Dammit, the one time the legendary saiyan appetite would have been helpful, jaffur had to be picky about eating food waved under his nose.

Jaffur was training specifically to kill Vegeta, prior to the Sealing. That was his one goal in life. Using the skills he developed for this purpose, he was able to defeat Berra during the Sealing, despite Berra having a very different stylistic and tactical focus than Vegeta (melee and instant transmission instead of ranged Vegeta Style blast combat).

This suggests that Jaffur's fighting ability (combination of power level, techniques, et cetera) was at least comparable to or approaching that of Berra. In what was for them a protracted battle, so not just a lucky shot on Jaffur's part.

Now, Jaffur+5 has trained inside Jaffur's mind, and quite effectively if his ability to go FPSS is any guide. Jaffur+5 has almost certainly come MUCH farther in the past five years than Berra+5 has. I would now bet on Jaffur+5 being Berra+5's equal.

If you're correct in thinking that Vegeta+5 is weaker than Berra+5 (because of Vegeta not having trained in the intervening five years, if nothing else)... then if Jaffur+5 can hold his own against Berra+5, as seems likely, then I would bet on Jaffur+5 having the upper hand against Vegeta, or at a bare, pitiful minimum, being able to hold his own.

Furthermore, Jaffur doesn't actually have to win this. He just has to hold his own long enough for Dandelor to cast the mind control breaking spell twice. Or possibly once. He's in exactly the same position we would have been in under your plan, and while he doesn't have the massive advantage of a Dandeer-flail (which we would have had under your plan), he's a much more skillful fighter to begin with.

I voted for your plan Simon and I did say Jaffur was likely to win meaning I judged him to be stronger then VV I was just accounting for unknown factors such as VV's ability to pull off extraordinary feats so at this point I'm just buckling in for him to some how pull off a willpower push and crush Jaffur if we can't get back into this although you couldn't have known that so any confusion over the situation is on me.

I think he was spoofing his ki signature so that it looked like he was still transforming from Golden Great Ape to base. Although it is beyond me how he managed to do that under the current circumstances and then go Super Saiyan all the well remaining in stealth so at the very least the man has skills I'll give him that.

I mean the only possible way I can think he managed it is if he got back control mid transformation and manually controlled the decline of his power level so that Kakara would still think the transformation would be ongoing even as he proceeded to go Super Saiyan well simultaneously lowering his power level alongside the boost to maintain around the same power level and decline rate. Then he lined up his shot well maintaining a slowly declining power level to keep up appearances before at the very last second pushing his power level to max and taking the shot. And of course this entire time he wouldn't have been able to move his position at all to get a better shot as his movement would alert Kakara that he wasn't transforming anymore.

Ah, I missed that specific bit, or at least how it related. That pretty much settles the series of events for me, though.

Jaffur catches Kakara and tries to get away. Vegeta pursues and likely taunts him? Jaffur grabs the pouch with the beans, but Vegeta attacks. They fight, with Jaffur trying to force Vegeta away and/or get Kakara free for a moment. He gets an opportunity and gives her a Senzu bean.

What we should do next is pretty clear. Let's not waste time being difficult like Jaffur did, and instead let's just eat the bean.

...If he just put the bag in our hand rather then a bean were just going to shove a whole bunch of cloth into our mouth but meh we can always rip it with our teeth so it doesn't really matter so I say we just slam what ever is in our hand into our mouth and swallow.
 
I suppose now's the time to shovel a bean.

After that dunno there's only two of them around right and Jaffur's meant to be a badass.

While I agree that the time would have been wasted, do bear in mind how high Poptart has indicated the Bad End threshold to be. Things would definitely be going badly (moreso than they currently are), but not so much so as to erase all possibility of continuation.

And done all of this against the best kind sensor on the planet. I guess Kakara is the only one who gets penalized for complex actions, because I feel like we would be eating a tremendous penalty if we tried something like that.
 
If we roll to figure out what's in our hand, do we get a bonus if we guess correctly? And can we vote to have the vision if we fail? Or is that too much at once?

Clearly Kakara should have taken lessons from Trunks on proper medical procedure.
 
Hrm. A consideration. Whatever the item in our hand is, it is most likely not just a Senzu bean, since I can see little reason for the individual involved not to have simply dropped it into our mouth in that case instead.

Sucking chest wounds (and I'm pretty sure this one sucks) are important. The vision may be important but I don't want to die from neglecting the sucking chest wound.

Alternatively, Kakara rolled like an 8 and Vegeta rolled like a 93.

I mean, if this is the dice gods throwing a karmic backswing at us for effectively critting and controlling Spirit Saiyan, a feat no one ever accomplished in game/movie canon as far as I know, and which would be literally impossible without a willpower bonus of +40 or higher...

I'd say it's a fair trade.
