Yeah, this sounds like Gideon Gleeful to me. Especially that laugh, that definitely sounds like something he'd do.

And while Gideon is too closely associated with Bill Cipher for my peace of mind, he's also perfectly capable of working on his own initiative, so we haven't necessarily attracted Bill's attention any more than the Probabilinator already did.

Plus, Gideon acting alone feels about right for a 41. He's bad news, but he's not exactly the brightest bulb, despite what he thinks of himself.

Well this guy doesn't sound fun. I mean, he avoids making simple quips in the privacy of his own mind? How boring.

Artemis is a genuine genius and incredibly socially maladjusted. And has a thing about being calm, collected and in control at all times. Part of it is isolation from an inability to see others as peers due to said big brain--obviously exacerbated by being a smarmy ass preteen from old ass nobility who was taught to see others as lesser by virtue of birth.

Another large part of it was being from technically being destitute despite the heritage and then loosing his dad (without confirmation of death so Yay uncertainty) as a young age in an "accident." This caused his mom to go bug fuck crazy. As in completely lost touch with reality delusional. She regularly doesn't recognize her own son and instead treats preteen son like he's the father. That level of crazy. So prior to the books themselves Artemis had to be "man of the house" in terms of managing the estate (of course he isn't going to do something as silly as selling the giant Mansion they use 10% of!!) and prevent his last remaining parent from getting carted away/having himself torn away and placed under state care (do they do foster homes in the UK?) due to dad functionally being dead and mom being clearly incapable.

His only real social tie is his Bodyguard/butler who is literally called Butler. As in Butler's family served the Fowls for so long that in universe thats where the term butler came from. Yeah. Totally good grounds for developing healthy social framework right her. And also why I said "looks like Doof's Dadometer is pinging" when DM confirmed Artemis Fowl was in universe.

The sad thing is Artemis is capable of becoming a genuinely good person, but it's difficult considering his situation, and the whole matter of the guilt he'll feel over his actions will literally have him begin to go crazy and develop a complex that should be impossible for humans to develop.

It's honestly a shame this didn't happen. I wonder if it would finally cause Xanay to crack.

*whack*

Bad!

I really don´t want David to actually crack - lose his cool and get startled aboutjust what kind of people-shaped mess Doof is, but not *crack*

He is far too important an ally and too pleasant a person for me to want him to genuinely suffer.

No death penalty in Doofania? I don't think Germany has one but Doofenschmirtz is from Drusselstein which was part of the H.R.E. and they definitely executed people via beheadings, stoning, and they crushed heretics I think.

Funfact, some states in Germany still have laws regarding the death penalty, but since Federal law is superior to State law, that stuff gets overruled and so, there is no death penalty in all of Germany - unlike the USA, where every state seems to be doing whatever they want.

...Although German states still have a lot of autonomy, which unfortunately is one reason why our current anti-pandemic response is absolute *shite* (The other two reasons are a government that thinks that "sitting things out and silently grab some money on the sidelines" is an appropriate course of action on one hand and a extrem-right movement that outright sabotages any responses as "attack on democracy")

Wait, will there be Artemis Fowl? And if so, book or *shudder* movie?

Ix-nay on at-thay

What a minute, Dream Boy 25 seems to be a play on Dream Boy High, the franchise where Xyler and Craz from Gravity Falls came from. We clearly didn't let them have that phone, we don't know where it came from, it's referencing something from Gravity Falls, and the voice on the other end was described as young...

It's Bill Cipher.
There are 41 episodes of Gravity Falls according to the wiki.

And what did LOVEMUFFIN just roll?
Alright, now that I'm done with the initial panic over the possibility of it being Bill...

It probably isn't, there are too many possibilities for us to assume it was him. Let's not fall back into the trap of assuming everything that might be bad for us is connected to him.

*sighs*

Isn´t *everything* in this quest in the end about Bill one way or another?

But seriously, no, I don´t think it´s Bill (at least not *directly*) this time, because the interlude lacks his usual shenanigans, like yellow/invisible text or eldritchness.

