Relevant question. What do people think the great library does?
I'm hoping for a mysticism split, or possibly a new subset. When combined with Academy, makes the new "academic" or something stat?

Also, a bunch of generic stuff, like mysticism drip/refund, better study rolls, and higher level libraries? Do we already have those?

It works like the Library of Alexandria, I presume.

Basically works like a national index for all the libraries of the Ymaryn. Which means that it will try to collect every single book, or failing that, there will be an index of all the books contained within the Ymaryn library systems, and where you can request one. There will probably be a unique law in Sacred Forest that mandate the copying of all books and scrolls as a tax for entering the city, with the book to be returned once it is done.

It might also function as a university, where scholars come to gather and study. Although to be honest, that function would probably best belong to the temple.

I'm pretty sure it's just a giant archive, mostly notable for creating the standard by which other libraries would be modeled after and demonstrating the benefits for having put the effort in.

Given our low literacy rates, the benefits mostly come in the form of better governance; "has this problem come up before, and what was the solution then." (Our governors being of the set of people who'd actually be literate.)

... I'd actually be up for putting in another Library annex, and hope that'd give some spread to the Governor's Palaces.

Perhaps it will give us early access to an education stat. I think what people need to ask is 'What would a library so big it would stop anyone else from making one look like?'

Because remember, wonders are that nonsensical in scale (and we think this is a wonder).

"A Library so big people would come to ours over making their own."

Which pretty much means we'd have to be going out to other people and copying down their stories and records to build it - or convincing people to bring their stories and records to us, somehow, though I'd expect a lot of chaff if we tried that.

Can anybody explains our diplomacy income? We are getting six diplomacy.

King of The Hill - 1
The Games (Harmurri, Freehills, and Storm Ymaryn) - 3
Grand Palace - 1

I counted five. I can't account for one diplomacy.
I think someone else answered, but Amber Road is a Mature Trade Post now, and gives +1 dip/turn

Sigh, the gains from a trade mission are a turn long deal to get fully, so it rather stands to reason that we will not get them until midturn next turn. Anyways, I noticed something so I'm going to check over Abby's math.

Simple enough. Will have to make sure the overflow from culture is correct, but this checks out as true.

Even simpler. This holds true.

Right, first off, is the Palace Annex cost retroactive? Because we most certainly did not choose to build a palace annex last turn. If so are we only getting charged for one of the palace annexes that we got? Because we got two of them.

Your subtotal is also wrong, it should be 28. That said, you did map out the overflow correctly.

I never did get how refugees currently works, but I'm assuming we're going to be getting some econ next turn from them?

The question of the Palace Annex comes again. The second thing should be Refugees In, not out.

This appears to be in order.

Assuming no overflow errors, this appears to be in order.

Same question as with Econ about the Palace Annex.

Seems in order. Will make sure the overflow is correct.

And this also seems correct, which means the overflows should all be correct.

Let's double check Abby's original post to see if I can make sense of the Great Hall Annex situation.

Lol, this has ironically screwed us out of 4 stat points that would have overflown into wealth. Whether it was worth the action economy freed up or not is up for others to decide, but it certainly threw several plans for a loop.

Anyways, I'm fairly certain we're only getting 7 Wealth for the next turn.

Also, you need to fix the typo for the subtotal under Econ @Abby Normal

Edit: Oh, and a typo for refugees on the EE section too.
Ahh, thanks; when i did the math for AN originally i hadn't remembered the outward refugees, so those typos are from doing some quick edits before posting :p And yeah, the annex was a two for one deal, which i'd say is worth 4 wealth, at least personally, since its a 3 secondary action swing (2 actions we dont have to take for the annexes, and grand hall x5 gives +1 sec action)

And now I find myself looking through stuff to see if there are any random mistakes.

Needs to be updated to 15/17.
Do remember that the EP tracker is mostly my thing, not AN's; he updated the city list, and will do things like update the IC values after integration, but for the most part things wont be updated until i do an A&D post :p

Eh.
I'd say that I am fine with all city Econ consumption being balanced by CSs + vassal food. Which means that 5 FCs (aka -5 Econ and -1 on top by lvl2 Redshore) are counterbalanced by Vassal food; Redshore will be balanced once Dam+Canal make transporting food from Thunder Horse viable, I think. One more CS supports two more lvl1 TCs.

