So it's possible to convince her now but it wasn't possible in the time between her excommunication and before she left the Hall?
The immediate aftermath of the Sealing. That check was a straight-up insta-fail. But at some point between then and now she's been beaten down enough that you could manage it.

I do not guarantee success or failure rates, naturally.

Ok guys, I think we should try convincing her now. After that large beating down she's as pliable as she's going to get. Better we go to her now before she's had time to gather herself and build up her walls again. This could very well be our best chance to solve the Sealing peacefully and with diplomacy.

EDIT: Just to remind people, I'm putting in as many cookies as possible to maximise our chance of success here. With PoptartProdigy saying convincing her has become manageable it should get us decent odds of success.

First Form Frieza killed Bardock with a power level 50 times greater than he completely effortlessly even though he wasn't specifically targeting Bardock. A maximum-trained Full Power Super Saiyan is 75 times more powerful than a base Saiyan can possibly be, so how can mere numbers help at that point? Could they all keep up Kaioken x10 indefinitely? I mean...100,000 humans of a power level of 5 can't defeat First Form Frieza just because their total power level would be the same.

EDIT: Even with a drastically smaller difference in power, you still get this.

EDIT2: Wait...I think this has been answered before. Has this been answered before? Sorry if it has.
Missed this somehow. There are (extremely difficult) ways for numbers to outweigh that kind of power disparity, but more to the point, Oni was exhausted. He and Carrick were evenly matched. In fact, Carrick was the superior fighter. The fact that Carrick was trying to keep the fight away from the human world was Oni's only advantage. He was tapped out and heavily injured. When House Stauber made their move, the margin was substantially thinner and Oni couldn't even move his right leg.

And Vina? Are you saving that for a lore post?
Man, I am missing everything. Vina's regency was disastrous because she was a newborn orphan with no Lord or Matriarch to guide her, her mother had been quietly mobbed to death, her Clan in general was hostile and skeptical of her place in general after what her father pulled, and she was educated poorly. She was a remarkably talented woman, and that's the only reason her reign wasn't an unqualified disaster from start to finish once she grew up and set aside her (various, competing) regents. She was singular and deliberately ill-prepared for her position.

[X] Go to Dandeer. Inform her about Jaffur and Jaron, and try to convince her to help us with the unsealing in a way that won't hurt either of her sons.

I'll put 3 of my cookies into convincing her to accept. I'll put all of my cookies in if it involves more than one roll.
I stand with you.

If we're going to do this, it's time to look for levers. What Kakara has heard from Jaffur before the sealing, for instance. Her observation of his affection and fraternal protectiveness leaking through the seal. Hammer home that even unmasked he has noble features.

[X] Go see Fennella before you go.

Not sure we should go to Dandeer right away, as she is likely completely off her gourd in emotional turmoil.

I am actually enjoying this Yammar. He has done basically nothing but criticize Kakara, but he always makes it in the form of a lesson. Incredibly infuriating for any length of time, and quite possibly a reason his son was such a nutcase (always nitpicking etc) but pretty cool for Kakara, as she will always grow as a result of the interaction.
Sort of getting a Tywin Lannister feel from him actually (in turns irredeemable and sometimes almost sympathetic). As such my mental voice for him is now Charles Dance.

That and the way Grand-ma seems to like/respect him helps put him in a whole new light.

It's because of her emotional state that we should do it now. If we wait, she'll have gathered her thoughts and because she was rejected by her community she'll be more closed off than she is now or ever before. There is no other time when she is more likely to be convinced to break the Seal than now.

No, please, please, don't try and just make her reverse the sealing right now, this is a great time to try and get a wedge in (By establishing us as someone who's trustworthy and could give help if needed) but I really don't think we should jump straight to trying to get her to reverse the sealing, yes she's in a particularly emotional state right now but that could just as easily mean that she'll jump right to becoming even more protective of the only things in her life which don't hate her, it could be make it far easier for future action if we do that instead.

This vote will be somewhat quicker than most in order to return to the normal course of the year. In consideration of that, here is your preliminary, but not yet closed, vote tally:

As it presently stands, narrow victory for Fennella. For reference, I have announced that convincing Dandeer to drop the Seal is possible at this stage. It was an automatic failure in the immediate aftermath of the Sealing. Two years and a bit of work on your parts' later, it is now something that I have assigned a DC to. And with the right combination of approach, rolls, cookies, and/or circumstances, there is a non-zero chance of success.

However, I do feel it necessary to mention that I do not guarantee your chances of success, either positively or negatively. Do not ask.

Related to the above: Dandeer voters, please discuss among yourselves and add a sub-vote for how you will present this to Dandeer. No exact words, please, just a broad overview.

Talking to her about the Sealing, immediately after she's been excommunicated for it, seems like a bad idea.

[X] Go see Fennella before you go.

I'm tempted by the Dandeer vote, but I can't think of a good write-in, so if someone else can come up with one I might switch, otherwise Fennella it is.

How doesn't it fit the character? It's freeing Jaffur and that's her number one priority, greater in priority than how she frees him.
I was seeing her "I just want to be normal and have friends" aspect of her personality as winning here. And I don't think Kakara would see the oppertunity. Its definatly just my own oppion though. I'm not trying to force it on anyone.
