Did we critfail?
We had a Genius General defeated by a Heroic Martial when we had equal number and better equipment.

This must have been a critfail

It seems we are about equal in Martial in the field, right now - and we have the superior leader.

@Academia Nut , am I correct in this? Both sides having similal martial-scores and with us having the better general because of the Genius?
... She is alive, right?

[X] The war will continue (War continues, have mid-turn actions before next War Mission rolls to potentially regenerate forces)

yeah no. They don´t get to make demands.
The best they will get from me is a White Peace.

Did this loss mean we also lost 2 Stability? We are still on -1.

On the other hand, we finally have an opportunity to Integrate the Stallions next turn.

She was the pale young woman the Prince saw at the peace talks.

From what I can gather, the Prince and Yeyena 1 v 1 each other and both got some good hits in. I can only assume they rolled way better than us, because our excellent and genius martial generals were negated by their heroic general.

No peace for pompous invader scum.

Since when did we grow proud?

[X] Acknowledge superiority (-15 Prestige, loses King of the Hill, peace, chance of +1 Stability)

Yeah sure sure. Master of all. We acknowledge it. We'll even hold some elaborate ritual to do so. Now bugger of.

I mean, it's not like we ever use prestige for anything. So this is basically a free end to the war for us, and we can concentrate on the bloody backstabbing HKers.

Check the post
It was twilight by the time a delegation from each side was able to meet in the carrion eater choked neutral ground between them. Torches held by both sides gave illumination in the twilight, although the shadows were somewhat welcomed to hide the extent of injuries and exhaustion. Translators from both sides were the closest together, while those with the actual power to determine the course of things were surrounded by what was left of their guard detail. Reshem saw no sign of the demon, although he was somewhat intrigued by the presence of a ghostly pale woman among the group of nobles.
Signs point to yes.

We are Three Martial right now. Yes, our Midpoint choice will allow us to regenerate our forces, I just wished to ensure that this is taken seriously and thought about carefully.

We would NEED to regenerate as much martial as possible at the mid turn. It's crashed.

The good news is every single factor is now in our favor. We can win this war.
  • Iron is easier to replace than bronze.
  • Genius beats heroic
  • We have reserves means we can raise our martial more quickly than they can
    • ESPECIALLY with a baby boom rolling
  • Our new legacy means they have a stability drain every turn.
    • Remember that their RA replacing stability only works while RA is above a certain threshold; stability drains trigger cascade failure for them.
On the other hand, tribute:
  • We can trivially afford it. Guild Mercantile leads to truly absurd wealth drip.
  • We get to squeeze our local slavers out of most of their income. After blowing up their LOYAL mercenaries.
  • We get control of the Black Sea.
  • We get 5+ MAIN ACTIONS to spend on building up instead of war
  • We get a Khemetri trading post.
    • Remember, the King of the hill is to force civilizations who are BETTER OFF trading with each other into war. We can DODGE that while staying King.
  • We get to deal with the little lowland traitors undistracted
  • Our Martial is low, so we won't have issues during peace time.
  • In RL, the earliest treaty we have recovered is a peace treaty between Egypt and the Hittites at the end of the bronze age. That's US. That's NOW. HISTORY!!!
So even though we CAN win, it's simply not worth it at all. It's giving the Trelli what they want

is this option basically to let us both keep KotH and convince the Khemetri that we submitted to them?

Yes.

Gulvalley is still endangered?

Yes.

The Khem rolled better than you, but we had the unique situation of a Hero and a Genius both rolling Natural 100s on the same turn. It was complete insanity.

You still have your genius general, although the Khemetri probably still have more Martial left than you at this point. You will both get your mid-turns to scrape up reinforcements though.

If we offer tribute, do the Khemetri lose their king of the hill status?

Yes. Reshem will probably kill his dad and clean out the court in a quick coup in that case, but he will have the resources to bribe everyone into accepting it.

There will be no defeat. That they demand tribute is a mad affront.

We have already cut deadly swaths through the opportunists and vultures. Now it's their turn.
