Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Aw man, this sucks. I don't know about recovery, but at least the WOG can be found in other places; sure will be annoying to recollect though.

On my own part: Literally earlier today I was scrolling through the Celestial Grimoire channel looking for story links, but decided to put it off and do other stuff.

Well.

Hopefully that little sub-niche of this niche community manages to repopulate itself…

What the hell do random Turks have against the BCF discord? Wouldn't not deleting things be an easier way to sucker people into clicking links, or wouldn't deleting everything be the easiest way to destroy a random community you hacked?

Did they figure out what people cared about the most and only deleted those bits or something, to be annoying?
WOG stands for word of God. That is why they deleted it.

I felt that last line like a goddamn sledge hammer. Everyone there knows he did not like March from the beginning. It also cuts through everything straight to the point.

It also reveals that he does indeed have information gathering tech/abilities. To be honest it is most likely March either proposed she would help the Butcher like she did L33T to keep her alive as I believe the current Butcher is afraid of dying and becoming one of the voices in the next Butcher's head or she proposed that she could get someone else fix the issue and considering one of the most prevalent rumours is that Aperion tinkers with the source of powers directly Butcher might think he could make it that her voice even if she dies is the once to take control of the new Butcher's body or something.

I wonder, Is tetra's infrared coms tight beam? and/or is her lighting up in a pattern based upon the contents of message? because there's a lot of thinkers who might theoretically decode her speech if they notice.

Will first they would need to figure that out first, so it is possible, then they would have to figure out the code she uses with survey.

Possible but not likely

NOOOO!!!!! *Active breathing to calm down* Okay, there's a chance. Take solace in that. Maybe Joe will be able to fix them and then MP can become a member of Team Forge! Yeah, I'm good with that ending. Oh please Lord don't fail me now!
The good news is that Apeiron would probably fix her if he encountered her in the field. The bad news is that considering his temperament there will be no seeking them out to help them. So unless Slaughterhouse comes to Apeiron's city/turf there won't be any possibility for that encounter.

Can confirm that the Reality Constellation perks have been selected and added to the list of possible perks. So damn excited!! And yes, I know I've become a broken record about this, but I am so ready for the Key Link perks, so that he can close the door to his lab while he's in it and then open the door to any door he has used for access in the past, and for the Portal perks, because Cauldron shouldn't be the only ones to have that sweet, sweet portal power! For those interested, the link below is to the list of available perks:

EDIT: I think this link is the official one, but if not then apologies all around.
Sorry to burst your and probably a few other people's bubbles but I'm not LordR. The personal reality clustering in the sheet is a guess. I expect it has some similarity but a lot of differences. I've held off on asking Lord to clarify until it's actually added. So my latest comment on Ao3 asks for that clarity.
I expect Lord will require too level perks be obtained first. I also expect 50 cp perks will be grouped somehow.

Everything I've written up is subject to change based on Lord's answers.

Completely unrelated. Sorry, this is kind of a weird question but why does Vista hate Apeiron again? Details can get a little lost during a bingeread of a fic this large so if anyone could remind me I would be really grateful

She hates Aperion cause she feels that he is the reason why her world is falling apart.

Because of his knives, kidding lost equipment, she was knocked unconscious and feels that she was made a fool of, Amies arm was fractal, and then Aegislash.

Then Joe heals Amy, getting locked in master stranger tank.

And Because of how the bank went the youth gard are now messing with how she Handles her home situation.

Also the fact that Joe states the he becomes so much stronger in 3 days, when she has also worked so hard for 3 years.

also she is 12, and has been treated as a Frontline cape since she was 9

I would normally quote a word of god but the discord is down now.

Also, according to her interlude she states that Apeiron's strong showing against the ABB makes the PRT where she worked and bled for look ineffectual (not her fault that they were that bad) they were but to be fair everyone except Apeiron was seemingly unable to fight as seen during the Somer rock discussions/posturing where the best everyone else did was a fighting withdrawal.

Since Personal Reality now in the game and Joe can possibly roll Portal (300 cp I think?) phrase to activate it ABSOLUTELY MUST BE EITHER "Door to Workshop" or, better, "Path to Workshop". Solely to fuck with Cauldron

I predict an absolutely epic tier meltdown from Piggot once she learns what has happened at the summit. She has been headed towards a hard break ever since she tried to steamroll Apeiron into compliance with the PRT with the hope of bringing him to heel. Apeiron himself has noted that the PRT in Brockton Bay has deliberately tried to make it as hard as possible for him to speak with the authorities, unless it is in a position of subservience. The fact that Piggot miscalculated so badly and turned a Triumvirate level cape into someone who distrusts the PRT is a cathartic piece of schadenfreude.

And when this becomes public, the chaos and the outcry it will cause will be earth-shattering. I just hope no one makes a video of the conference and posts it on PHO. That is like pouring oil on fire.

