Alright. TBH I'm leaning towards Pittauro's vote:
[ ] Completely. Describe to him in complete detail who you and Dazarel are, how you both came to be here, and what your plans are.
- [] only exception, keep to yourself the location of Garenhuld. At least for now. It's not like it would be of any use of him and mind reading IS a thing.

... though maybe nix references to garenhuld entirely b/c of GarenSaiyan paranoia that's more deeply engraved than american patriotism?

Because while most of the pre-existing reasons I have to trust the character don't necessarily apply, and to some degree keeping that in mind is good, there are a couple that definitely do in that first impression.

Hm... did this universe's Z Fighters face off against U6 at any point? Because if so the arcosians might give cause for Kakara to worry about a "frost" situation. Then again, I doubt it would he enough throw off what's already been seen... hm.

You eyes widen. "Blue fields, green seas..." You look up into the sky, and your eyes widen. "...a namekian..."

...

"WILL YOU TWO SHUT UP?!"

The two of you go silent at the sudden voice. You look at Dazarel. "Was that...?"

"I WAS WILLING TO IGNORE YOU FOR THE MOMENT, BUT I'M BUSY FIGHTING SOMEBODY RIGHT NOW, AND I DON'T NEED THE DISTRACTION. WE'LL TALK ABOUT WHO YOU ARE AND WHY YOU'RE IN MY HEAD IN A MOMENT, BUT UNTIL THEN, UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET BLOWN UP WITH ME, BE QUIET AND LET ME FOCUS!"

...you nod, wide-eyed. "Yes, sir. Sorry!"

'Fine,' grumbles Dazarel, settling into a squat. The two of you look into the sky, and watch the fight.
This is gonna be good.

A hunch strikes you, and you call, "On the left!"

Your host, apparently, elects to trust you, and he dives as a beam cuts through the space only recently occupied by his head. "THANKS," his voice booms. He turns to engage a second fighter who managed to sneak up on him, firing a blast to ward them off before again turning towards the planet.
Did... did we just yell "DOOODGE!" at a Namekian?

The circle is complete.

That said, this time they're much more able to keep him off-course. With two of them to coordinate fire, they rapidly close the distance, and before long have him bracketed between them. He comes to a halt, trying to keep both of them in his line of sight. He touches a switch mounted on his wrist and speaks into a microphone in his helmet. "You don't want this fight," he says. "I'm just one guy with a backpack. What am I gonna do? The siege is going to go on whether or not you insist on risking your lives to stop me. Why not let me through and just save yourselves the trouble?" The aliens don't respond, and the namekian sighs. "Fine. You asked for it. HAH!"

...

As he straightens, you see several figures running towards him, and your blood runs cold. "Frost demons..."

"Arcosians," echoes his voice, now far easier on your ears. "Calling them frost demons is a big part of the problem here. Hold on a second." He steps forward and speaks aloud, raising his hand. "Polaris! I'm back!"

A frost de- arcosian with a white-on-green color scheme approaches, grinning. "Bassoon!"
To quote @Gore17 when a certain OC of mine revealed a certain attack...

Oh god, my sides.

Bassoon making initial approach [ki control v sensors dc]: 102 v 120. He gets into the middle of the fleet before being spotted
On a success would Bassoon have passed through the blockade fleet without being detected?

Combat precog interrupt? [DC 70, roll Sight]: 73, pass, Bassoon auto-passes dodge roll thanks to shouted warning
Kakara uses the Baleful Word! It's super effective!

And for our first landing: old friends, featuring the namekian adventurer, Bassoon! Give the man a hand, everybody!

We now enter the main play of this form of the quest: bouncing into random people's heads across the galaxy, occasionally getting dumped into extremely exciting scenarios. I hope this intrigues you all; I've been waiting to show this part of the setting for a while, and if there's an upside to the recent series of events, it's that I get to several in-game years in advance of when I'd expected. Strap in and enjoy yourselves, everybody! Hope you had fun. :D
Yaaay!

I'm gonna vote either for "Completely," "Completely" with a few redactions about the precise nature and location of Garenhuld, or for something like @Cariyaga 's write-in: "Here is who we are, and we'll tell you more soon, once we get to know each other a little better."

Hey, there's a name I recognize.

[ ] Completely. Describe to him in complete detail who you and Dazarel are, how you both came to be here, and what your plans are.
[ ] Incompletely. Let him know that you're a saiyan, and broadly that you're rootless and looking for a way home, but conceal your nobility and the precise nature of your exile. Similarly, don't share too freely who and what Dazarel is and does.

I'm willing to risk someone deducing that there's a planet with saiyans on it somewhere within Dazarel's striking distance, because I'm pretty sure his striking range is LONG. Also, we may win increased credibility with Bassoon through a reputation as a dragonslayer, especially if he knows who Dazarel is specifically which is admittedly far from a certainty.

