hand-To-Hand skills as well.

Command training is basically there because I want to be sure we succeed at improving something so our combat skills doesn't atrophy, but it could likely also be useful if we were attempt to garner support for unsealing Jaffur.

While I hope we're a sorcerer, thanks to the whole meeting-our-dead-ancestors-in-dreams thing I actually wouldn't be surprised if were were a seer.

Social skills are important if we want allies.

[X] Personal: Sometimes, you just want to do things on your own time.
-[X] Contact House Senzu (1 action): House Senzu has withdrawn from society at large, but when last you met, you were allies. Perhaps if you find them...somehow...you can be again. Effect: Search for House Senzu.
--[X] If you manage to get Yammar's trust to at least some extent, try to see if he knows where they are or at least has any leads.
--[X] If possible, try to keep secret from your that (I'm pretty sure writing this isn't necessary, I just like to be sure. Sorry).
-[X] Contact Yammar Vegeta (1 action): The Butcher of House Talt has a fearsome reputation, but he was the last Lord Vegeta. You doubt he appreciates what's happened. Effect: Sound out Yammar Vegeta.
--[X] If he refuses to believe that you didn't help seal Jaffur, make sure to tell him that the Senzus would be willing to vouch for you (if either of you could find them, at least).
--[X] If possible, try to keep secret from your dad (as with searching for Senzus, just writing this because I sometimes have problems with micro-managing votes).
-[X] Write-in: Your dad used some kind of technique to rip out Lady Vegeta's location from your mind. (1 action).
--[X] Be careful, though, you wouldn't want your dad to find out you're learning this. The teacher should also preferably be someone not too fond of your dad or Dandeer (feel free to tell them how you really feel about the Sealing if they refuse to teach you because of that), or, if that's not possible, someone who will at least promise not to tell your dad. Also try to word your questions so that even if you do get found out, you can spin it as trying to learn how to defend yourself from it and not how to use it.
--[X] If you manage to get in contact with Yammar or the Senzus, ask them about this, and also ask the Senzus if they'd mind if you practiced on them (you'd only try to find unimportant information such as what they ate yesterday or what clothes they were, of course, not anything important or personal).
-[X] Gentle Soul (1 action): You don't like fighting, and you don't think you ever will. Effect: As you age and mature, take the time to reflect on your thoughts towards fighting and violence, and what they mean for you and your life. Develop "Gentle" trait.

I have a feeling that the quicker we get to Lord Yammar, the easier it'll be to convince him that we don't approve of the sealing. In addition, having those Yammar and the Senzus vouch for us would do wonders if we ever announced our true feelings about the Sealing.

Mind Delve sounds like a really useful skill, especially for interrogation or finding out if someone is telling the truth. I'd also like to find out if we could develop some sort of combat telepathy that'd let us know what our enemies are about to do.

As Gentle is one of our foundational traits, I'd like to turn it into something useful as soon as possible, or at least something that doesn't hamper our training.

Nah. But have some faith that if you make note of a desire for subtlety, I'll interpret your requests in the spirit they're meant. ;)
Well, as you can see by my vote for this update (and also from the contingencies in my vote for saving Jaffur), I like to add contingencies and micro-manage votes and stuff, even when it isnt necessary. Sorry!

A Super-Saiyan great ape is capable of curbstomping an SSJ3, and removing a limb from an angry superpowered monstrosity is not an easy thing to accomplish. It does get all the same protections as any other part of the body.
That's wrong, actually. Puar managed to cut off Oozaru Goku's tail while transformed into a giant pair of scissors, and I doubt he could have done that to any other part of Goku's body, or even to any of non-Oozaru Goku's limbs, given that non-Oozaru took an axe to the face with no blood (broke the axe, though).

It's the screws in the table. Standardized part of the training regimen for anybody who cares to learn.
Wait, they just let people learn that? All it takes is one crazy Saiyan and there's a bunch of Great Apes wreacking havoc on the world.

@Bommelom, as a point of order I'll note that Ki Sense is a Ki Talent and that the action to improve it is under Personal, but I'll interpret it correctly as it stands currently.

Wait, they just let people learn that? All it takes is one crazy Saiyan and there's a bunch of Great Apes wreacking havoc on the world.
Theoretically, sure. But consider the law enforcement:

"Chip chip cheerio Lord Vegeta, about that policy you suggested..."

"One moment, my fine friend Lord Goku, I hear someone on the other side of the planet using a Power Ball. I must punch them in the face to stop them"

*Three seconds later*

"Now, chap, you were saying something about my policy suggestion?"

"Oh, of course"

*political talk ensues*

Wait, they just let people learn that? All it takes is one crazy Saiyan and there's a bunch of Great Apes wreacking havoc on the world.

Oh, just because they offer the training doesn't mean they don't vet the candidates. Also this:

...what? The exile Saiyans, engaged in a perpetual masquerade for their own survival, let just anybody casually learn the ability which could involuntarily turn every Saiyan in the hemisphere into a rampaging monster at will?

The scion needs to change that. Like, discipline is a thing, but this is something allows a single person to accidentally cause the Saiyans to conquer the planet without even realizing what they're doing.

How about the fusion dance?
