[X] Yes (Forfeits the CB against the Highlanders, declares war against the Thunder Horse, brings Yenyna out of retirement, ???)

This is a gamble, this is the achievement of my aspirations or thier burning to ash.

Here's my gamble:
We wage war on the east, we prolong that war as much as we can, the Highlanders would have no choice but to attack us.
Allowing us to finally turn and eliminate them.
Thus the gods of peace and war are appeased. And all rejoice for a prophecy fulfilled and an enemy slain.

There is also the possibility of nabbing the former thunder speakers from the Thunder Horse, at the very least as a consolation prize in the worst case scenario.

Well, In Service to Order just made the Ymaryn a shitload more brittle. Somewhat stronger, sure, but a lot more brittle.

"Corrupting" - you make it sound like this is just an outside activity happening on the poor priests. The point is - just as people can go against their secular ethical education, or find self-serving justifications why this or that action may be 'good' after all, or develop a "it's bad, but hey everyone does it" self-justification - the same is true for people with religious moral upbringing. History has shown us time and time again that priests can very easily simply ignore and justify away core moral tenets of their belief. So in this, priests are no different than secularly educated people.
So we should reduce the power of our main basis of morality because corruption might occur eventually in your opinion.

Your argument hinges on the idea that the Priests are just as bad as everyone else on certain matters when we only have examples to the contrary.

Until we have Priests actively saying slavery, raping and such are okay I will defend the religion we've worked so hard to make

The moment it looks like we're distracted by the Thunder Horse, the HK will declare war on us. We'll get our defensive bonuses and white peace the TH, then beat the HK until they give up.

Also, rule of threes. We give the HK one last chance. Then when they turn on us our retribution will be that much more just.

Pretty much on the same wavelength my good lamb.

The first one in a turn, yes.

1) Yes
2) Ehhhhhhh... sort of? Thus far the predictions have come true, but it has only been a few years

Therefore, LoW says that if prediction doesn't come true, the astrologers will work harder to figure out why that isn't, and hopefully unlock the next level of advancement for LoW even if we don't necessary evolve it?

Well, yes, they're people!

Any system that relies on people just being "virtuous", especially if it particular people or particular groups of people, is an imminently fallible system.

[X] No
Pros: First stability hit a turn is negated
Hnnnggg ohhh yess baby

Excuse me.
Hypocrisy much? You accuse others of arguing against the standing of religion here because they're atheists IRL but all out admit you argue for the standing of religion here because you're religious IRL. That's kinda a double standard, you know.

And no, IRL, religion has been a pox.
I am an Atheist IRL. I believe (especially in modern times) blind faith impedes progress and causes harm.

That doesn't change the fact you're being a dick with unprovoked ad-hominem attacks.

Look at it this way, if we pick No we get to annex the HK. If we turn out to be wrong, we can suffer the consequences, but at least we will know that the Astrology has some truth to it. If we pick yes then we won't have any way of knowing the truth.

I think it's important that we break the DB, that we prevent an empire that hates us from forming, that we use an intervention CB to not lose Prestige, and that we test this out to finally confirm once and for all whether or not magic is real.

In Service to Order (PiA Linked)
Order and stability are paramount, and any king who cannot maintain that needs to be replaced in short order.
Pros: First stability hit a turn is negated
Cons: At negative stability, lose 1 Legitimacy a phase

So this seems incredibly strong. Since it works on megaproject kicks, it's the next best thing to a Stab drip for the People. Gonna be paramount that we keep our Stab high from now on though.

Not sure about the vote yet. While this is still prophecy and potentially the ravings of a mad person, they're at least informed ravings.
