I live.
I live.
If we get taken over by another religion, it def won't be Monotheism, especially in the current climate.
They are a group that resists foreign influences, and are currently seen as weirdos, but not in a bad way.
There are a very distinct minority, and if anything our current religion doesn't involve Purity or anything close to it.
Damaging Purity, or at least attempting to, shouldn't have dented our religion at all.
Unless the Khem came out of nowhere with missionaries and we now worship the God King or something, we should be fine on that front.
We can be taken over by other religions.
It won't be in one turn when it happens.
Where?
We actually had a chance for a religious tolerance trait, not an indication of our religion not being robust.
Some people will convert easily, true.
But to convert the majority, let alone everyone, in a culture where priests thrive on discussion and different points of view - well, not easy, at all, and certainly not possible in one turn.
The Ymaryn's culture of endless discussion and debates will make it difficult for any religion to remain unchanged. An unflexible religion will fail to convince the majority.
It does mean that the results can be unpredictable, however.
I suspect as we accumulate more and more theological advancements and more solid foundation, it will get harder and harder for outside religions to infiltrate the Ymaryn, and more like the opposite will happen.
The earliest Organized Religions are kind of vulnerable to that, by design. The fact that you took a very laissez-faire attitude and it developed Syncretism means that it's pretty much going to serve as a way for other groups to nucleate their own regional religions using the theological developments of the People as fuel.
Zoroastrianism has had influences on the Abrahamic faiths for a variety of reasons across multiple millennia, so yes, something will survive.
Unless we take much, much, much more effort to preserve it as is: shitton of temples, libraries and academies to the point more stats-optimizing folks start considering xenophobic closed-minded monotheism better alternative because it's more efficient.
not for long, apparently

Right, that should be the link to PoC discord. If you feel the need to vent your salt, better do it there, so thread stays unlocked.

This should be the link to the PoC Discord, btw, for anyone who wants to join.
It will be nice for people to not clutter up the thread with salt or just casual chatting, and instead move it here when the update drops.
Not gonna lie, as long as the forests survive I'm good.Welp, I guess things will be on fire pretty soon.
But fear not! Ymaryn's forests are very well-known for being fire-retardant!
I feel genuinely excited to have a chance to discuss an important issue.
On the other hand, I feel vague terror on this significant crisis we'll be facing.
I should feel sorry for the mod who's going to manage this eruption of molten rage and controversy, but at the same time it's exciting on it's own.
I can't wait.![]()
My guess is that we falled to get the Patricians and Priests on board with the purge and they got a puritan elected heir.
Just remember everyone: don't advocate evil stuff in narrative terms and avoid personal attacks and relating things to modern RL stuff.

That would be really out of nowhere.
We don't have anywhere near max martial, and Redshore has 0/5 trouble.
By taking open-minded approach we essentially doomed our religion to the fate of "feed next generation with finest debating techniques and then die to less tolerant and open-minded ones".
