Ah. They would be wrapped into the Metallic Saga, an epic about how the People mastered copper and iron.
Iron would be a curious one, considering how it happened. The tales are likely to be politically corrected.

I wonder how much of those tales have someone clever, tricked by someone else, then turning the trick back by looking at things from another perspective.

...or Magwyna and her 40 wives.

@AN can we get a anti slavery legacy like
Rage Against the Steppes - Always have a casus belliwith Subdue Tribe or Humiliate War Goal against steppe nomads ?

eh I think we're too honest to get rid of the part about how he died in the night as a result of stealing the MW's sacred goods. It's a good moral lesson.
Naw, remember, back then nobody officially took credit for it.

I expect it'd be "And then he turned out to be Crow in disguise, having had his fun and taught the People wisdom" or something like that.

Rather unlikely unless Slavers attacked us, succeeded significantly, and then we razed their entire civilization in measured retaliation I think. We do think slavery is wrong, but based on the last word of AN that I recall on the matter, slavery pollutes the slaver's spirit, so from our perspective it's rather like eating shit.

You'd get sick, and it's gross, but if someone else does it, they're just going to get karma eventually.

I've just had a thought...

@Academia Nut

If we do get into a war with the Trelli couldn't we short-circuit ship development by studying captured Trelli ships. After all there is historical precedent for that. The Romans reportedly copied a shipwrecked Carthaginian ship to get their first proper navy during the Punic wars.

It would have to be a special study action of some sort.

Actually, what do our espionage options look like?

Maybe we can copy the American way of doing things and try to institute a regime change. The more unstable Trelli is before the invasion/takeover the easier it will be for us.

The Wise King Magwyna, who was nearly fooled by the cunning highlander's attempt to gain ties to the people, who looked at the practice of heredity and decided to twist them to her advantage.

Offensively would be screwed, defensively... it would be hard, but probably doable.

@veekie , with above in mind do you still think it is advisable to stick our dick in yet another grinder? We already have it in Lowlands, which, with the Climate Change over with, are going to start another round of cosplaying Warhammer ("In the grim darkness of Lowlands, THERE IS ONLY WAR and mad laughter of thirsting gods") and in steppes with horse-riding nomads.
Ymaryn dick is strong, but I do not think it is strong enough for three meatgrinders on fire.

This "Do nothing here" is a proxy for "Support Lowlands to begin proper assimilation" or Proclaim Glory to finish the Palace while in the Golden Age, or...point is, waging war on Trelli is going to tie up a lot of our actions, because they are neither weak nor stupid and we are already spread way too thin.
