Just sitting here hoping that gender equality survives somehow :(
I know that feel. I remember when I was first reading through the thread, I was surprised that the position for the chief's wife didn't get picked by the thread, as that would have created a solid position in our government that would always belong to women. So long as the position didn't become ceremonial (and that would be easy to fight against), it would have been a solid foundation.

Your original premise was based on its erosion so there's no reason monogamy would develop thus as far as I can see.
Just thought that if women couldn't have multiple husbands, whatever remained of gender equality might allow them to pressure men into having only one wife, alternatively the Divine Union between Crow and Fythagyna might been seen as divine endorsement of monogamy

I voted for that....

Sad that it lost, but I hope that now we have a female god as our foremost god we may see some more equality back.
Also there are still some bright sparks, apparently women are still allowed and are a part of the Warriors, and also are allowed to march to war as Yeoman, furthermore there are still some female chiefs, there is a lot of sexism, but there are some bright sparks still alive, we are about even with 1930 Britain levels of equality

The first seems a stretch as for the second while Fythagyna can be said to represent women Eldritch Abomination Crow does not really fit the role of the man.

Pilgrimage trade power is impossible to get
Actually we know the old Spirit Talkers had it, via just expanding Holy Sites a shitload.
Not that it isn't valuable.
Do we still practice polygamy?
Is that still a thing?
We practice free love more or less.

Marriage contracts are still binding, and most of the core territories practice de facto monogamy, with de facto polygamy for traders(who rely on having a wife from each of the major trade points to get fair deals from their in-laws, since most people don't really trust agreements by people who aren't family). The Marches lean towards de facto Polygamy as well since they got a steady supply of former Nomad wives.

As per legal precedent set by Gwygotha and Magwyna a woman is allowed to be polygamous as well, and allowed to marry other women if they wanted, which also explains why family names are passed down the maternal line, since tracing the father is a little bit difficult sometimes.

So basically, because we don't do de jure hereditary rule(and thus, your lineage isn't nearly as important as your upbringing), as long as you aren't actually committing unsanctioned adultery, you can fuck whoever you want. Or whatever you want, though please do not do it at the Great Temple or some nice men in masks are going to have a long talk.

Or it might lead to beastiality (a woman married a mutant Crow), and you know what my avatars position is.

Prestige is hard to get, Pilgrimage trade power is impossible to get. The art tech advance is remarkably tempting, though.
@Academia Nut Will we get other opportunities to increase the pilgrimage trade good? If it becomes an action, what is the description of the action?
Prestige.
The pilgrimage trade good apparently scales with prestige. Though this action directly increases it, implying either that prestige is a multiplier and we're increasing the base amount it multiplies, or that every increase in prestige (or maybe only every increase in prestige as a result of religion) will increase its strength.

A probably not complete list of Prestige garnering actions:
-Proclaim Glory = a main + a main art patronage, roll dependent
-Success in a war mission. = probably only a main tbh, but highly roll dependent
-Megaprojects = like 5 mains

Hmmm, we need to remember that building the Library involves "2 Econ total commitment" as part of building it. I'm going to analyze our possible decision for next turn, but it's looking REALLY tight on some things. For example, we'll be down to 4 Martial. We should probably do Secondary Carrier Eaters and/or Secondary Blackbirds, that's Martial that doesn't cost Econ. I'll have more later.

Betting on a formula of something like Religious Authority *(Prestige /10 + 1) * Accessibility.

Switching policy because Econ limits.

Something to potentially note by the way, if we stay on Megaproject support, our hero's thoughts have been pointed wanting to solve future administrative problems for awhile now, so he might start the Palace if we manage to complete the Library this turn.