So, with 7 total 1 CS, 5 of which are (going to be) FCs, is fine, I agree. If we get 8th city I am pushing for second City Support. It's not like we won't find use for extra Econ.
We actually already get food tax from the Thunder Horse, they started this turn iirc, presumably from the border hills province. That's why we're at +5 taxes; 3 colonies, 2 vassals.

Relevant question. What do people think the great library does?
Since we're pretty sure its a wonder version of the library, and given it was unlocked parallel the academy, and the current discussion on the academy EP, i could see it doubling the library bonuses, so that each library gives a refund on its own. That would make building academies easier.

Note that the grand hall x5 now suggests that its a matter of gov palaces getting the benefits of half the annex count, since we got the +1 prestige at either GH 4 or GH 5, where the original +1 prestige for the capital palace was at GH 2. So we'd likely need 4 library annexes to get national library slots out of the GPs. Annex number 3 seems likely to give a stat boost, judging from arsenal (+1 tech) and grand hall (+1 diplo), so library 3 might give another mysticism drip?

People all over Ymaryn, and even Storm Ymaryn makes their pilgrimage to Sacred Forest, and sometime even foreigners make the trip. Then there's the International Games, in which the Harmurri and the Forhuch will have to go past Sacred Forest.

Really, about the most annoying thing is that the prophet of our religion was born in Boundary Hill rather than Sacred Forest, which means not all our pilgrimage traffic will get funneled through our core.

Due to our trait Pride in Acceptance, I am hoping people actually do bring their stories and records to ours so that our Great Library isn't just a Ymaryn library but a regional library.

So we have 6 secondaries next turn. That's a lot. Here's what I'd like to do:

{M} Expand Econ
{S} Change Policy - Megaproject Support
{S} Found March - Spirit Channel
{S} Palace Annex - Grand Hall
{S} Found Free City - Blackmouth
{S} Found Free City - Stallion Pen
{S} Proclaim Glory
{G} More Warships
{G} Increase Cement Production
{G-s} Efficient Charcoal Kilns
Along with passives Infrastructure x2, Defence x1, Skullduggery x1

Unfortunately, we don't have enough Wealth to do this. I am unsure what we should drop to prevent ourselves from hitting negative wealth temporarily- I'm thinking swap the Warships with a Support Faction - Traders maybe? Not sure how to fit that in. Getting the concrete immediately seems very useful, and that plus warships is already too much.

(Just saying, this wouldn't be a problem if we had +10 wealth...)

Getting those free cities immediately gives us more passives (FC adaptable ones) and finishes the urban poor quest to lock in Division of Power.

Okay everybody, also going to admit something here: part of the reason that I didn't update last night was that I knew that even if I got it done by 10:30 PM my time I wouldn't be able to actually supervise the thread. Because a very thorny issue has evolved from decisions already made. Since it seems that when I warn you about things the explosions aren't as bad, I'm giving you all an early heads up that there is a serious choice coming up, and also waiting for @ManusDomine to actually be online.

So, behave yourselves now with this revelation, and especially behave yourselves with the update. And looking at the actions... yeah, it will be a mini-update to keep action bloat from taking over. System reform is definitely badly needed at this point.

Well, either the purge went wrong or our trade mission was murdered. Or something very strange happened, but one of those seems most likely. I'm guessing the purge, but we'll have to see.

Not only that but we will be able to grab a new linked value. What do you guys think we should grab? I would say something from the Harmuri, we are friendly with them just like with Freehills and some value affinity will only help keep us that way.

Well...that's not ominous...

Ah well precautions will be taken and with any luck you saying this instead of just dropping it will prevent too much chaos :D

Hey, if purge or trade mission or their synergy went wrong, I could be a smug asshole (and eat infractions), since I voted against both of them. But I think things went as intended, it's just something thorny was unearthed by them.

So, evil synergy.

The news of our Purge reached the Highlanders, and their crusade decide to come help.

It's more likely that the acting against the puritans pissed off the priests(as the king technically isn't in charge of them)
and the monotheists also decided to rebel.(multiple religions is a pain)
Now we need to see whether the ymarin will automatically purge the monotheists, or end up with us having to start a civil war to take a less destructive option.(while the Highlanders are waiting to invade)
