Diplomacy 12 [+1]
Economy 9
Martial 15 {18} (over limit)
Diplo 14 [+1] -> 12 [+1]
Difference is just the loss of trade deals. I think the next time the [+1] applies is at the start of next turn? (that is, it applies after we vote for main actions next)
Martial 5 {7} (+1) -> 15 {18}
5 +1 (veterancy delayed boost from last turn) +4 (iron mine finishing) +3 Main warriors + 2 blackbirds = 15
Econ 7 -> 9
7 -3 (GS) -2 (Warriors) -1 (Blackbird) +4 (Mine) + 4 (2x expand econ) = 9
Stability
Stability 1 (confident)
Legitimacy 3 (max)

Centralization 3

Stab up from -2 to 1, so RoO only got +1, not +2.
Cultural
Art 7
Mysticism 3
Prestige 8
Art 6 -> 7, from diplo overflow
Mysticism 4 -> 3 from blackbirds use
So actually kind of annoying that the provinces did blackbirds since we need mysticism for studying :/

Yeomanry
Yeomanry is new; wikipedia describes it thusly:
A yeoman /ˈjoʊmən/ was a member of a social class in late medieval to early modern England. In early recorded uses, a yeoman was an attendant in a noble household; hence titles such as "Yeoman of the Chamber", "Yeoman of the Crown", "Yeoman Usher", "King's Yeoman", Yeomen Warders, Yeomen of the Guard. The later sense of yeoman as "a commoner who cultivates his own land" is recorded from the 15th century; in military context, yeoman was the rank of the third order of "fighting men", below knights and squires, but above knaves. A specialized meaning in naval terminology, "petty officer in charge of supplies", arose in the 1660s.
So i think maybe this is the "farmers that double as militia"?

Composite Bows
Massed fire
Slings
Spear Throwers
Massed fire is new, and awesome. Do we have iron tipped arrows yet, AN? I assume we do, but i vaguely remember someone saying it would require archers to retrain to the new weight, and it's not listed, so i wasn't sure...

Iron Mine Reached Equilibrium
+4 Econ, +4 Martial
Sweet! This means the iron mine in total gave us 12 econ, 6 martial, or 18 stat points, as well as the project unlocks/upgrades and narrative boosts =D

Here's the diff checker i used: Diff Checker

Also,
@Academia Nut now that we've finally hit the cap on martial (assuming that the math is right, and not an error like i think might be the case), can you say whether it is a bad thing like everyone suggests, or if (like capping other stats) its actually good?

[X] [March] Yes, send out the warriors (-5 Martial, -2 Econ)

Restore Order failed blandly. It wasted options... thanks dice. So we are going to need to run secondary main grand sacrifice at some point.
what do you mean it failed? we got +1 from it...

Lots of stuff to talk about. Starting metal quest line will tie down 3/6 possible main actions over the next three turns and more if we factor in stability issues.
[X] No, stay at home Edit Changed
Seems natural to want establish another march. If it more likely to be a colony, I would be all for it. but as it stands we do not really need more martial generation we need more stability and eco. I say use it next turn to root out the nomads from the metal workers. WE KNOW WERE THEY ARE NOW! THEY WILL RUN AND LOSE THEIR MOMENTUM OR DIE!!! WE NEED TO STRIKE NOW BEFORE THE METAL WORKERS GET TO DIRTY FROM THOSE F@%& NOMADS AND THE NOMADS GET EVEN MORE WEAPONS! I DON'T THINK DISTANCE WILL MATER MUCH BECAUSE DISLODGING THE NOMADS IS OWN HEFTY REWARD!
[X] Attempt peaceful contact
IT IS What we do! (still cooling down from my little rant)
[X] Study Tailings (-1 Econ, -2 Mysticism, -1 Stability, improved chance of new insights)
Counts towards and some thing better don now than later.

It costs one stab to use. Even with the +1 it got us the same as a secondary grand sacrifice. Thus an option was wasted. More could have been from festival.

