You know, hiring the guy who made mind control-tech would be pretty useful, if only for the ability to reverse engineer it and come up with anti-mind control/hypnotism tech. Maybe we could try hiring him on temporarily for something like that in the future.

Regarding Phantom Blots Hypnotic Powers, I remember one Comic where they were a bit more subtle and complicated then his usual Cases of it.
From what I can recall, he hypnotized Donald to lead Mickey into a Trap. Donald was mostly acting like himself throughout the whole Thing, with the Standard swirly Eyes and robotic Voice that usually come with PB'S Hypnosis only showing up when PB gave him direct Orders over their psychic Link. However, even then it wasn't perfect. When PB tried to order Donald to go back and let Mickey walk into the Trap on his own, Donald at first obeyed, but then whirled around and went back after Mickey, implying that this kind of Hypnosis is harder to pull of if you try to make the Subject do something that they would normally never do, like leaving your Friend behind. Or it could just be that Donald is SO stubborn that mind-controlling him is really hard.

Of course, I have no clue if Phantom Blot EVER used that Form of Hypnosis outside of that one Comic. I certainly never saw it being used anywhere else. Usually, his Hypnosis really is this standard and incredibly obvious 'Robotic-Voice-with-swirly-Eyes'-Stuff. So yeah, it's a pretty fair bet that he really just used his personal Charisma without any Hypnosis to make Mirage like him. If this Guy even IS PB to begin with.

With all the talk about Phantom Blot, I was reminded of the after tonight Interlude. Do y'all think this might be them?
As the horde of gangsters, madmen, and supervillains raced for Duckburg, a shadow slunk out of the emptied city-prison behind them. It clapped, applause ringing through empty halls.

"My my my, what an impressive performance. I will simply have to ensure I have a good act to follow it."

[ ] Investigate crime in LA
DC ???

Criminals in LA have apparently begun organizing into an impressively unified outfit, and are making waves around the city. Not only are they becoming a force to be reckoned with in their own right, Agent Russ has expressed some concerns that they may be taking an interest in DEI actions in the area. It might be a good idea to figure out what's going on here.

Reward: ???

We should probably pick this next turn if we want to get an idea about what is going on.

Considering that Hawk still got an unprecedented failure even though he rolled a 100+, I REALLY do not want to touch LA. I am more worried about Middleton. Those Drugs are showing no signs of stopping and they are basically next door unlike LA.

But we crimeproofed our territory, so for the next year we should be safe from it. I personally would prefer looking into possible Star appearance. We have [ ] Look into wayward supers Mirage personal action, as well as [ ] Investigate the cape scene intrigue action.

that's our territory. Also, we didn't "crime-proof" anything. We just inflicted a significant malus on crime trying to make a comeback. But that doesn't matter, becaue we'd be sending our hero into L.A.

edit: Misread the post, missed your initial point. Sorry.

Should we start poking around Gravity Falls? Or should we wait until we've raised our occult level higher to deal with that can of worms? Also, if crime ever makes a resurgence, I say we should just assume control over it instead of just wiping it out. Makes it easier to deal with and ensures no outside sources can mess with Doofania's inner workings

Definitely wait until we are much better at the Occult. I'm NOT willing to go anywhere near Bill Cipher without at least some means to combat him.

If I had to guess, the reason that [ ] Investigate crime in LA is a ??? is probably that it will end up being an opposed roll against whoever's running the crime ring.
