Hrm. A consideration. Whatever the item in our hand is, it is most likely not just a Senzu bean, since I can see little reason for the individual involved not to have simply dropped it into our mouth in that case instead.
I wouldn't be so sure. Making sure we swallow takes time and we were already under attack by Vegeta so it is possible he just didn't have time for that. And Jaffur had just proved that putting it in their mouth is not enough, you have to get them to recognize it and swallow it.

Goddammit Jaffur. Eat your beans, they're good for you. Don't you wanna grow up big and strong? Because it's gonna be a little harder to not get Sealed for good now.

Welp, I think despite faultily expecting Jaffur to eat his damn medicine and expecting Kakara to turn on a dime and rush Vegeta as soon as Jaffur starts getting up, ganking Vegeta would've been the superior option. We explicitly got sniped because we had our back turned and couldn't sense well enough to detect the attack coming.

So as long as Yammar and Vegeta are kept busy, Dandeer isn't in much danger of being evacced or healed. So Senzu bean is obvious. We have Full Restores for a reason, and that reason is getting mostly but not totally smoked. But I swear if we knew that it was a Senzu in our hand then this would be a clear choice that would be faster than fishing one from our pocket, but now there's just enough ambiguity that we might get screwed. Basic rpg tactics, it matters less who can kill who fastest if one side can heal your damage effectively enough.

There's the fact that she has mind slaves who aren't active combatants right now (our teacher). So with any (bad) luck we're going to get up to find Dandeer missing with Sight finding her completely blocked.

How are people salting out about this, it's the easiest turn we've had in months.

[X] Eat the damn senzu bean
-[X] Check to make sure Dandeer hasn't disappeared

I'd rather not commit to who we decide to fight next in this vote. Yammar was gaining the upper hand against Apra the last time we checked; she might need the help more than Jaffur does.

Also, we might not want to SPECIFICALLY assume and take for granted that the thing in our hand is a senzu bean, as opposed to, say, a whole pouch of senzu beans that we don't want to try and chew all at once.

If you're confident (as I am) that the thing in Kakara's hand is a senzu bean or bag of same, it would probably be best to just use the canned option text.

[ ] What is this thing somebody has slipped you? Find out.

Or if you really MUST

[ ] What is this thing somebody has slipped you? Find out.
-[ ] If it's a senzu bean, eat it.

Although in that latter case... why bother not just going with the canned vote?

See, the good thing I will say for this vote structure is that we haven't had the problem of needing long, complex chains of actions. We get a situation, we get to make a decision, we get to resolve that decision. Then we get to act on the next decision. And that's fine. If Poptart wants to give us a next update consisting of "you think the thing in your hand is a bag of senzu beans, what do you do?" we can deal with that pretty easily. There's no pressing need to specify conditionals in advance when we can just vote on them as they arise.

So far we've (maybe) had problems from Kakara (apparently) making suboptimal use of her abilities, but not so much problems caused by us not specifying what Kakara will do next after carrying out a specific action. Poptart HAS been good about that part, which is good because it eliminates the need for us to construct elaborate decision-tree plan votes of the kind Poptart does not want to see and which intimidate voters.

Yeah.

I agree, we need to find out what's in our hand, and if it isn't a senzu bean (or bag of them) we need to bitchslap Jaffur after this fight. Y'know, the bitchslap of thanks.

Back now!

Kakara's current thought is that Jaffur wasn't doing a, "ew, don't want my medicine, ick." Kakara believes that what was happening was Jaffur in general being very defensive when in a position of vulnerability. Readers may recall from Kakara's visions that Jaffur tends to start awake if he so much as hears a noise when he sleeps. When he's unconscious as the result of being shot in the back, and gets slapped awake with somebody yelling at him, the sounds of ongoing combat and agonized screaming going on in the background, and there's something strange in his mouth, it's not too surprising that his first reaction is, "I don't know what that is but it's going the fuck somewhere else."
@PoptartProdigy , I ask this without salt, because I sincerely desire to know... was it difficult for him to do this? Did it require more than just a straight exercise in rolling the Ki Control vs. Ki Sense test you put in the invisitext?

Because if it's that easy to do, then if Kakara survives this she should look into doing it more often, because it's one hell of a killer app. And her ki control is probably as good as Lord Vegeta's, while most opponents have inferior ki sense to hers...
Well, he rolled all of the typical rolls that involve shooting somebody, for one, and for another, what I posted was merely the last control vs. sense check he had to make (albeit the hardest). He had to spoof once to establish the deception, once to maintain it, and once to split focus between maintaining the deception and lining up his shot. Then one final Ki Control check to transform and burst high before Kakara could react, which was the check you saw. There was also a willpower check vs. distraction, because even though he has (obviously) trained up his tail, ow that fucking stings.

In general, though, ki control is the opposed check to ki sense, yes.
@PoptartProdigy Curiousity begs: Did the cookies and [Sizing up an opponent], [Supporting magical allies], and [DOOOOOOOOOOOOODGE!] omake bonuses not apply, or were they added and not enough, and the post with them not been updated yet?
A combination of them. For one thing, it's a max of one cookie/greater bonus and one lesser bonus per check. Some of the bonuses you listed weren't applicable in the first place (you're not supporting a magical ally, nor were you examining Vegeta with an eye towards determining his strengths and weaknesses). Dodge did apply in conjunction with one other, and those reduced the magnitude of Vegeta's success (had the margin been wider, you'd be unconscious, and I would've dumped you straight to Visionland). They didn't cancel it out entirely, though, and then you hit the stacking limit.
...Yeah.

Poptart doesn't tend to smile upon votes where we try to optimize exactly how we best make use of our abilities. So the game is set up such that we have to trust them to have Kakara make best use of her abilities, which, uh... eeeeeh, sometimes.
That's a little disingenuous. I frown on intimidating essay votes, because they tend to alienate people from participating and also make tallying a pain. I quite love people coming up with clever ideas, though. That's why I've been trialing all these changes in how I handle voting, lately. I'm trying to find the middle ground.
how the fuck do you spoof going super sayain
You don't. You spoof your power level continuing its trend of falling, line up your shot, and then burst to max power as you shoot.

If you roll high enough, it's possible.

Do the Exiles know of the Legendary Super Saiyan?
Because, uh, you see... Broly is canon now. As in, Toriyama level Canon. So, yeah.
Edit: See, the Legendary Super Saiyan isn't a regular transformation, but a single, specific saiyan of absurd power, to the extent that Canon! Broly is shown forcing Goku all the way to SSB just from getting pissed off at him. This means that if the Legendary Super Saiyan is reborn, which happens roughly every ten thousand years it, uh, might be a problem.

My concern with checking to see what jaffur passed us is failing a willpower check to identify it and passing out before we can chomp it.

Edit: No willpower check for that apparently. Nvm

[X] What is this thing somebody has slipped you? Find out.

I'm just worried checking to see what it is will waste time we can't afford. Dandeer getting TP'd out at this juncture would be really bad.

The legend exists, and everybody is thrilled that no one has turned up with the ability.
