Aren't we on a time limit with the ST? Something about in the next three turns...
Palace should only really take two. Plus we can try to integrate them while we build it.

It's finicky though. Honestly I need to sit down away from the thread and think about it.

You know, if it comes down to a choice between keeping the north or consolidating the lowlands ... maybe an amicable parting from the north would be a better choice. Not a great choice, but something to keep in mind.
Any parting made would very likely not be amicable, because Divine Stewards would proc from us losing land, as well as Lord's Loyalty for what would be perceived as treachery.

At a civilization scale, what does painkiller give us? Improved surgery due to less thrashing?
Pain itself was a major killer in early surgery (it leads to shock and heart failure.) Doctors would practice doing surgeries for speed to limit the amount of time the person was in extreme pain, because that would improve survival rates. We're talking serious surgeries in under a minute. It's basically impossible to practice good sanitation or to be careful when you're going at that speed.

Opium is our first real pain killer. Knock someone out on opium, and they won't even feel the pain. That allows you do do surgery, well, surgically. Carefully. And with a much higher overall survival rate.

Probably true. Though I meant kind in a return to our oldest roots "You have grievances against us. Those grievances are justified. We shall make them right. You are right that we are not being proper stewards for the Stallion lands" if it was done right it'd even challenge Divine Stewards in such a way as to possibly prompt a trait evolution.

But yeah, probably couldn't pull it off smoothly

Eh, hopefully we'll get a chance to ask Rulwyna some questions next update. Frankly, I don't think anyone here really knows how to prioritize integration vs. palace vs. temple vs. spamming more trails.

We KNOW all of these help some aspects (and some hinder certain aspects as well.) But we don't have the information to make a skilled decision.

A hero unit would be just the thing for clarifying the situation.

Yep. It's a complex question. I am similarly confused as to what course of actions we should be taking.

Okay @Kiba @Candesce and @pblur we are going to have to see what happens in the mid turn.

Resources are rather tight. We can make the palace even at 7 if I don't miss-remember costs and payouts for art patronage. Right now as is, depends on what appears in the mid turn, as is pretty normal right now.

I'm hoping the wonderful broken OP-ness of Intrigue Hero can elucidate some things.

Don't forget, on mega support they will take actions to generate any missing requirements.
Yeah I kept that in mind. Thanks though, it's appreciated!

So, I looked up the 4.2kiloyear event that @Academia Nut mentioned, which is a aridification event. Climate change is hypothesized to cause the collapse of at least three different civilizations and cultures across the globe.

In our case, it looked like climate is getting wetter.

Hmmm.

The nega-4.2 kiloyear, and we are in about 2400 BC...

This amuses me.

It also amuses me that it likely caused south eastward settlement in the Indus Valley civ.
