SERIOUSLY???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As you struggle to control your limbs, lightning crashes and illuminates the monster.

You can see it, you can feel it. Black ink swirls around it but cannot hide its nature. Its red eyes swirl with incoherent malice, its fingers spin spiderwebs over the keys of the piano it so gleefully plays as a tune of cascading terror flows throughout the room. Its every movement is a cruel joke, its every giggle a new piece of black comedy. You don't know what it is. You can't understand what it is.

But you know it is a toon.

Lightning crashes as soon as the piano does, and six figures watch you from within its sparks.

As the curtain falls alongside the piano, you are treated to one final gag.

"...That's All. Folks."
Welp, that cat's outta the bag. Finally. Russ... is actually doing better than I pictured. At the very least, he isn't muttering incoherently and shivering with a haunted look in his eyes.
"Stop in da name a' da lawwwwwwww."
OH COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok in character we know Doom is super suspicious, we know that hawk was killed by a toon. Is that enough suspicion to stealthily test out Doom out and see if he is actually a toon, and possibly out him somewhere publically and impossible to hide to really drive the screws in? Or is that, cheating? Meta gaming or w/e.

They're from a defunct MMO Toontown Online, where they were killed if you could make them laugh
Oh man, Towntown Cogs is something I haven't thought about since 2005 when I played that game. So Doom making the Cogs as his army is something that actually fits him very well. The big question though, do this Cogs have the same weakness or did Doom got rid of it?

Could be worse. We could have sent Max, a toon who hates being funny, against robots that are killed by laughter.
Nah, Max hates being funny, but he is funny. It's Bonkers who's the real risk here, considering he's ruined a couple of punchlines so far.

As to the current conversation on wether or not Russ will realize it was Doom, remember that we also have the piano serial numbers to look up on ACME'S records, and the paper-trail might lead us to Doom anyways. But quick question, doesn't Doom employ some weasel toon minions?

Also, where the hell is Phantom Blot to help us bring all the pieces together?

Not sure if it was pointed out. But for Russ to accept Doom as a Toon. To accept Toons as Murderers if only as a possibility... He would need to consider the Toon Force.

Toons can do anything so long as it's funny.

But who determines what counts as funny?

The audience?

Who then counts as the audience? Does the performer not also count as the audience? Does the performer's opinion not matter?

My current headcanon for Doom is that he makes his personal kills in remote locations, with limited audience, exactly because he can then weigh in his cruelty and bring his twisted murderous sense of humour to fruition, in those circumstances.

He does, but they're all a poor fit for what Russ witnessed.

He saw a Toon with a dark and depraved sense of humor who has an exceptionally high and squeaky voice and extremely distinct and expressive eyes. Toons might be malleable but they remain on some level recognizable as the original Toon, all of Doom's weasels are two bit mafia caricatures with distinct accents and ways of speaking who also lack the aforementioned eyes, it just doesn't fit.

It may be defunct, but there are/were some fan projects trying to revive it in some capacity.

Actually toyed with the idea of joining in on the "Rewritten" server, but never got to it.

Toontown Online (Video Game) - TV Tropes

Disney's Toontown Online is pretty much what it says in the title: a town full of toons, online! It's an MMORPG featuring falling flower pots, cream pies, and corruption of humanity. You play as a colorful cartoon animal of your choice, living in …

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But yeah, looking at it in retrospect, Entering the Elevator was the only choice in-character for someone like Russ.

Now, let´s just hope that A) we can fight our way past the Cogs and Weasel to safety without our posse getting compromised in some fashion (both in terms of "getting hurt/killed" and "having their connection to Doof be aired, which would heat things up considerably between Doom and Doof" and B) Russ can work past his positive discrimination of Toons and actually piece things together all the way.

Pretty sure doofs purchase of acme is well known, and coyote, the person who runs it, is literally standing in the open.

If doom doesn't somehow figure that out my opinion of his competence
will drop considerably

Luckily both the Weasels and Cogs have the same weakness, laughter kills them. Let out guys do their thing and try and be funny and OH NO WE HAVE BONKERS BOBCAT WITH US AND WE NEED TO BE FUNNY...

Lets hope Mirage can do something to help cover for Russ in his current state...

Hey, maybe he'll end up like tobe, a joke character with insane unexplained luck

Well, I' guessing the vote was a balance of info gathered vs risking getting caught... what do you think our odds of disappearing this guy are?

I think tentative plans had Technor analyzing Doof, now that he's almost come to the realization that he likes OWCA & Monogram more than LOVEMUFFIN, but Doof's mental state is more of a long-term project and something much more important has come up in the short term.

So I think it's a lot more important for Technor to analyze Russ next turn.

And for Russ to do a personal of his own to unwind:
[ ] Spend time with the Toons

Mmm... I don't recall Mirage being much of a fighter (the opposite really - but that's against supers/super techies so), but she's certainly... *ahem* foxy enough to distract the Weasles, at least for a short time.
She's also, as a general pattern, diplomatic and intriguey enough to be able to field-improvise a reasonably cunning plan that has a chance of working in general. In a fight she's not exactly a powerhouse, but her brains and resourcefulness are still useful, especially when the team leader is out of commission.

I think that we may actually want to have Technor do some evil stuff in the near future, possibly with Juniper as a tagalong. He has been doing a lot of psychoanalysis and while that is one of the things he enjoys, I remember that at one point Hego also became frustrated with Doing Good Deeds.

Tbf Hego ... hasn't had the best luck with that, so I don't know if he sets the norm on that
