Having watched Soul, I wonder if DEI space program would be what we need to get Russ back.

Considering the soul dude from the interlude in the movie opens a portal from the soul realm to outer space close to Earth, not on Earth itself. A soul can travel through outer space safely to their body on Earth but Russ's body is specifically in the soul realm. So if we were to have a space station the portal could be opened nearby and we could theoretically rescue him in space and then bring him back to Earth.

I feel like you're interpreting that scene more literally then it was probably meant for.

Hi Blot, long time no see*.

*Do we have any other inky figures with glowing eyes that could be it?
Could also be a reference to Russ, somehow?
We forgot Russ, but we didn't forget his nemesis. His nemesis that specifically came to this city for him. And we keep close track of petty grudges and enmities of all flavors.
EDIT: I mean, what, did Blot abandon tormenting the man who's systemically oppressing and executing his entire species because Hienz was so good at intrigue? Because Mirage was so in tune with toons?

Hm, I wonder what's going on here. Doof, despite his issues, is so self-actualized that he's been basically doing immersion therapy by watching all his dreams? A little like how in Lion King it's implied that Simba got over his hangups enough to head back to the Pride Lands so fast because he'd been dealing with them subconsciously via his nightmares for years beforehand, only Doof can be a little more targeted about it since he's in his own head.

Also, I wonder if the buildings are a Doof-related quirk where he has a bunch of semi-Core memories(few individual backstories are massive influences on his personality, but in aggregate any 5 or 6 can likely be said to have that sort of impact) or possibly his timeline being messed up has caused a reflexive defense where he protects his memories a little more strenuously than most people do.

It's probable that he's either aware of Russ or could point Technor and Dreamfinder in the right direction, for one thing. He may not have been scanning his own subconscious deliberately for any weirdness, but he's probably noticed some odd things if he's been sitting there watching in the theater this whole time. It's been, what, a month or so in-universe since he got frozen? He probably doesn't really need sleep in the conventional sense either, so this whole thing might work out to a bunch of self-discovery Personals if Dreamfinder can play his cards right.

I don't think Doof's doing immersion therapy here, I think Doof's just experiencing all the dreams he'd normally experience anyway if he slept for two months straight.

I mean, his therapist is *right here* now, so theoretically speaking they could do some impromptu introspection together - once confidentiality has been re-asserted by shooing away Dreamfinder, of course.

Well yes, now.

Although given that this entire medical procedure is only possible with Dreamfinder's help, maybe he counts as being under similar confidentiality constraints? Like, if a therapist works with a deaf patient and relies on a sign-language interpreter, on the one hand, they need that interpreter to be sworn to confidentiality, but on the other hand, I can't imagine that it's legally impossible to arrange that.

I meant "shooing him away" as in "making him physically-ish leave the Theater and wait outside until the session has been finished", not as in "kick him back into the Real World".

But yeah, I think extending the Oath of Confidentiality to Dreamfinder in this specific context should be in line with Technors professional ethics under the "Necessary Intermediary Clause" you just provided.

...I mean, "strike the iron while it´s hot" and all, you know?

im most curious if the two/three of them find any clues to Russ.
Like, Dreamfinder might just get intrigued enough to look for that person?

Dreamfinder sort of is acting as an "interpreter" in this case being the technor's dream guide so it checks out maybe he can plug his ears or give enough space for privacy.

So if they wind up visiting Doof's Headquarters how do you think his emotions will be? And any guesses for what his Islands of Personality are?

Honestly, my best guess at who would be in charge is shared control by Fear and Disgust. You'd think with Doof's amount of petty hatreds and "evil", it'd be Anger, but Doof is not really a man driven by Anger. All of his "revenge" schemes are more akin to proportional (or slightly over-the-top) retributions for past slights committed than real attempts to seriously harm or kill his enemies.

So, between his various neuroses (fear) and his petty slights and grudges (disgust), I'd think those would be in charge, with Sadness in charge of the Backstory Console, Anger in charge of the Create-a-Inator panel, and Happiness in charge of Vanessa and Perry interactions.

Evil Island, Petty Revenge Island, Family Island and Backstory Island.
My Nemesis Island.

Appropriately, Disgust and Fear's colors are green and purple, respectively...

I think the Nemesis Island 'machinery' would still be functional, but it wouldn't really go, because the activating core memories have all turned to Sadness.
