but then they will be less likely to get into shenanigans!

they need to have some room for their spinoff show!
If it's just the three of them, you'll have two sane people and Janna.

Adding Norm to the equation allows for more shenanigans.

Well its not outright magic, but everyone had a good time, but uh.....what happened with Mirage and TECHNOR?
Interlude: Company Retreat- Merrie Melodies, Part 1 of 2

what happened with Mirage and TECHNOR?

TECHNOR approached Mirage in the break room, catching up with El Matador de Amor on her tablet.

BUT WAIT! In season 7 episode 14 of DoofQuest, Mirage explicitly said she doesn't use any device in public with out headphones. This isn't Mirage... it's her twin sister Illusion from season 3!

Will Technor be able to catch the illusive temptress in her lies? Tune in next time for the thrilling conclusion.

Sheesh, Hego messed up trying to talk to our Most Hated Rival huh. Hope it's just a normal failure not a horrible one.
I might be wrong but I think short of a Nat 1 Personal Actions probably don't do anything actively detrimental and MiH already said that with the roll for this action being a crit all the personal actions will go at least reasonably well with the rolls just determining how well

At worst their conversation went the way that they always do
Well its not outright magic, but everyone had a good time, but uh.....what happened with Mirage and TECHNOR?
I imagine the more serious stuff is being saved for the second part, Doof meeting with Roger, Goofy's college course, Hego talking with Shego and Technor psychoanalysing Mirage, though on the bright side with Technor's roll we'll almost certainly get a definitive answer on the hypnosis thing and he might even break it himself if that's possible

On a semi related note Russ is now absolutely necessary on all Doomtown action, both for Doom himself and in case we have to deal with Phantom Blot

And Wile E.'s modified trait is nothing to sneeze at either

A note that Russ' trait won't proc on Doom himself unless Russ learns or has reason to suspect that he is a Toon. That being said, if the action relates to Toons in some way- which a lot of actions involving Doom might- then it will.

I'm actually only 90% sure it's goofy.
The only other person I could possibly be in my mind is Genghis Khan. Because what do we really know about that guy.and it seems like the kind of bait-and-switch qm would do.
Right or Khan, man were gonna have a lot on our plate huh.

When you finally get around to starting your musical, you will gain +40 to the first roll as they have already laid the groundwork!
Anyway does anyone want to do hire Juniper and do our musical next turn, cause I'm noticing a lack of songs coming from Doofania.

On the bright side Goofy and Khan aren't exactly difficult people to increase the Loyalty of

For Goofy his -5 malus will probably go away over time and we can get a bonus from doing more pro Toon things, helping him find his friends and probably by having Max hang out with him

And with Khan we can do the Mongol Training Action, which we probably should do soon anyway, to lower or get rid of his -10 Malus and getting him a cool steed once Jumba does Dino Domesricstion would probably net us some as well

Eh, I do want to get her at some point but I feel like we have too many other priorities for Diplomacy

Getting the second action if/when we can, Von Drake and possibly Mesmerella depending on what's happening with Mirage

Wile E Coyote has buried the hatchet with his old nemesis and gained some insight into his previous failures! ACME Unlimited has been enhanced! If any National Action Wile E is on would become a crit if ACME Unlimited lands heads, it automatically lands heads!
Holy shit that's a good trait coyote.

Coyote/Russ combo might legitimately become a new go-to problem solving squad

I was wondering when we would get into meta narrative exploitation.

On that note we should invest in Toon Town development if only for the clouds. Free dramatic lightning will boost our image and the weather report can probably tell us if something is up in Doofania.

Heck, we should try making more Toon *period*...just to piss off Doom more and make his maddened campaign utterly fruitless.

Something I think of interest in Russ's revealed ability: it says "OTHER Toons."

Not sure if this is a minor typo, or if Russ is a secret Toon like Doom.
Tooned In: Agent Russ has a preternatural understanding of comedic timing and narrative convention, and has figured out how to weaponize that knowledge. He gains +10 to all rolls made in Quests with other Toons, rolls against Toons, or on National Actions involving Toons. He also gains +20 to knowledge rolls related to Toon personages or history.

Huh, you're right.

Speaking of which, taking a peek at his character sheet revealed this:
?????: +25 (You're not sure what it is or why, but you have a feeling something about working at DEI is making Russ a lot happier than he would otherwise be.)
I could have swore this loyalty boost was from his Toon preference, but considering we still haven't unlocked it's description despite figuring out his Toon preference makes me think it's something else?

The Danville Performing Arts center was the premier destination for any off-broadway shows that were passing through the Tri-State Area. The population boom following DEI's expansion into the surrounding regions had drawn more people than ever before, making the city the a haven for theatre in the Midwest.
This, more than anything else in the update, pleases me. I am one step closer to accomplishing my goals for this quest! :D

If Russ turns out to be a Toon, that would make him a Good Counterpart to Doom. Just Look at Them:

Both are Toons masquerading AS Human WHO Took up a role AS governmental authority Figures to blend in And are noticeably stoic an serious while in character, but can BE far more unrestrained If Need BE - including using Toon antics in their favor

Honestly, WE could use a Good Counterpart to Doom after Jessica Rabbit probably got Dipped...

1d100 + Relevant stat of Doofenshmirtz + relevant stat of assigned hero + trait bonuses of Doof or assigned hero + loyalty bonus of hero+omake bonus

We really should start training Doofenshmitz BTW.

Considering how he messed with Doom at the Sands and his respect for Goofy this is actually a bit obvious in hindsight!

Well, that went well. Russ now is our go-to anti-Doom even more than he was, Wile has gotten another upgrade, and our Doof Troop has been established.

You know, Russ rambling about how Toons remind him of brighter days before everything went to shit (meaning, before the various Disney verses ended with their respective villains winning and the heroes either dying, going into hiding or changing teams) made me thinking about something we could do:

In the end, Doof is the closest these US have left to a prominent heroic and "wacky" character compared to all the other ruthless moguls and psychotic asshats like Yokai, Doom, Bellwether and Sydrome. Sure, there are those more pragmatic and affable Kings like Shere Khan and Xanatos, but they are still villains in the end who don´t really care that much about others any more than is prudent...

What if we used our status as a King (laughed-at as it may be at the moment) to give all those persecuted by our competition somewhere to live uafraid (as long as they aknowledge us as being the boss)? Just imagine it: We could end with Supers and Anthros, what we started with Toons and become the ultimate Equal-Opportunity "Evil" Overlord, bringing back all the wonder this world has lost after Divergence.

Honestly a pretty awesome way of winning by "living long enough to see yourself become the hero", while still fulfilling the criteria of being an Evil Overlord as per the quest
