Well, one, Demona isn't entirely logical. She is a gargoyle supremacist and lives the adage 'when you are a hammer all the world looks like nails'.

Two, it wouldn't take much fuckery to keep gargoyles in stone form as long as you want. An army that can tear through steel doors while bare assed that you can keep in a box until needed would be goddamn amazing, even if you have to use hit and run tactics.

Kitsune has yet to reveal *herself*. Seriously what is she up to right now?

Actually annoys me quite a bit, since not only does Kitsune not show up at all make that part of the vote feel "invalidated", her being missing while the fighting is starting right now puts her at risk of being mis-identified as a hostile and shot by overeager gangers, which has the potential to mess up the good rapport DEI and XI got going on at the moment.

My dude, Calm yourself. Take a deep breath. Trust in the DM, who trusts in you.

Kitsune hasn't shown up yet because she didn't go to new york WITH Janna. She's in New York on her own business, making her "available" when this "flashback" arc comes to an end and Janna calls HQ for reinforcements.

Demona is the redhead.

The armored guy at the back (black skin, white hair, red eyes) is Thailog, a clone of Demona's former lover/mate Goliath. He is a Xanatos level intellect, less principled and one of the co-founders of Nightstone Unlimited along with Demona, whom he planned to betray more or less right after making her fall in love with him.



This would be Delilah, a clone hybrid of Demona and her most hated human rival Elisa Maza (NYPD officer, eventual love interest of Goliath), secretly created to replace Demona as Thailog's lover.

Demona took the news that she was meant for replacement extremely poorly in canon, even by her less than perfectly balanced standards.

Trusting in me is a very foolhardy idea, pal.

I just don´t wanna jepardize the good relations between DEI and XI by having one of our operatives shot in the leg by some startled mafioso because Xanatos´forces had no way of knowing that the humanoid, multi-tailed fox spirit could be considered "allied" for the time being.

Yep, *David* Xanatos being one enemy of the Hero "Goliath" is a nod to that bible story.

Additionally, Xanatos has a bit of a Greek mythology theme going on, since his character is based on Odysseus, his last name is based on Thanatos, the God/Personification of *Death* (not *the Dead* - that´s Hades´ job) and he named his son "Alexander" after Alexander the Great.

BTW, "Alexander" also translates to *Defender of Man(kind)*, while "David" roughly means "Beloved (of God)"...so yeah, even discounting Puck, the Xanatos household is rather mythologically charged name-wise

So it's basically guaranteed he'll be allied with Artemis then since he's named after the Greek Goddess of the Hunt.

"Cool, I'll tell Xanay they're on our side."

Seriously, if we had sent anyone but Tom and Lizzy, all three heroes would be showing up during the battle. I really doubt that we're going to be penalized like that for sending reinforcements when the vote was for who to send as reinforcements. That would be ridiculous.

Also for all we know as an intrigue hero maybe Kitsune has been very busy. Definetly somewhat annoyed when all the other intrigue heros eliminated themselves from going to Puck's ground, and that she was the only one left. But Good Martial, Intrigue and Occult is exactly what was needed in New York.


Mirage is a non combatant. Russ has the Phantom Blot incoming. Monogram has his own problems moving OWCA from emergency responder to an effective police force (and though he doesn't know it Kat.)

    Major retail didn't know what was happening, or why. Mostly, he didn't care about why. He was hiding out in the Bronx after his last major battle when he was approached by a middleman offering him $7,000 to 'Patrol' the area around a warehouse and shoot anyone attacking it. It was good money. Almost enough to buy a single tank of gas in this godforsaken city. Well... gas prices weren't quite that bad, yet.

    He'd been on the fence about it, even though he'd taken the money, until the first flying beast crashed into a corner Bodega and destroyed the counter. Major retail's tragic backstory flashed in front of his eyes. The way his store had been destroyed by those fiends! The disrespect! Day after day working his thankless job only to get robbed, and disrespected, and his store ruined!

    He started firing.

    He wasn't sure he'd ever stop.

    The End.