So for me that was a wasted option.
...Yeah, but it doesn't cost econ? Like, +1 net stab (-1, then +2 is technically what we got, if you want to write it that way) for no econ cost and a main action is still not bad...

I prefer Study Health with Study Metal, instead of Tailings.

Because, the challenge is to find nothing. I don't want them to derp into, "Yes, Tailings are poisonous (obviously), Oh no, weapons of the god"

God please no more steppe lands.

Now. In what order should we do other techs?

Survey can and should and will be done by provinces instead of us if we pick either Balanced or Progress (we should), so picking it is silly.

@Academia Nut , if we go for Progress policy and, say, pick Study Metal option next turn, can we reasonably expect provinces to provide Study Health for us, seeing as it does not eat Stability?

So your suggesting risking a military take over because you want to send the military after the same nomads? Having so much extra military is going to mean a Civ full of bored armed hot heads without a hobby.

Also, the new march means an easier attack venue to get to the nomads in question.

We kinda HAVE to in order to bleed off this overstocked martial.

We need more prestige to create another March on our NE. Survey lands may fail sadly enough but we could try it again on the third turn after we double main metal and health next turn. Peaceful contact I'm hoping works out but high chance of it devolving back into a war. The Haythn are asking to get punched now and shouts out to our fishermen kicking ass even though we haven't expanded boats in forever.

Yes.... we risked the option botching for less stab for the sake of stab. We could have gotten the exact same effect from expanding econ and a minor grand sacrifice at no risk or gotten the festivals revised for once. Least best way to do that without attacking our own guys with the other option.

The tailings are known to be toxic. Studying them and studying health at the same time means doing something about it. Metal itself is a relative known quantity. Studying health and tailings has the greatest chance of synergyzing and figuring out what the tailing are for.

We kinda HAVE to in order to bleed off this overstocked martial.

Nope. With Hathatyn being dicks, Thunder Horses strengthening their hold over the Thunder Speakers and HK being probably up to no good, we'll soon have more than enough enemies for our warriors.
If anything, right now steppes are actually our least dangerous border; turning southmost parts of Southshore into the mini-march would make much more sense, as would be making a march to our North-East.
And steppes are utterly painful to defend, as we've been shown.

So no, we will have a lot of opportunities to bleed off Martial next turns, and almost guaranteed to find all of them coming from the south. While all our actions are busy to boot.

Actually, with this political climate, leaving Offensive on while expecting southern borders to erupt in fires seems like a...somewhat reasonable idea. We can rely on provinces to beat our enemies (Massed Fire + Iron Weaponry = They are not going to attack us after the first go for a long time), while we are busy solving the challenge.

Challenge Started!
You have 3 turns to complete the following:
[Main] Study Metal, [Main] Study Tailings, [Main] Study Health + Metal or Tailings, [Main] Build Mine

Study Metal - Iron and copper, gold and silver, what other secrets are hidden in metal and stone?
* S: -1 Mysticism, tiny chance of new insights
* M: -1 Econ, -2 Mysticism, -1 Stability, improved chance of new insights

Study Tailings - A few generations of copper mining has built up a number of tailings pits, might there be any new insights within?
*S: -1 Mysticism, tiny chance of new insights
* M: -1 Econ, -2 Mysticism, -1 Stability, improved chance of new insights

Study Health - What secrets of nature can be used to improve the health of the People?
* S: Potential new discoveries
* M: -1 Econ, improved odds of success

Build Iron Mine - In the settlement of Bleeding Cliff there is a cliff streaked with red stone that is a known source of star metal. The large scale mining and smelting of the ore could have... considerable... benefit.
*S: -4 Econ, -1 Stability, +??? next turn
*M: -4 Econ, -1 Stability, +??? mid-turn

So by this the total cost will be, - 3 stability, - 4 mysticism, - 6 econ...

And one turn minimum - 2 stab up to -3 if we try to destrou three requeriments at one fell swoop.

I would have preferred to found the NE march, but oh well.

We need to offload our Martial stats somewhere. If it doesn't work we can just integrate it later.

Also next turn we could just change policy to studying stuff.