Establishing rapport with Bassoon strikes me as a very good idea. Bassoon has magic of his own and likely contacts with other Namekians, in addition to being, it seems, a respectably powerful fighter in his own right. He may know things he can usefully teach us, while on the other hand we surely know things we could usefully teach him- I bet this blockade run of his would have gone a lot easier if he'd known Instant Transmission!

Plus, y'know, if we ever decide we want to turn Dazarel into dragonballs, we now know that we probably CAN accomplish that, and I bet Bassoon knows a guy who knows a guy. :p

...

[ ] Almost completely. Precisely describe yourself and the situation that cast you into exile. Identify Dazarel by name, and in his capacity as a very very sealed dragon we defeated. But withhold the name of your homeworld, and any other information that you think could plausibly result in Bassoon learning or being able to deduce the location of Garenhuld.
- [ ] Explain that the location of your homeworld is a very important secret to your people, for very important reasons, and one you cannot risk sharing at this time.

[ ] Incompletely. Let him know that you're a saiyan, and broadly that you're rootless and looking for a way home, but conceal your nobility and the precise nature of your exile. Similarly, don't share too freely who and what Dazarel is and does.
- [ ] Inform him explicitly that your explanation is incomplete. You'll be happy to tell him more as you get to know him.

Strongly leaning towards this. It makes good sense to tell as much as we can without leaking even the slightest bit of information about Garenhuld.

The problem I have with this following plan is that its probably a bad idea to let anyone know that there's a large society of saiyans. Even aside from The Enemy there's plenty of folk who have good reason to be afraid of a society of saiyans. Frieza was warry enough that he blew up the original saiyan homeworld even before there were super saiyans running around. Even if Bassoon is a good bloke there's always the possibility he's a bad liar or vulnerable to mind reading (as others have noted).

I say almost complete.

But, yes Namekian found check

Namekian sorcerer found CHECK

Namekian Sorcerer recruited in progress.

Meat body acquired...kinda this sympathetic possession is better.

"Today I have: a priceless fortune in Earth-vintage tech!" He chuckles, and your eyes widen as the massive pile of capsules on the ground. "Just kidding. It's the stuff inside, like usual."

This might just be a standard joke, but it's possible that Bassoon already has suspicions about who we are and is screwing with us. If so, honesty would serve us well. At minimum, I agree with admitting that we have opsec concerns.

I would personally argue for incomplete, while explicitly saying we have OPSEC concerns and might tell him more later. All he really needs to know is that we're a shade on a vision quest to save our world from an evil mind-controlling sorceress.

I'm pretty sure he has no clue who we are, not least of all because even if he did think we were Saiyans, why would the Children of Bulma ever forget her greatest contribution!

'I can't believe you, Ape Princess,' hisses Dazarel. 'Not enough to lock me in this puny form, not enough to rip out my soul and drag me to the Afterlife and back, but now you drop me in one of the slugs?!
So depending on how close attention Bassoon was paying to us when we first entered, Dazarel may have already let slip that we're a Saiyan.

Uh...don't we currently have a tail? Also, even the lowest-information default option ("[ ] Cagily. You're a saiyan. He's a dragon. You weren't aiming for Bassoon's head in particular. You don't want to share anything else.") includes owning up to being a Saiyan - presumably because attempting to conceal it at this point is futile.

So, things we should tell him.

1- We are a saiyan. Not only has Daz already let that slip but our people were friends.

2- Daz is a prisoner and we beat him. We are not friends. Important since heseems well known.

3- A sorceress took control of our planet with mind control and we escaped. We should inform him of at least that much since we are looking for help against that.

Going with this, I think.

I'm going with this. The Sight wouldn't have sent us to him if he wasn't trustworthy, and from what we've seen he sounds pretty heroic.

I also don't think it matters if he's a bad liar or not, because our whole story is unbelievable enough that I don't think anyone would believe him even if he tried to tell them about it, especially since there's no proof at all. It doesn't matter how bad of a liar he is if nobody will ever suspect the truth.

As for his mind being read, that is a possible but as he's a Namekian Sorcerer he probably has some kind of defenses against that, and I don't think it'd really matter that much as long as he doesn't know the location of Garenhuld.

Can we use the Sight to See targets for IT further than our regular Ki-Sensing range? I think I've thought of this a few times and discounted it on the basis that it would have already been thought of by another Seer, but if they're all bored antisocial recluses with a much smaller PL...

Hey PoptartProdigy, just curious can we learn or train from Beerus and Whis if we get in contact with them apart from his style and Hakai?
That's not how you tag someone. You just put the name with an @ in front of it, like so: @Jrin. It doesn't work if you edit it in though, so you'll have to make a new post.

Here's the thing. While those are not implausible assumptions - hell, I'd go so far as to say you're probably right - we're gambling with the survival of literally everyone we've ever known here. I think a little paranoia is not out of place, especially as he's unlikely to have an immediate use for more elaboration than the Incomplete option gives.
