Police force should continuously solve problems. Maybe this will even help trigger a dedicated Police force taken from our Martial

In all honesty the Ymarym are probably known for their beauty.

The Ymaryn do not have malnourished people like other Kingdoms, and they are known for working hard, leading to healthy fit bodies. This is only compacted by our people's awesome diets (venison FTW) and their advanced health services, which would lead to relatively smooth and healthy skin.

Our massive forests would most likely lead to a paler skin tone than the other Kingdoms we know of right now, something that is only reinforced by our valley and hills, which add extra shade and protection from the sun leading to a lighter skin tone.

Something you guys also haven't factored into the people's appearance is the affect of dyes.
The Ymaryn are the main source of the dye trade in this region of the world, that means that it's likely more common and cheaper amongst our people. This combines with the fact metal and hygiene awareness is more common leading to more 'managed' hair styles, to give our people a relatively striking appearance to the common foreigner.

They would see this richly dressed, well groomed, cleaned person. Someone who looks extremely healthy and with the fit body of a near noble, with pale smooth skin.

Overall we look goooooood. :ogles:
And thus we see the reason the Nomads want to raid us. They're like a three year old boy pulling their crushes hair.

Just with more rapine and blood and mass death. :V

Anime hair colors and styles? :V

Mega Pompadour when!?

Maybe they have the finest steaks during special occasions.

Which reminds me, what does Ymaryn cuisine look and taste like?

Goddamn. I feel like a prophet, just look back at my omake.

I need to go back in and touch that up. It's...eh.

You know aside from salt we do not really have any other spices I wonder what other spices we have in our forests that we do not bother to cultivate we should have truffles, but what else hmm.

So I decided to consolidate the questions of the thread aimed at AN or in general world building that have not been answered yet.

For your convenience @Academia Nut our wonderful QM.

But I also like a sailing mission to get a better picture of the south-west coast. Is there a Constantinople equivalent? Or even a route between different seas there at all? if there isn't a city in that gap could we found a colony or trading post there?

@Academia Nut So like... would it be possible to have per-civ diplo stats displayed or something...? I'm guessing not, because that would be an insane amount of effort. It's just that it would be nice to have clearer markers of interdependence and trade rates w/ the Hathatyn, TH, and HK.

@Academia Nut
What's the red limit for Centralization?
How well do our advisors think that building a wall will help the crime problem?
How trained are blackbirds for urban environments?
Can you explain more about how Enforce Law would work?

@Academia Nut

A few questions

1. How many Holy sites do the other known nation have?
2. Are they as impressive as ours or more impressive?
3. What is their current opinion on us, like for what are we known/famous for to them?
4. Has our Religion evolved any further and if so how?
5. Have our people some kind of physical (like fair skin from living in the forests, smaller build for our warriors from not eating meat all the day,) or spiritual (like some special prayer or behavior) tellings that sets them obviously apart from others and marks them as our people to our neighbours?

What does Ymaryn art look like?

Next up, what does Ymaryn philosophy (Ymarynism? Crowism?) look like? :V

@Academia Nut do we still have a Death Taboo?

Hey @Academia Nut I think the thread would appreciate some solid information for these questions:

What does the Ymaryn Art look like? Can you point us to real life approximate examples in order to help visualization?

What are the specifics of an average Ymaryn's physical appearance? Are there differences between a full blooded Stallion Marcher and a Southerner?

What types of clothing do they wear in recent times? What types of designs are stitched into it?

Can you share with us any pieces of apparel or adornment that are specific to the Blackbirds and/or Carrion Eaters?

How do our women accessorize? How do our men accessorize?

E: What does an average home look like in Valleyhome? What does the average home look like in a non-city locale? What is the most prevalent shape in their overall architecture?

Which reminds me, what does Ymaryn cuisine look and taste like?

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee World Building! Yay!

Have fun AN!

If I missed anyone please repost your question following this post.

Older wines actually had higher alcohol content than modern ones do. And we will never get better fermentation/wine tech unless we do wine things =v

We lack all those things because we've never started doing the Wine tech tree. I don't get how you can point them out as flaws when... it's like you're saying 'we dont have them now so lets not bother getting them ever!'. It's illogical and defeatist.
Actually, distillation was invented by alchemists. Alchohol wasn't the first application.

[x] [Law] Recruit more peacekeepers (Main More Blackbirds)

I strongly prefer this to walling a growing city, so I'll give up on Enforce for now.

Continuing the dogpile for humor! :V

@Academia Nut what set of real life music does Ymaryn music most closely resemble? What are our most common instruments?

Do the Ymaryn apply color to any structural or walling parts of their homes? If so, how?

Starting off on the other civs!

What does a Highlander look like appearance wise? Dark skinned, long or short hair, common eye colors, that sorta thing. Do our traders note any significant differences in appearance as they move about their lands?

Same for the Xohyssiri, the Thunder Speakers, The Thunder Horse, The Nomads, the Hathatyn, the Metal Workers, and the Far East Nomads who drove that Caravan to us. What do all of these people look like?

It's good to ask those kinds of questions. They add color and fluff to the setting.

That higher alcohol content was mostly a luxury wine that was stored for a long time in barrels (where the water slowly evaporated and concentrated the alcohol) or where the grapes were dried on straw mats in the sun to get more sugar. It's not quite practical for mass usage. Even today it's fairly expensive.

Because of opportunity costs. Sure, wine is great. But it isn't something that makes or breaks a civilization. All the things wine is great for can done by other alcoholic beverages.

I'd rather expand the forests, trails, ships and so on than have extra booze that we can just import.

Next turn, perhaps we should do Support Subordinate? The overlimit Martial is something that's already causing us problems and it's not something we want to sit on.

You're vastly undervaluing wine as a commodity. It was one of the chief trade goods of the ancient world, and high quality wines were (and are) extremely valuable. It isn't valued as a booze either, really, wine is how people all over the world stored 'drinking water' for long trips. Skins and what it are useful, but he water goes bad and gets contaminated. Wine does not, and more importantly, it tastes good.

If I say the word 'wine,' what do you think of? Grapes, France, California? That's the other reason. Wine, especially good wine, is a mark of prestige and sophistication. The quality of the wine reflects the quality of the society.

No. It isn't 'just another booze' and it wouldn't have its own option if it was.
