What if we farm them for economic, tech and traits as we are spec as a civil for that.

Send omega trade / explore missions.
Use that to set up some destabilizing pressure and ride them into collapse.

Then come in to save the day and absorb there territory with minimal risky fighting.

Ah it always comes down to math doesn't it. Once tis was narrative that ruled the earth. With grace and awe did it reign; its mischievous nature shown in its twists and cliffs, the purity of its soul shining through the poems of love and lament.

And yet it was not to last. For the algebra disdained the narrative, and plotted its demise. And on one fell day it sent two assassins most decrepit and foul : Addition and Subtraction.

As the distracted narrative contemplated proud speeches and glorious last stands, the assassins hand struck with the strength of mathematics.

The narrative with all its flair and elegance, was torn asunder and reduced to its Base numerals.

And so ended the tale of narrative, and the era of calculations was begun.

In short, aw fuck it, I studied law not math! I can't calculate for shit. Still, I believe the north would work better, as it's less likely to engender a war at this inopportune time. Also we may luck out on the rolls.

Wait.
What kind of math do the Ymaryn have access to?

[Exp] Found Trelli Trade Post, East
[Diplo] Need a bigger boat (Main More Boats)
[Int] Build palace (Extra megaproject action)

"hard, but doable". I don't really like our chances.

@Academia Nut Will we get to establish a TP near the tin tribe if we chose the eastern trading post?

As in, investing in the North right now would bar us from doing pretty much anything else in the next 3 turns while we provide them life support. Which is to say it's MORE likely to trigger a war of some sort for lack of ability to respond.

And they have a non zero chance of collapsing before we can take actions when the Main turn rolls in and the climate damage is applied. Depending on how it works for provinces, being driven to Econ -1 in the first turn of existence may become a Stability hit to them, or just dissolves them outright.
Wait.

Basic accounting mostly, I think.
We nearly got basic algebra if we had beaten the first Tax Crisis on hardmode though!

@Academia Nut now that the Climate Change has ended could you give us a tally of what each of the surrounding states took in terms of Econ/Econ Expansion/Stability damage over the course of the crisis?
@Academia Nut just to make sure you didn't miss this, of course if the answer is too spoilery then sorry for bringing it up again.
The Western Trade post is not however, in their waters, so they'd notice it...once the Trade Post lays down the settlement and opens up for business. At the least that means a settlement + docks + the Red Banner. Given the risks of the region, it is plausible, but not a given for them to build basic walls before docks.
Given how extensive their contacts with the Tin Tribes are isn't this a bit too optimistic to think they won't get any hint before we're open for business?

A better question would be, what do passes for literary skill and peominance amongst the Ymaryn? , or are they too lacking in high culture for the emergence of poetic structures and non administrative writing?

You have your own versions of Homeric epics at this point, but most "literature" remains oral tradition.

Unknown to the People.

Will corruption increase if stability both falls and rises in the same turn? My apologies if this has already been addressed.

Depends, but entirely possible.

Consider that this is the first time we've actually heard of there being 'native' bandit villages along the formerly Hathatyn coast doing small time raids? Consider that this is the first word we'd heard of the Trelli, a major trade partner, adopting currency and mercenaries in one go, followed by immediately hiring them out to the Saffron Islands....and we only learned all that when we asked why the Saffron trade had dropped. We didn't even know when the Metalworkers were invaded and their leadership replaced until we sent a trade mission specifically to them.

Not to the point of action. Bronze age information networks are slow as balls, and Trelli take the approach of "you come to me, I don't go to you". This was the information trap of the Spirit Talkers, they assumed any news worth hearing would come to them.
They'd be getting rumors, but I don't expect solid news until the Trade Post starts business and they start asking questions like "hey, where did all the Tin traders go?" followed shortly by "Why to the Ymaryn have so much Tin?"

Addressed before. Circumstantial, since it depends on the cause of the fall, where we were at the lowest point and how the Stability climbed back.

Also corruption isn't linear so a lot of it is really just institutional practice in lack of more advanced social structures to ensure fairness

Two epics I am guessing:

  • The Northern Wars with the Nomads, specially the time just before the introduction of widespread iron.
  • The Iron Saga, possible sequel to the northern wars.

Crow's Daughter Bridles Thunder Horse: Gwygotha brings horses to the People.
The Fireside Tales - Canterbury Tales recreation. Has People from the north, west, and south traveling with a mix of foreigners along the Triangle Path.
