You can really tell that Tom has never gone Adventuring before. That, or he's terminally stupid, one of the two.

...Are we genuinely voting on what doppleganger to make at some point right now?

If so:

[x] Mr. Fred McFeely Rogers

So update. I decided to just start writing the update and hope it's a good update when we update. This has been your update update.

preview:

...Jeez, Tom really is *worse* at tempting fate than Max at the point.

Any chances that Russ can be convinced to hold an all-but-mandatory seminar on Narrative Conventions at DEI HQ in order to make our employees and associates more mindful of what they are doing/saying when in a narratively-charged enviroment (for example, around Toons and maybe when toying with magic, since that one seems to have narrative angle as well)?

Would help a lot AND be actually in-character for Doof to order that seminar.

I'm not at the moment. I think we've had our fun with the meme votes, but now we should stop it. The "vote" page below the post box is overflowing with individual options at this point and I am beginning to feel the voting is going past merely being funny to being actual spam.

You know if we just made a growth ray or something to make giant ants then Lizzy's power level would sky rocket......actually why don't we have a giant ant option?

Robot Doppelganger Star Butterfly.
I am going to push for Anime Teenage Robot Doppelganger Magical Girl so hard. It'll be the first time I've pushed for anything from this quest, ever.

I will tentatively back you under the assumption that you say this knowing Star is going to think having a robot duplicate is cool and not, like, dislike us for it.
So, We've had Dooftron, Star Botterfly, Elvis-Bot, and Mr. Robo-Rogers seriously considered.

Did we have any other Robo Dooflicates proposed?

Edit: Apparently I accidentally checked one of the vote boxes. whoops.

I would have said Jim Henson, but...

...like...

...so, the Muppets are real in this world, right? And Doc Hopper won, so they never got together. And Sesame Street used a lot of Muppets characters (and it's minorly implied that they got together around the time the Muppets did in universe).

So, like... Jim Henson, he died alone and unknown in this universe, right?

The only potential solace is, at this point, it would be funnier if they couldn't, in fact, get past this.

It depends on the surroundings as to whether it's funnier or not.

@Made in Heaven I didn't think about it much before but it has been bugging me for a while. Is Slugterra canon to this quest or is trying to somehow make it relevant to the surface too much trouble?
Slugterra was considered for Gridlocked and we did a trial run of including it, but it wasn't really geling with the rest of the setting. So no, it isn't in here.

From what I know about Star and assuming that the trauma hasn't altered her personality too much, I'd say that we have good odds that she would find the robot duplicate to be cool and then the two of them will have a bit where they show off the cool things each other can do.

Meanwhile Marco has a belated realization that there is now two of them.

No? Its explicitly underneath the Earth.
Not to quibble or anything, but it could just as well be underneath some other Earth, multiverse of infinite possibilities and all.

Still, if it's too much trouble to include (and just the tonal shift itself would be kind of awkward, not to mention the whole Pokémon knockoff thing going on), just say it's safely offscreen somewhere we'll never find it. Or it got wrecked by Toffee and everyone is dead, case closed.