...Really?

The woman who got so fed up with her Doof-like boss that she overthrew him at the first possible moment and shunted him to become her dogsbody, who gets very annoyed at Doof whenever they talk for how similar he and that very former boss are despite us having gotten more and more competent over time...

That woman is now supposed to even bother with a *whole cabal* of Drakkens/Doofs?

I think not.

The sad thing is Artemis is capable of becoming a genuinely good person, but it's difficult considering his situation, and the whole matter of the guilt he'll feel over his actions will literally have him begin to go crazy and develop a complex that should be impossible for humans to develop.

So he is surprisingly similar to David and to a small extent even Doof himself...huh

B) If you could recruit any one person within the Doofquest universe that could theoretically be recruitable, who would it be?

C) If you could recruit any one person from any universe (assuming they aren't too OP), who would it be?

A) Dingo.
B) Artemis Fowl II, because the Intrigue/Occult focus would probably do wonders for some of our weaker fields.
C) Discord from My Little Pony, just because he is kind of hilarious and watching him interact with Bill would be a riot.

Well, my idea was either she or Evelyn Deavor doing groundwork to cross us over later.
But... why though? There's a difference between first cultivating a relationship and then betraying someone, and just sneaking an opportune attack. To deliberately plan to do so seems inefficient, especially since we have no particular ideological opposition and are not really in competition in a relevant field.

(Note this is different from making plans for how to turn against us, which is only prudent, as long as not too much time is invested.)

To pass the time, I've got a three-part question for you all:

A) If you could recruit any one person currently within our reach to recruit, who would it be?

C) If you could recruit any one person from any universe (assuming they aren't too OP), who would it be?

A) Go-Go, becaaaause....
B) Hiro Hamada, because I loved the movie and I want us to use his genius to further our goals. And I'd like to see us reunite the BH6
C) SANS UNDERTALE 😁

A) Go Go, for obvious reasons.
B) Stitch, because I like him and think he would be a useful Hero unit.
C) Bowser

Your answers don't have to be different between A-C. If there is literally only one person you would want to recruit, like Jeremy from DEI accounting, then that can be your answer for all three.

For me, I'd say Queen Celena for A, Queen Eclipsa for B, and I don't really have anyone for C that wouldn't be the same as A or B.

This isn't realy important or anything. Just thought it'd be a fun side-thing while we're waiting for the next bits.
A. Gogo, for reasons of duh.
B. Phantom Blot himself. Amazing Intrigue hero, with quite good Learning to boot, and he'd fit right into to our ouvere.
C. Sticking with Disney, Merlin, the one from Sword in the Stone. We need Occult, and, in the Disney multiverse, there's no one better then Merlin in magic. In fact....I'm now picturing him and Ludivine Heroballing to create basically the ultimate TechoMage.

A) yeah gogo ia good
B) donald duck. I want 3 musketeera bonus
C) uuuh. Homaru from madoki magica. Time travel back to before this tuuurn! XD

A) GoGo (none of the options we have really interest me and this one would please some people)
B) Eclipsa Butterfly
C) Bowser (so many options and this is the first one that pop into my head)

" A hated enemy gets L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. as a hero unit " was described as one of the outcomes we DIDN'T get, so it's probably not those two idiots.

EDIT: The Huntscan does sound QUITE possible...
The thing we did get could still be "a hated enemy gets information from Lovemuffin."

A. Gogo, because we're getting into Tron soon and she couldn't be more perfect for it
B. Star, for obvious reasons
C. Eda, because you can't go wrong with an endearingly criminal witch with a magic bird staff

Evelyn's whole thing in canon is cultivating a cape rights movement so she can sabotage it. Deliberately planning to betray anyone who supports the movement comes with the territory.

Well, that went reasonably well overall... though it obviously would have been best if we rolled better.

A) Probably GoGo

B) either Star Butterfly or A member of the SRMTHFG

C) Angela Ziegler/Mercy (health/genetic Learning hero) or Harry Dresden (with either Bob or Lash as a Heroball to further boost his Occult)