Also, even as a joke, would it be ironic if Piggot herself triggers from the stress of the meltdown?

Well, Lung's shard is looking for a new home..

I hope that's a joke, what is the protocol for shards once their first host has died? Are they free to pick any new host, or are there restrictions? It's been a while since I have read actual Worm, and don't remember all those rules...

I don't really know, my guess is that in a NORMAL Cycle(one where the Thinker is not died), is that most shards choose a new host, and the thinker has specific powerful/important shards host be chosen by her.

Though I think the Warriors shards are given free range to choose who they want.

The cycle is suppose to last centuries. As such shards do have instructions to synch up with a new host using a different variation of their powers after critical host failure. Earth Bet is speedrunning the cycle, but if Lung's shard does rehost it still won't be for a long while.

Tybalt spoke, his eyes burning green spirals. Roughly translated, what he said was "DEATH IS NO BAR TO MY CALL. ATTEND ME, SHADES OF THE FALLEN."

But like, even if he's speaking Greek it would definitely be something like (Google translate) O THANYATOS DEN EINYAI APURRIMOS STIN KLISI MEOUW. PURRAKOLOUTHISTE MEW, APOKRISEIS TON PESTON.

Edit to avoid double post:

Vista believes in the Wards program. She thinks if you're a good person, you join the Protectorate when you trigger. The fact that Joe supplied weapons to kids performing a bank robbery as his first act in Brockton Bay really solidified him as a villain in her eyes. Unlike a lot of the other hero interludes where they're willing to reconsider things later with more information, Vista is very stubbornly (childishly) clinging to that first impression.
Also as mentioned above it gives her a convenient target when Joe's actions rock the boat in other parts of her life (like someone mentioned the Youth Guard)

I actually had a whole rant written out into response to this, but stepped away and condensed it for ease of reading.

People love Piggot bashing, but in reality very little of Joe's situation is her fault directly. Joe is just being bitten hard by what are likely existing PRT procedures regarding human master influence, his own unwillingness to speak with local authorities, and the side-effects of March and the ABB throwing the entire damn city into chaos at the same time. At no point has Piggot attempted to force compliance or made threats to him - she is merely following procedure to a potential human master and apparently walking disaster area - something she is likely following even more closer due to his accusation of insanity. I'm not even fully sure at this point if the PRT has listed him officially as a villain or merely as a person of interest.

Attempting to force compliance would imply that she has tried to find and speak with him, which she has not. The only time, arguably, we can make a claim to this is after the Uber and Leet fight when he's confronted by part of New Wave and we hear some com-chatter. Which at that point, is completely reasonable considering he had just used an high yield energy tinktech weapon to wipe out a swarm of missiles within the city, not to mention all the other damage he was causing.

Numerous characters in interludes/appendums/prologues/whatever have pointed out that the vast majority of Apeiron's issues would be non-issues if he actually took the time to talk to the PRT. It's his refusal to do so, solely on a Thinker power he himself has noted is not fully reliable, that makes things so difficult. And the longer he waits, the more difficult it is going to be, due to crazy ass powers showing up out of nowhere like the 'Enigmatic Artificer' thing.

There are things we can genuinely bash Piggot and the PRT over. I, personally anyway, don't feel as if her response to Apeiron is one of them, given what she knows and what she has seen. We see it as unreasonable, because we are readers outside the situation and with outside context/information the PRT would have no way of conceivably knowing unless Piggot triggered with the power to see through the 4th wall.

I'm genuinely hoping Joe grows up a bit and reaches out the PRT with the Teeth having returned to the bay, post summit. That's not the kind of thing he should keep from them, even if he IS paranoid about Piggot. The situation in the city is unstable enough as it is, and Joe's rapidly reaching the point that he's going to need to come to some sort of understanding/agreement with the local branch if he's actually going to do some of the things he wants to do (clean up the dark zone, finishing removing all the bombs from the ABB-conscripts, anything else he wants to do that he hasn't really though too much about yet.)

The fact that this is the 'condensed' version of the rant should probably say something :D

Honestly, I just want whatever threats Tybalt ever says to just sound like...

Yes, thank you! I've long since given up repeating essentially this exact point over and over again, but it's as true now as it was hundreds of pages ago.

One issue I see with this is that, at this point, Piggot, doesn't really want an agreement with Joe. Sure, he might inform them of the Teeth's new arrival in BB, he probably will, truth be told, if only so the PRT/Protectorate doesn't look any more incompetent. As for coming to an agreement with the PRT, that could be a bit more difficult. Especially now, with Joe's Revival Perk, meaning he will no longer act as a Doormat, I don't see him making an agreement with the PRT ENE unless the agreement is on his terms. And I don't really see the PRT agreeing to something that is set on his terms if only to maintain an air of strength.

Joe does want to help, so I can see him conceding something if only so he can get to work with helping, but I don't see him taking any bone the PRT throws him just to start repairing the city.
